Beautiful! I feel like we should all do an end grain bowl or platter once in a while. If for no other reason than to remind us that there is a whole different approach to grain and color. Great job on this.
No
I love it!!! I think wood projects with knots & branches & raw edges are the best!
Wow the grain and knots are gorgeous, I love the naturalness of it , well done
Beautiful bowl, Jack. This is a great way to show off the pine as apposed to turning it face or cross grain oriented which may have looked pretty plain. This turned out fantastic. Take care. Cheers, Rob😊
That's the Beauty of red pine - the whorled branches make fabulous designs when cutting a plate or bowl from end grain. Rustic and perfect for the cabin! Great project and I for one am happy to turn only wood.
The wood is amazing it has lovely grain and colour and markings, I feel its got lots of character. I 100% love the way you have uniquely created this item it is gorgeous well done. Cant wait for your next video, have a good 2023. Amanda xx
...here I was, thinking that I pine for another Jack Mack video, and voila, here it is...a beautiful platter!!!
The grain is just awesome...well done Jack!...👍
Beautiful work, Jack! Those ribbons of end grain flowed off that gouge beautifully!
The process of making wooden trays is so much fun!🤩🤩🤩
Jack you are very talented and clever to bring out the beauty hidden in a piece of wood well done its absolutely amazing 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Hi jack seen the message wow if i have won a prezzie thats awesome not sure how to reply via Tele_gram but thank you, you are an amazing artist never stop making your creations 😊
That is a beautiful end grain turning with a natural edge. The grain is exquisite.
Wow! Look at those ribbons of wood fly. That is some excellent cutting.
Hi jack long time no see. This piece is beautiful. I didn’t know you could go the wrong way. I love the grain in the wood. Magnificent. Thank you
Gorgeous! Love the life lines in the wood.
Beautiful! Makes me want to go out and learn how to do this woodworking!!
Do it! You should be able to find a Woodturning club in your area.
Here’s some more inspiration

That was a very unique platter, Jack. Love the colors and grains.
Now I know what to do with some chunks of pine too knotty to hand-split for firewood. Thanks, Jack.
That really is beautiful. The colour, the shape. I love everything about it.
Jack it’s a pleasure watching a master at work, I’ve been retired for a while and was getting bored that is until I came across your videos, I watch 3 or 4 hrs a day ,and guess what I’ve gone and purchased a wood turning lathe, I did centre lathe work in the RAF ,I know it’s not the same, but after watching you hopefully I’ll pick it up, all the best keep up the good work.
Thanks Edwin. I’m really glad to hear you enjoy watching my work. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask. I’m always happy to help out.
What did your work with the RAF involve ?
Another lovely piece ... the branch inclusions really add to the overall effect.
😊 glad you enjoyed it
When I saw the title I thought I was going find out that even pros make mistakes. Boy was I wrong! Great piece Jack! Enjoyed the video. But do you ever make mistakes?😂
Jack you are so right! I seemed to have forgotten that people don't use incandescent much any. I apologize 😔. I'm partial to spalted maple, or spalted beech.
Although I turned a large chess set from black walnut and aspen. By large I mean 9" pawns and 16" kings and queens. Bishops, knights and rooks about 14". Thanks for all the great projects and videos!
Hey Scott, I was just playing buddy. Most lights these days produce very little heat as the focus is on efficiency.
Satisfactory when we see a professional in the area 😯👏🏻
Happy New Year! Another inspirational piece. Loved watching and defo entertaining.
Very organic, love it :)
At first I didn't really appreciate where this project was going - but the as it developed it developed into a really cracking piece.
Looks great Jack. Let us know if it cracks, I hope not but those wet end grain turns are always a bugger.
Beautiful piece of art sir. Thank you.
Hey Jack; Absolutely Brilliant !
Beautiful!! Nothing wrong way about it!!
You think?
Beautiful !
Maybe more people should do it the wrong way, the piece is awesome 👍
There’s nothing wrong with the way you done this project it’s cool 😊
Very beautiful Jack. I tend to stay away from pine due the amount of sap in it.
Amazing. I love the simpleness of it
Unique indeed... And beautiful
Wrong way?! No way! It's fantastic!
I thought most bowls and plates were done this way, but maybe I don't fully understand what cross grain means. I thought it meant the grain would be in lines instead of circles. I see a lot of wood plates and bowls with the circles. However, the inclusion of the branches is GORGEOUS! I have never seen that before. ❤️
mais uma vez arrasou! Lindo demais😍
Love the way you enhance nature,Happy New Year❤️
Mr Jack you are the best show
Beautiful. And unique.
Hello Jack, I hope your holiday was good. I love the title, gorgeous platter. It was the wrong / right way. Take care, thanks 😊

Nice job Mr. Mack! The ribbons of shavings you were getting reminded me of your potato turning video
Nice! Love how it turned out!

Those long ribbons of wood seem like they would make amazing firestarter or potpourri.

Great piece.

Awesome, nice job!
You are a braver man than I Gunga Din........
A beautiful piece.
Why ?
@@JackMackWoodturning I am never keen on bits flying off lol
Oh I see. It’s entirely safe. The bits are just like wood ribbons 👍🏻
❤ I am completely obsessed with you and could watch you all day long!

@@JackMackWoodturning I guessed and reported it
Hello Jack beautifully done good job
Great job
Thanks jean 😊
I see a load of wings on that platter and a couple of beers to wash them down with....another beautiful job. Happy New Year Jack!!!
Hi Jack, nice start to the year, that looks nice love the knots. Cheers Will.😎
Thanks mate. How’s you?
Beautiful👌👌
Beautiful
That is very cool. I think when it cracks it will look even better.
Why do you think this bowl would crack?
@@JackMackWoodturning The pith is dead center and unless it's already dry, it will crack eventually from the pith. I love the bowl and if a few cracks appear, it will add a little something extra to it. I have been inspired and I think I will do one of these myself at some point. I look forward to your next project.
Video hay quá bạn ơi 👍👍
Very nice 👍
Beautiful!
Happy New Year

Thanks Walt 👍🏻
Happy New Year
Woodturning - the wrong way?!! Sounds like clickbait to me?! Dude…you don’t need that! Awesome job!👍
How is that click bait? It is the wrong way.
If you want to dedicate videos to ASMR try longer videos with no short cuts in the filming process, i enjoy watching the full creative steps in wood turnning. Love your videos, especially before bed 🥰
I’m sorry I’m not sure what you mean
How beautiful! Did you originally hope to keep the bark and it just wouldn't hang on? That would have been interesting but the result is outstanding!
Amazed that radial cracks have not opened up!
Wow top bubut skills good mr
Lindo demais
Greetings from Petoskey, Michigan 👋🏼
Beautiful work!
I think you’ll like my latest video:
ua-cam.com/video/OcVLfBuQrAc/v-deo.html
Would have been neat if the bark sections could have been glued on with epoxy or something just to keep it on. Still came out really cool with that live edge!
I so had a different thought halfway through but I do like the way it turned* out
When I read the title, I thought you were going to show the world how I turn projects!
And I thought he show the video in reverse 😮
Very nice. Will you please let us know in a few days time if it cracked or warped. Blessed New year!
Super tare 👍👍👍🌽🌽🌽🍯
great
Bonjour,
Magnifique réalisation. Sur du bois vert, vous ne craignez pas les fissures? Quelles sont les produits de finition que vous avez utilisés ? Un grand merci pour cette vidéo !
You have inspired me, live on a property with lots of wood 🪵 I’m definitely going to invest money & buy wood lathe machine and the tools ⚒️ needed to curve the wood, i’ll start off with making cutting boards
