these tutorials are really helpful for me, not only are they showing clearly what your doing while explaining it, your videos are some of the only ones im seeing with a similar tail length to what i have so its alot easier to translate to me doing!
I always have a hard time doing pivots can you give me some advice? I can lift up my board a lil bit by doing a manual but I don't have enough confidence to turn. It's not that I'm afraid of falling but rather my board rolling away and hitting my neighbors mailbox or some random kid.
Thank for this video Ronnie. Im goofy stance, with a few tries, I'm now able to spin it 90 degrees anti clockwise. Any tip for making it go 180 safely? All in the backfoot pressure you said?
yeah all in the back foot. a good way to practice is fakie. because of the momentum, it swings 180 easier. If you already got that down, just work on the back foot pressure, possibly even on grass
@@RonnieSarmiento thanks for your reply. So I did my second attempt tonight, and using your advice, I practised on grass first and pumped more pressure on my left back foot cos I'm goofy, and just like magic! It spun 180 degrees anti clockwise (on grass)! It's not so easy to land when rolling forward on cement cos after the anti clockwise turn, the nose ends up at the back, and the tail ends up at the front if you know what I'm saying....am I supposed to jump both feet backwards before landing?
I have a street skateboard and I can't do tricks on it because I hate the board and feeling once I got a longboard I loveddddd it!And I wanted to learn tricks thanks so much I'm gonna work my hardest to do this
Yup, this can be done on a pintail, for sure! As long as the tail is big enough to get good leverage the lift up the board. You may need to scoop back much harder depending on the length of the board
Hey Ronnie, love this tutorial! I really like your board, but I noticed the Anonymous Feather isn't listed available anymore. What type of board is that? I would love to get one. I want a board that is around 36", feels stable, but I also want to do tricks like this.
Hey man you probably won’t see this but I’m struggling with this one. I can get the scoop every single time but when I jump my feel always somehow flip the board over I think? I’m riding the Elixir from Moonshine Mfg and I can old school Kickflip so I sorta know how to stay over the board but I have no idea how to fix this. Any tips?
Hey man, I have 1 question, I have a gravity drop model as longboard. Im doing more downhill/freeride. But do you think it is possible to do shove its or that kind of tricks on that model?
I have so much problem commiting, everytime i tell myself to do it i end up stopping midway thru cause its so scary, i cant bring myself to just go all the way through even tho i know i have potential to do it, and i also have trouble doing the scoop thing too, my board flies in all different directions and goes away from me so i cant catch it with my popping foot. My first day of trying this trick and its already so frustrating 😓😓, any tips?
Thanks bruv, been learning a bunch thanks to you. I'm newish. Edit* it's just piecing everything together...I still can't land the Ghost Ride Kickflip and the Pop Shovit
I've been trying this trick for a while now in nollie position, but I can't get my front foot back on the board. Too much of my weight is leaning over it so it just drops to the floor after my scoop. Gonna try it in normal position like this video shows, hope it works out
Update: Just practiced for an hour, got all the motions. Only need to practice the consistency of my turns so my board finishes straight more often than not, then I'll be able to commit. Found out why I couldn't land it nollie as well. I've got an asymmetric board with a kick tail but a really short nose, only 4 cm of board after my front trucks. There's no way I can launch myself up as well as scoop the board on that small nose.
Hey Ronnie whats the status for that longboard giveaway? My longboard really isn't suited for tricks its only 3 ply no kicks, would love to win. Can I drop some hills for you instead? Love the videos still looking for that uphill/Battery test on that electric board.
It seems to me that the scooping tends to send the board to your front side. I fell like i need to jump a bit sidewards to follow it and remain over it to be able to land it. But you don't mention it here, isn't it a thing ?
@@RonnieSarmiento in fact I was pushing too much down (board lifting). I tried to accompany it rotating on the tail instead and got clean spins. Landed a couple while not rolling : my balance is still too off on landing to roll out of it yet.
Hey dude! Explane me this please! What your doing is called a "normale"Shove-it right? But why do people call a Nollie Shove-it, just a Shove-it?? I see many people explaning the shove-it, but then in a Nollie position. And then still saying that its a shove-it. (If you dont understand, sorry for my broken English xd). Love you video's!
A lot of times, the "longboard shove it" is a nollie shove it. Not sure why. If a trick doesn't have nollie, fakie, or switch in front of it, most of the time, it is considered a trick in the regular stance. I say most of the time, because a trick can have a common term for it. For example, a half cab. You do not say fakie half cab, because a half cab is already a fakie backside 180 ollie. I am not sure why longboarders do this, or how it spread. I think to fix this, we should just call tricks what they are. If you are in the nollie stance, and do a shove it, just call it a nollie shove it. I hope this makes sense.
Nollie shoves can be easier because the momentum of the board is already moving forward, making the rotation easier. I wanted to make a regular shove it one, because a log people do a "shove it" on a longboard and really they do a nollie or fakie one. I like to call it how it is, know what i mean?
PSA: the link you gave to anonymous longboards is not secure. So be wary if you're about to click it. I got a quite unsavory advertisement, and it was quite awkward to explain to my roommate, plus I wouldn't trust that site with any information.
And wear a helmet, at least when you are first trying to do tricks. You won't be used to falling yet, and you want your brains to stay inside your head so you can do more tricks!
there a a ton of ways to do shove its, the way you said is a nollie shove it, or a fakie shove it. You can also do regular shove its like what i showed you here, and even switch shove its. Most of the time people do nollie/fake cause its easier, but I wanted to teach something different.
Oh okay I understand its just that I'm new to long boarding and I googled how to do a shove it and thats exactly what this video is called so I assumed it was a regular nollie/fakie way.
these tutorials are really helpful for me, not only are they showing clearly what your doing while explaining it, your videos are some of the only ones im seeing with a similar tail length to what i have so its alot easier to translate to me doing!
It’s really weird how scooping is so essential but there’s literally 0 videos talking about it specifically
it is 100% how you do it!
Jeroen Teng whats scooping?
Finally a great shuvit tutorial that's not fakie. Thanks!
Thanks mate! There are a ton of "shove it" trick tips out there, but they always do em nollie or fakie haha
Ronnie Sarmiento Yup. Exactly
Very good video bro, I've been wanting to learn this trick for ages. Today is the day.
+IroamNZ good luck to you!
Did you send it?
DID YOU GET IT??
aaronroach I just landed an old school Kickflip so I’m gonna try this today
best shove it trick tip i've ever watched, thanks a lot man, you're awesome!
I am physically uncapable of scooping my gigantic board😂

