I don't know about that. Her vocal is literally swimming in auto-tune and other effects processing, likely to compensate for a less than "genius" performance. What makes the track excel is an exceptionally well-written song coupled with superb instrument performances from top studio musicians.
When George Jones sang "Who's Gonna Fill Their Shoes," Kacey Musgraves is who he was speaking of. She has one amazing voice, and brings back so much of the old country sounds and character from decades ago. Hearing her sing with Willie (a country music legend), well that's a bonus in itself.
