...yesss, totally agree ~ love him too 🥰😍🥰 he's such a lovely man and brilliant actor (as he proves currently with ‘Out There’ again) and he was superb in William & Mary ☺️.
Not sure I can offer much sympathy to an actor about having to do keep doing the same thing night after night. My grandfather drove a bus for 10 hours a day, 5 days a week, driving the same route 5 times a day for 8 years, the closest he got to a change was doing overtime on a Saturday and driving a different route. I worked in a factory where one of the women had worked on the same production line making the same product for 8 hours every day, for 22 years. Most people do boring repetitive jobs that don't pay all that well and that we don't like doing for years and years because we have no choice, the reasons we have actors is to offer some opportunity to escape from that dull repetition. I've always liked Martin, he comes across as a down to earth normal bloke doing something he enjoys. I hope he continues to do so for many more years.
@jaidee9570: As a grandfather who drove Busses for over 20 years, mostly in the London area, can honestly say though repetitive, no day was the same although incidents repeat themselves. So don't feel too bad for grandad. Can honestly say as far as job security and income it was relatively well paid and unlike today, the hours spent behind the wheel were much shorter - at least in the UK.
His father , Alec took over the part of Henry Higgins in the original stage production of “My Fair Lady” at Drury Lane when Harrison left the show as Sigourney Weaver wasn’t available at the time
Such a funny man and great actor. What a fun interview 😊 and even better with Stephen Fry involved. I miss Parkinson, truly a wonderful show.