Thanks for the awesome video!! I’ve been working on a shove it but there were not very many videos to show how to land it!
Happy to help! Good luck with the trick! 👍
You are soo good at this

keep practicing to get used to the motion. find a rail or something to hold onto so you dont fall. Good luck! :)
If ur board doesnt have enough tail you are prob having a hard time so maybe it is not your fault but the boards
great vid!! really helpful 💓
Fun fact, I learned lots this summer continuing to longboard, but I still need to relearn this bad boy lol
This is so usefull. I didn't think it would be so perfect in dept. Thanks!
awesome video! super smooth 👍🏼

Is wheel stiffness important here? Like will i be able to do this with 80a wheels?
Hey ronnie, could you do a tutorial to pick up your board in cool ways?
That could be fun! Only problem is that I don't know too many cool ways to pick up a board haha
Varsuro & Ronnie, in one of Hans W's videos, he teaches us how to pop it up high rather than bending down to pick the board up.

What size board are you riding?
Is it possible to perform this trick in a pintail shape board?
Yup, this can be done on a pintail, for sure! As long as the tail is big enough to get good leverage the lift up the board. You may need to scoop back much harder depending on the length of the board

What’s the trick called if I rotate the board the opposite direction?

Hey man,
I have 1 question,
I have a gravity drop model as longboard. Im doing more downhill/freeride. But do you think it is possible to do shove its or that kind of tricks on that model?
It's gonna be a bit more difficult without a kick, but not impossible. You could also try slide shove its if you are free riding.

if you scoop it right, you dont have to jump forward, but if while learning the board doesnt stay under you, jump to where your board is
