In the new concept, we tried to depict the Flash game as an Earth Sized open-world, a game where Flash's supernatural ability allows him to move around the planet at incredible speeds. Maybe this game will never be made, but at least we can imagine it

I think that since you're the flash, things around should not be fast... When you turn on your speed everything should just slow down, but the character just move as it always do
The only time I think everything around should move fast is when you're traveling to some other area
That's not speed then, That's just Time Manipulation. Time Manipulation isn't his powers, speed is.
If you can have a racing game showing a car driving 300mph, why can't Flash? You don't have to run at light speed to be called Fastest Man Alive.

When you're the flash, you experience the time differently, for the flash when he's moving fast, he doesn't feel that he's moving fast, he just feels that everybody moves very slow
@@baligong3592 You're misunderstanding him. The Flash can think faster then the speed of light; we however cannot.
When The Flash runs, his mind is able to keep up with the speed, so when he's running, everything is slowed down to him. To us, he's moving faster then light. To him? It's just an ordinary jog. His power isn't time manipulation, you are correct, but he's not slowing down time, his brain is simply moving so fast as to where he can keep up with his own speed. This isn't unheard of, I think Eagles (don't quote me) see the world in slow motion due to how fast they are while flying.
@@baligong3592 Speed IS time manipulation. The closer you travel to the speed of light the slower your time goes. Him moving regular speed as everyone moves slow is analogous to him moving fast and everyone moving normal speed

I think the only way his speed would work, would be to slow down everything around him. Imagine the controls for this? It would be a nightmare to run 1 block.

In my sentiments, the only way a speedster game would work without any nerfing and plot-breaking circumstances, is to just slow them down immaculately. Make Barry a high school teenager and not as smart as he's always written, and make him run only as fast as Delsin with the neon powers in InFamous SS

Combat should be slow motion. Where you pick exactly how you want to defeat your enemy and then it plays out in full speed. Like Quicksilver in Days of Future Past

Nothing is challenging for flash, if you think about it. He could beat up everybody in a blink. His only real opponents are those who also are really fast, but that's some rare bosses material. Or those who could slow him down somehow.
Or if he had to fight while actually jumping between places. That could be epic. Imagine having to jump from New York to Seattle, and then to Abu Dhabi during one combat sequence. But I don't know how it would be explained, maybe like, you're getting a message through communicator and you jump to help other people fight. Maybe there's some catastrophe that happens in multiple places at the same time, and you're the only one besides Superman who can actually not be late to handle it.

Looking good, Flash definitely needs a big game of his own. How about some tests for Wonder Woman, Green Lantern (Hal or John) or Martian Manhunter (shapeshifter and detective elements would be fun there).
A Green Lantern game would actually be fucking insane. Imagine if you can literally make practically any item you want that exist in the game (and even some that don’t) with your ring and use it in combat and then travel to all kinds of different planets in space. Maybe you could even personally design certain weapons, vehicles, or other items in your free time so that you can basically save it to your “imagination” in-game and use it whenever.
Imagine how creative and versatile the combat could get.
A Martian Manhunter game would also be dope, being able to shapeshift into whoever is available, turn invisible, become intangible whenever and phase through objects, use telekinesis and act as a powerful telepath on top of having super strength and speed. Also being a space being.
Those 2 would be insane and I think it would surprisingly take even more effort than a Superman, Wonder Woman or Flash game. An Aquaman or Cyborg game might be the most doable though.
Map big enough for flash would need something like seed generated areas

Honestly, Flash isnt a good hero for a game. Would either just be too fast to control or basically make everything else freeze in time while you move. Also map would have to be actual earth size for it to work.
I think a open world aquaman game would be 🔥🔥 being able to control sea creatures and fight battles underwater with different cities

I feel like a lot of sequences would need to be cinematics like the first speed sequence in this video. It'd be better suited to a fast travel cinematic since it's outside Central City. If you do the speed for the character, you'd need to keep it slow enough that the player can properly see what's happening but fast enough to see how fast Barry/Wally is
Flash has been drinking beer lately.
I think to truly do a Flash game and it be balanced speed needs to be a reward. For example he obviously can run very fast but the longer he runs the faster he gets or the longer he can fight without taking damage the faster and stronger his attacks are. He would utilize his speed like Spiderman games utilize "Spider Sense" by making well timed movements he dodges attacks like Goku fazes away. Once enough momentum is built up it's like the world is standing still so "bullet time" would essentially be a player's reward for not being hit and doing a lot of damage.
Sonic Frontiers does something like this. In that game, you not only get a "Spidey Sense" like indicator to dodge an enemy attack, but if you perfectly parry said attack you can enter a "bullet time" mode to whale out on enemies. As for the running faster thing, some Sonic games of the past also had it so the more rings you collect as you run, without getting hit and losing them, the faster you go.
Great idea, add really dangerous AI so the game could become challenging, then the better u are in game = better speedster u are
Or you could just be a badass and actually feel like the flash. Why put a handicap on gun? Stamina isn’t fun in any video game

Not sure about this...but I always figured a game that played like the quicksilver scenes in X-Men would be a blast. I would imagine it would play very much like a puzzle game.

