Especially Dany. The way she emotes onstage, and has talked in the past about becoming a vessel for the lyrics and interpreting them, I am shocked she has never taken acting classes. She is a natural.
@@7piecebucket I think that her (Dani) personality is the key to the band -- she is not "dominant", let's her sisters shine as they want, but yet is always ready to introduce her own opinions and thoughts. If she insisted on being the older, "dominant" sibing, it would not work. I have watched many many Warning interiews, and have NEVER seen her act even remotely negative when interrupted by others (especially Pau). There is a lesson here for all of us, in much more than just music! They have an ability to get along and work together that is really at the very top of the curve. And their parents are certainly responsible.
18:11 Paulina and Daniela react to the question about Alejandra being timid dealing with her older sisters when writing music. 😆 I believe she's a terror.

So proud of these sharp, lovely and very talented young ladies and what great ambassadors they are for Mexico. Just a note for you, when people on the string write DPA, they are not referring to the microphones. It is short for: Dany! Pau! Ale! :-) Keep up the great interviews. Best of luck with your podcast.
The LIVE performance of Keep Me Fed will be so much better than the overproduced studio version. The Warning is the greatest Rock band on the planet.....for many reasons.....

Fun fact… these 3 lovely young ladies ARE AMERICAN! The country we live in is called "The United States"… or "The U.S."… or "U.S.A.". This continent is called "America"… but technically it is called "North America". These 3 sisters come from people that have been here for close to 20,000 before the Spanish discovered this land… so any name you give this land, their people are the most "of the land" that you will ever find. So when you say that they "came to America", they actually have never left. Put another way… everybody on this continent has another place of origin. If you deport Mexicans to Mexico… they will have never left America at any time.

Still waiting for a full spanish album. They are too disconnected from their own people and culture due to their parents so i dont blame them, but it is their responsibility to break with the vicious cycle of malinchismo As Mexicans we can sing in spanish, english or whatever. That is not the issue. The issue is whether one is firmly grounded in ones own identity and culture. The normalization of assimilation and acculturation only contributes to the degradation and destruction of that Breaking stereotypes or gaining a place in the mainstream and colonial system doesnt have to come at the expense of Mexican peoples essence, culture and identity. If were going to be recognized and respected then let it be as Mexicans and not as cheap carbon copies of the imposed culture. And with this i do not imply that we cant use the spanish or english colonially imposed dialects, its simply about not loosing or degrading our own culture and identity in the process and staying firmly planted in our own essence.
Thank you for watching and sharing your insightful thoughts on cultural preservation! Please consider subscribing if you haven't already for more rich discussions. As an interviewer, I'm committed to providing a well-rounded perspective. In light of your comment, do you think that incorporating traditional Mexican instruments could help maintain cultural identity even in songs sung in English?
@@BringinitBackwards Absolutely. But its also not a rigid rule in my opinion. Its mostly about a persons mentality whether they have a decolonized mindset and knowledge of self. When a person has that, they can do almost anything they please because the foundation is firm and unshakeable
Malinchismo has a bigger connotation that does not fit them. Every time they can in interviews they speak in spanish, in their patreons vlogs for at least the first to albums they always talk mostly in English BUT they always mix spanish too. Their two most "Know" albums (Error and Keep me Feed) had a spanish song, not a b-side or a single but a song in the actual album with a music video both of them. Since QOTMS they had use Prehispanic instruments to add in the mix of songs (like in Automatic Sun) and their biggest shows are always in México where is like the official Meeting place of Warning fans all over the world. Sorry I justo feel like sometimes people think that they are actively avoiding their ruts when is all the contrary. They want to be a ROCK BAND, not a rock band in spanish, not a female rock band, just a ROCK BAND, Sing in English or Spanish does not matter what matters to them is just make good music. And they have people all over the world singing QUE MÁS QUIERES and MARTIRIO so...
I say these things because every time you say that the U.S. is America… this erases Mexican people. It's as if, Europeans are Spanish & German & English & Italian & Polish & French… but Mexicans ain't American?

They are too disconnected from their own people and culture due to their parents so i dont blame them, but it is their responsibility to break with the vicious cycle of malinchismo
As Mexicans we can sing in spanish, english or whatever. That is not the issue. The issue is whether one is firmly grounded in ones own identity and culture. The normalization of assimilation and acculturation only contributes to the degradation and destruction of that
Breaking stereotypes or gaining a place in the mainstream and colonial system doesnt have to come at the expense of Mexican peoples essence, culture and identity.

In light of your comment, do you think that incorporating traditional Mexican instruments could help maintain cultural identity even in songs sung in English?

Absolutely.
