@@larko2717 Just never happened when I was a kid, we celebrated in other ways. Decorating the house, trick-or-treating, making our own costumes, etc. Now that I am adult, I really want to try it!

Trick'r'treating isn't really a thing here in Denmark either, but it's slowly starting to be. And back in the day, people carved out beets for lanterns instead of pumpkins, as it was easier to acquire. 😊 But I say go for it (at least the pumpkin carving) as someone has to be the first to start a tradition.
You're NEVER supposed to cut towards yourself like that unless you're wearing protective clothing. I learned the hard way when carving wood around age 11.
