I hoped for the season to end like this: Grace somehow manages to get her number down to 0 says goodbye to Simon still having a really high number and goes on to reunite with her family/starts a new life with the lessons she has learned. Then cut to some years later and she meets Simon in the real world and they live together happily ever after.
@@randomdj9165 people do but mostly 1) when amelia was in charge 2) when they are irresponsible as we can see from all 3 books, outside the cars is clearly the most dangerous part, but the only deaths from that was largely intentional, although I suppose the demon monsters or whatever (i don't remember their names) are dangerous but only in specific situations

A shame that book 4 didn't have bangers such as this one, train to nowhere is good but still, I hoped that a book about two musicians had really good music

Y'know, I've been seeing a lot of comments about people wishing Simon got a redemption arc and how people shipped him with Grace or whatever, but I feel like that would throw out a lot of what made him such an incredibly written character. Simon isn't a good person, he's heavily traumatized and rather than acknowledge that trauma and try to grow past that experience for the better he lashes out at those around him. He let Samantha abandoning him define him as a person and went to destroy livelihoods and kill denizens because it was easier for him to go on believing that they were nothing than it was to accept the fact that Samantha didn't mean to hurt him the way she did. Even when Grace tries to correct her past mistakes and help Simon do the same, he rejects her offer. Simon has come to view his pit of despair as his paradise and so when that starts to change, he takes it out on Grace. Grace has become just like Samantha to him, she's a null in his eyes. Even at the end when he KNOWS the Gohm is on the bridge with them (a creature that severely traumatized him in the past), he chooses to continue attacking Grace instead, not dealing with the Gohm until it's too late and it kills him. In the end, Simon's choice to refuse help and continue his downward spiral is what kills him. So yeah, I actually really like season 3's ending, I think it had an incredibly beautiful (albeit tragic) message about how trauma effects people and the symbolism in it was really cool!
Yeahh Book 3 is my favorite in the show because of how well written the characters and Simon as an antagonist is written. I love that he regresses and ends up dead not because he was an irredeemable villain who deserved a terrible end, but because he chose not to change and could not deal with the reality that all he knew was a lie
Oh 100% Simon is an absolutely phenomenal character. Easily the best character in the show and one of the best characters in modern animation. I can still fantasize about alternate scenarios where Grace and Simon eventually make it off the train, or where they become a villain power couple.
i am so sad the show is over but if i could forget about this show and go back and watch it again for the first time i would. it had me in tears in the 3rd season and the 4th made me so happy in the end. this song brings so many emotions to my heart and this show made me really view life from a new view. I would like to say thank you to Owen Dennis for amazing characters, stories, story lines and art. i want you to know you have changed life for me and i am glad i found this show.
