Dang that snake's camouflage was really impressive

If we were farther away that snake would be impossible to see

You don't show how you got a hold of the snake? C'mon that's the most interesting part.
seriously! what happened? I need to know...just in case
agree
I think it might have been because they don't want people trying this who don't know what they're doing and getting hurt or even killed. It's still a really awesome video though, and you definitely could find a video of a professional capturing and handling a snake like that.
It's so people dont try this at home

Really like your channel too Bob.
Looking forward to that!
That’s one thing I always wanted to do so thank you!!
awesome looking snake skin, looking forward to the preserving video.
Great video Shauna! I can't believe that Bob's pretty much blind and figures hey, let's mess with some Rattlesnakes and Prickly Pears :P While most of my favorite bushcrafters are here i figured i'd ask, Does anyone know what's going on with Bushcraft Heroes? Thanks guys.

A dangerous creature evolved over millions to have one of the most powerful venoms, perfectly suited to kill

One bearded boi

I remember my dad worked in the old fields in the late 70s and early 80s. He use to come home with dead rattlesnakes, he'd skinned them, prepared the meat, cooked it. The skin, he will give them to his brother, and he'll make wallets and belts out off them. The rattler tails he'd give them to me and my sister, of course my uncle will make for us necklaces, earrings, key chains and all kinds of things.
Great memory!
I can imagine snake being delicious AF ...
It's like jerky, it's that tough
They would taste so good
In actual fact most reptiles are not great eating.
Alligator is so snake should be worth a try
@Draggy654 ive had rattlesnake and it is delicious
The most gentle creature in nature. The only one that will actively warn you before he nails you. And great eating too.
Awwww that was kinda sad when they cut the head off and the rattling stopped😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Cringey emojis
rattlesnakes are a pest, they have no regard for you or your family. think of it like a giant slithering shark. its good to see them beheaded.
Its funny
@@username4441 They're not pest and what has a shark ever done to you the defending them selves from humans so we're the pests
@@username4441 have you heard of a thing called the "ecosystem"? People don't foret to mention we're on top of the food chain, but there are many links to that chain and other predators. We need predators like that in the wild to control other animal populations. Sharks are extremely important to the wellbeing of our oceans. And if the snakes don't eat the mice and frogs, do you volunteer to eat them?
I just been binge watching your videos and as a Oji-cree First Nation Indian (Ojibwe and Cree) I admire the way you are with; the outdoors life, respecting nature's gifts, sharing wisdom, and teaching others. “Mmm... pretty tasty.”
Snake, huh..? I wonder about it's taste.
Snakes...can't trust em. You cut their heads off yet they're still moving. What, is there another head ready to pop out underneath ?! Snakes...can't trust em!
Yeah, and they can still bite too!
At first I was thinking "What is this sorcery!?" And then I remembered there's probably still a small electrical current inside the brain. Plus, the exact same thing happened to humans when they were decapitated via guillotine. There are records of the decapitated heads biting the hands of the person holding it up right after it has been chopped off. This is also why they hold the head up, to show the slowly dying head its severed connection between its body and its head. This effect happens for about 10 seconds and it's kinda freaky but cool!
It's actually longer than 10 seconds. I've read about this subject and if I can recall correctly, it was around a few minutes. A decapitated criminal lifted his eyelids multiple times after hearing his name called. You can probably find the exact study if you google a bit.
Thanks for the info!
Heh, I read this in my head with Alex Jones voice. Just suites.
Bob was awesome, thanks for having him on!
That lady needs a new ring because her finger is GREEN from that fake silver lol
MR SK1LLFUL lmaoo I was scrolling the comments to see who else noticed
Sammme
Sterling silver sometimes does that. It's over 90% silver by weight, but the rest of that is usually copper, which can cause discoloration.
It's just copper oxidisation which is completely harmless to the skin and usually washes off but will continue to come back if the ring is untreated.
The vast majority of silver jewellery contains copper including sterling silver which is 92.5% silver, 7.5% copper.
I'd be more inclined to say silver jewellery that doesn't have this effect is fake unless it's certified 99.9% pure silver.
Some people believe copper bracelets and rings can help to prevent arthritis although no studies can prove it, most studies however can prove that once you have arthritis it does not help to negate the effects.
MR SK1LLFUL I love how this simple comment attracted so many nerds😂 reading the replies is really fun😐
Great. Two favorite subs. Good to see Bob is better.
Love your Chanel. Theirs lots doing bushcraft but no one does it like you.. respect from the UK
One of my favorite times of year when I was growing up was the Rattlesnake Roundup, my dad and I ate snake every time, with hush puppies, slaw and mountain dew..... ahhh the good ol days...
Great memory!!
dude! i have very well memories of going there and eating the snake meat since i was little i was a bit skeptical but i quickly realized its was delicious
I`m thinking it`s not much different than frog legs or alligator.
Yea, sort of a mix between fish and chicken.... in my opinion, especially when breaded and fried.
you shouldn't eat too much snake, high mercury content in them
Nice. I just watched episode 1 & 2 of Season 3 back-to-back. I must admit, I don't watch television that much as the content doesn't interest me, but good UA-cam channels like these are different. There's superior content and less commercials. Looks like I have a new channel to watch every Tuesday and Friday - subbed and good job.

