Printing name badges and other IDs using variable data AND the direct printing technology of UV printers is a win for business.
Name badges is just one example of a commercial application for real time, direct printing using variable data.
In this video you’ll see the Compress iUV600s flatbed uv printer software apply 3 different fields of variable data from a csv file to a piece of artwork, then print directly to off-the-shelf name badge blanks.
    • We start with artwork created in Photoshop.
    • Add text layers using an example Name, Title and Location.
    • Then apply a drop shadow effect to the location text.
    • Use the Designer software to tell the system just what to do, including applying that transform drop shadow to DIFFERENT TEXT as the graphics are populated by the variable data in the database file.
In this case we took our own ColDesi employee roster, saved it as a tab delimited text file and used that to populate the badges.
Let’s take a look at what printing name badges with variable data, using a uv printer, can make you on an hourly basis. We used our actual costs and online research to come up with these numbers:
We printed 48 different custom badges with the right Name, Title and Location on them in about 14 minutes.
If you were doing this as a business you’d have 2 jigs created so that reloading the bed is simple. Take a finished set off, then put the new set on and print.
14 minutes per set means you could produce 4 sets per hour or 192 badges per hour.
Our cost for the badges off of Amazon was $1.28, UV Ink cost for each was $.006 for a total COGS of $1.286, but we’ll round that up to $1.30 to make it easier.
We found sources online selling similar products for between $4.50 and $7.00 each. We’ll use $5.00 as an average.
    $5.00 x 192 badges per hour = $962 in sales production
    $1.30 Cost Each x 192 badges per hour = $249.60
    Gross profit = $712.40/hour
You may hear slightly different numbers on the video, but you can make your own estimations based on these actual cost numbers.
Printing with Variable Data with a UV Printer is fast and efficient when using the Compress iUV600s flatbed UV Printer from ColDesi.
All the software and the equipment shown in this video are included with the printer. So is Training on the applications and the printer itself.

I would recommend finding another company if you are looking for a UV Printer. I regret buying my iUV 600s, way too much wasted time as this thing has endless connection problems and Unknown errors. pretty sure they ship these things with a gremlin inside.

Does the same software come with the bigger version of the uv printer?

The bigger version is the iUV1200s. It' does come with both the Designer and the Rip software- neither comes with Photohop or CorelDraw - there are 2 free ware applications included with the rip for design - Inkscape and Gimp - but most people using the level of printer purchase Illustrator or Photoshop separately. You can get the details on what's included here compressuvprinter.com/led-uv-printer-iuv600s/

it is very bad machine because when we need to print 4 color + white it will not come 100% over, the white is like background line. so you cannot make easy production for full table, must be you need to go piece by piece it will take more time. Iam trying to put two piece together also i cant. so this machine not compatible to print white + colors like roland versa UV machine. it is mistake for my life i buy this machine.

Hi Ali, well I can tell you definitely did not buy the printer from ColDesi here in the US. Because if I understand you correctly, everything you're struggling with is fairly straightforward to do. When you purchase a Compress iUV600s or iUV1200s here from us you get extensive training and support - why don't you try reaching out to the dealer in your area?

@@mwasijulius4978 There are different "promoters" depending on the material. You'll need to get with your dealer for their recommended promoters for each substrate.. and if they're even needed at all.