It could be done with a slow time mechanic and a huge map where he can run from point a to b. He can phase through walls and run through time in different time lines. Enemies will be Captain Cold, Mirror Man, God Speed, Reverse Flash and that Gorrilla with powers dont remember his name now. 5 arks with mini- boss fights. It could be done.

It would be implemented in the opposite way. The world would slow down to a near stand still as you continued to move about normally. Would make for some incredible scenes during a thunderstorm with the slow motion lightning and rain drops.

Both are cool, for different purposes. For fighting, it's better to have the world in slow motion. For moving from point A to point B, it's better to actually move at breakneck speed.

This has all the reasons why a Flash game isnt being made
A flash game can be done as he could probably regulate his speed like he’s been shown to do numerous times. You can make flash playable without sacrificing gameplay. Hell you could even make slowdown mechanics that function more like Barry playing Chess with the enemy, or have him go up against supervillains that can put up a fight against him

Having a world with limited turning possibilities would make it much easier to render an entire planet, though
This is a great demonstration of how POWERFUL the Flash REALLY IS. He can run faster than the speed of light, good luck deflecting those punches... also time travel, which is a whole different conversation, for another time. The Flash is CRAZY powerful.
Any comic character is crazy powerful when the creators want it. Captain America literally destryea meteorite with a shield throw, like, yeah, just a strong guy with a durable piece of metal, can cut cosmic objects.
Or Superman fighting universe level threats on his own with some new buff.
Or Batman actually winning against such a person with a set of prepared tools, being just a human with money.
Or Hulk becoming a being of endless power because of his gamma-poisoning, whose rage gives him power and durability not really limited with anything.
Or Ghost Rider, gradually becoming an invincible and untouchable entity.
Main characters are basically omnipotent. That's because their creators need them to win against every imaginable opponent to keep the attention of reader.

From a base game design perspective, a flash game should emphasize speed. The best way to do this would be to design the gameplay in a way that has players making lots of decisions every few seconds and pressing a lot of buttons. Simply holding forward to run, while it may be fast in the game, doesn't feel fast which is why a lot of sonic games fall flat because its just holding forward.
That transition would make for a pretty neat fast travel mechanic
With the characters they got DC should be owning the video game scene
If you run with the speed of light and then suddenly go down to 0 km/h under a second, I think there has to be some kind of air burst after, which is completely missing when flash stops. Just a thought 🤷

For all the people asking: no the world isn't really that big and a real version of the game wouldn't have a map "the size of the Earth". What they are doing is that when Flash hits a certain speed, a transition occurs and he essentially "teleports" to another biome. You can think of him running over the ocean as a hidden loading screen. Through that, they only have to generate one level at a time.
I assumed (based on how the sun passes) that this was really large scale but non-taxing map that was just sped up during the running sequences.

This Flash game is basically just me surfing google maps in HD
A flash video game with an infinite max speed/speed control and a flash time trigger has incredible potential, imagine how much fun running on walls in slow mo and moving bullets and projectiles could be. Or just fighting without slow mo and having moves like circling enemies and zigzaging around them/phasing happen seamlessly

It would also be hilarious if your character's speed never changes but just the world around you slows down... So if you wanted to run to Egypt it would take 15 days of real-world time.

I feel the only way they could do it is if they do first person, and when the speed is activated, they change your perception of time, like how the flash would veiw time. For example, a minute would feel like an hour, and then when deactivated things would happen quickly. Kinda like quicksilvers' scene in x-men apocalypse
When it comes to superhero games, I always thought it was stupid that the game couldn't really represent the superpower. Every time I played Hulk I always thought: "What? This little guy with his gun is going to kill me as Hulk? How?". and so forth.

So. 2 things.
1. Make the water sounds when flash is running on water or snow sounds on snow, everything sounds like he is running around his bedroom.
2. Find direction. Is the game exploration game ,or combat game. For combat you do not really need huge worlds, for exploration you actually need to fill the huge world with stuff to find.