Gaelic yeah. Snake meat is kinda taste like Garlic Children.
I'm from Los Altos de Jalisco, Mexico, I've been through southern Texas a few times and the wilderness is very similar to what we have here. We have hundreds of Nopales (cactus) here and Tunas (prickly pear) as well of course, I always eat the seeds, you're okay as long as you don't eat too many, if you do you'll be constipated for a few days, but its not that bad.
This popped in my feed because I guess it was in an old playlist. Hopefully Bob is doing ok these days. One of the original and most authentic survivalists on UA-cam for sure

Spicy Danger Ramen
Been there, done that... I've eaten rattlesnake. It was quite tasty, grilled over mesquite, even if I didn't have the benefit of pre-packaged adobo spice.
On a further note, I wiped out on a dirt bike when I was about 16 and ended up wearing dozens of prickly pears... I believe I still have quills 40 years later!
Ouch!
Always wanted a rattlesnake skin belt.
inkblotCrisis a lot of people are against that so to avoid judgement you can just get a fake one that still looks like the real thing
WHY WOULD YOU USE AN INNOCENT SNAKE FOR AN ACCESSORY?
AK Reptile because wasting the skin is less humane. I mean don’t kill a snake just for the skin, but if you ate the meat, saving the skin is good too.
ur a disgraz3 too humenitie what did snake ever do to u? email this to peta and reported!
11swallowedinthesea I’m not against eating snakes they are pretty good but yes I think the snake was pretty harmless I would’ve only killed it if it was bothering me

Putting out of its misery huh? Nope. Its head may be gone but it can still feel assholes it just cant breathe.
@@roaninlee7818 Yeah, decapitation isn't humane. That goes for any animal. Destroying the brain instantly, or shutting it down slowly and painlessly is the only humane death. It's certainly not as elegant or humane "feeling," but crushing its entire head with a strong blow from a hammer or large rock is the nicest way to kill it.
Roanin Lee
Is the nerve ya idiot it’s dead but the nerve is still working
@@glut4473 No it isn't, you don't know anything about reptiles. "Although meaning certain death, decapitation is certainly not a rapid or humane way of killing reptiles. As hard to believe as it seems, the heads cut from reptiles live on well after the horrific event of decapitation itself. It is not a case of 'nerves causing the head to move unconsciously' as most people think. The heads, and parts of the neck if still attached, are alive and some may attempt to bite objects which approach; the eyes may follow movement and the pupils contract and dilate in response to light and dark; they can blink and in the case of snakes and lizards, flick out and in their tongues to test the air for scent and even move slightly if enough of their neck is left."
@@Schnozinski most animals that are decapitated are still alive a

Are the organs edible
In essence, you’re not really decapitating the snake... you’re just making it a lot shorter.
Ethan Castaneda I mean your not wrong... it ain’t dead til... well, until it’s dead
Its not dead when you cut its head off its just suffocating because reptiles can live without air for quite a while, so in a sense they are just making it suffer then roasting it FFS
