@@tom10crafted I service my Scott Genius' fork for the past 4 years now and runs smooth as butter still. Just shocked when I read the new fork came with dry seals when it should be damp with oil
Is this 120mm SC? We have the same ready to unbox for Xmas. They say you need special tool for Step Cast forks lower leg service(ie, fox damper side removal tool)
I can't say whether it is really needed - but went that path and haven't done 50h afterwards. Seals were absolutely dry - wonder the reasons why they ship this by default
@@tom10crafted In my opinion. It is to make customers to not underestimate the service, because customers are carried away by the performace after the first 50h service.
Hmm wonder if I need to do this for my brand new Fox Factory 34 SC fork
Me too(not mine technically)
I don't think it is necessary as A MUST. But something to keep in mind when considering to do or not maintenance later down the road :)

Yes, it is 120mm. Can't say it for certain as I haven't done lowers myself yet on this one and currently it is out for full service :)
New fork from sealed box went for lower leg service ? ??
Fox is known to ship forks with very little oil and no slick honey on the seals but still..

@@tom10crafted well not sure all the fox forks i had opened had very little oil inside, also dry seals .. guess less weight :D
@ would be hillarious if weight is actual reason!! 😅
