Underworld: Evolution (2006) was such a outstanding and incredible sequel on so many levels. The story, performance's, music, action sequences, special effects, and cinematography was amazing and wonderful. Kate Beckinsale and Scott Speedman did a phenomenal and spectacular job portraying Selene and Michael Corvin as they both put tons of emotion and depth into their roles. It was decent. To this day I still watch it and I consider it a classic. It never gets old.😍😎💯👍
Out of the three films, I love Underworld Evolution very DEEPLY much to the core. I've got a heart for the only elder I love dearly: Marcus Corvinus. I just wish that they have explored more of his origins of being the first vampire along side his twin brother William becoming the first werewolf, and the third unnamed brother that was mortal ;-;
That's the problem with the Underworld series. Every film introduces a new "most dangerous creature yet" and the story arcs aren't concluded. Michael, Marcus, Lucian, Quint from the fourth one, Marius from the fifth. Were all introduced as more deadly than the last and none of the stories were concluded. Still love the series though. The first is the best, the fourth definitely the weakest (only 88 minutes).

While Blood Wars didn't have great villains, no practical effects, not a very good story and just Kate Beckinsale and no Scott Speedman.
The little girl that plays young Selene is Lily Mo Sheen, the daughter of Kate Beckinsale and Michael Sheen. Zita Görög (Amelia) had to have her lines dubbed over because the microphones didn't pick up her voice. Tony Curran who portrayed the first vampire Marcus, portrayed a pure-blooded vampire named "Priest" in Blade II (2002). Kate Beckinsale wanted to use movies like Aliens (1986) and The Terminator (1984) as the basis for her role as an action heroine, but when they first talked about the movie, director and husband Len Wiseman suggested that she check out Russell Crowe in L.A. Confidential (1997) instead. The name Michael Corvin (Scott Speedman) was originally the intended name for the main character in The Crow: City of Angels (1996), which was changed to the name Ashe Corven. Krsy Fox's debut. Body Count: 62 Selene wields a pistol-grip Remington 870 Express Magnum with synthetic furniture and a tactical flashlight fixed to the end of the magazine tube, which she unloads into Marcus at point-blank range, to no avail. I remember seeing this when I was 16 in the Adirondacks with my sister The first movie was derivative and I fell asleep This one is dumb but I’m actually paying attention Glad too Selene and Michael consummate their relationship This leads to Awakening which I appreciate The franchise is campy as a whole but the action, the creatures, the gothic atmosphere, and its self-seriousness work in its favor It's like a big nu-metal soap opera Plus it introduced us to Kate Beckinsale as a bonafide action heroine True not all these movies are critical darlings but they do have their fan bases The mythology is expansive and intriguing There's a large collection of thespian actors elevating the material like Bill Nighy and Michael Sheen Great creature makeup effects and black leather attire matching the elaborate sets and European castle settings with the moonlight and shadow cinematography
