Hey man. I'm trying to make some soda. I have a nukatap with a flow control will that be sufficient? I read that flow control needs to be before the faucet. Any opinions? It would be cool if i didn't have to put a secondary flow control and just connect directly to ball lock with faucet. I don't have kegerator setup and am doing directly in a fridge and bottling
Juiced some strawberries, pasteurized the juice, and added it to a keg of water for some sparkling water goodness. Always nice to have a non-alcoholic something on tap. 😃
Is it possible to carbonate room temperature water, then chill after? My idea is to switch between two kegs in my normal refrigerator. Having one being carbonated outside of the refrigerator at room temp while having the other pre-carbonated chilling in the refrigerator.
Do you set pressure and keep connected over the entire time or set pressure and disconnect co2 line? Trying to make some soda over here and have carbonation lid on a corny and set to 60 psi at 55f and completely flat after 24h
I've been working the same problem. At room temperature + 60 psi it would carbonate after a day or two, but go flat immediately upon violently serving. About 30 psi and chilled to just above freezing gets me very carbonated product after about 2 days that serves well. Good luck.
@JohnMarkDraper thanks dude. Yeah I'm in the exact same thing right now. Do you bottle? I'm currently getting decently carbonated soda, but when you pop the cap it makes a loud bang and the cap shoots about 50 feet in the air
I do this all the time. Drink way more sparkling water than beer. Also a big fan of vodka sodas on tap, works great with the flavored vodka. 3 750s of vodka + top up the keg with water is so much better than the malt-based sparkling seltzers.
@@aaroncattpropertymanagement 3 bottles of deep eddy orange, top up 5 gallon keg with filtered water. Carbonate. Also the mixed berry recipe on brulosophy site is great.
How long will it last? I want to get a bunch of syrup or concentrate. It would be nice to have options. Just curious if how long it stays fresh. Great video
@@MoreBeer_several reviews about a missing o-ring, did you have any issues with leaks or are these just upset customers that couldn’t figure out how to solve the problem? I’ve been considering adding a flow control tap and have regular perlick faucets right now, is there a big enough difference in quality to consider nukataps and is there truly an issue without the o-ring?
To make club soda for a five gallon batch I will dissolve in a cup of hot water 1.5 teaspoons of the following: Sodium Bicarbonate (baking soda), non-iodize table salt (iodine will leave a not so good flavor) and food grade potassium carbonate. Add the cup of those dissolved salts in the keg and fill up with water. And continue on as in with the video to carbonate. The salts in club soda will help balance out the carbonic acid of the dissolve CO2 gas. Home made club soda makes for a good Italian soda.
Great content! I always try to have carbonated water on tap. I do think that with these keezer series, you could go into quick carb methods - rolling, carb stone, etc. With hop water video, are you planning to go into water chemistry, at least pH and contrast adding hops to cold vs hot water?
Hadn’t really thought about that but I love the idea of keeping something non-alcoholic in the kegerator! A carbonated fruit punch might be good- the Tang idea got me thirsty though- curse you MOREBEER! looks like I’m kegging tonight! Right on guys thank you!
I've made carbonated water many times, but I have well water, which I wanted to sanitize before kegging. In my opinion, carbonated mineral water is far more flavorful and enjoyable than the typical low-mineral municipal water. If I am going to boil to sanitize, I could also adjust the mineral content. Looking at the TDS contents of natural mineral water sold in Europe, the better ones are higher in Mg. So, adding MgSO4, which dissolves fairly easily, to the water while boiling greatly improves the flavor. Just stay below about 150ppm Mg, unless you also want a laxative. This water is also a great addition to a pint of beer at the tap - make a heavy beer less heavy or make double IPA into an IPA with 1:5 water to beer.
I love this idea. It's basically a SodaStream that doesn't suck as much haha thanks! I've heard carbonation can weaken bones, makes me wonder if other gasses like Nitrogen do the same. ---OK and this next part is admittedly nonsense but idk why I find it fascinating haha --- 3:11 "Ba-da-boom, ba-da-bing!" not sure why I get a kick out of this, but I've always heard it said "ba-da-bing, Ba-da-boom!" lol. It's silly but it sounded so foreign to me, which made me wonder where the idiom even came from and it's original meaning for its time - for example, some part of me always thought it was about bombs, and you make the detonator go" bing" before it goes "boom". Or maybe it's an imitation of an epic drum accompanying sound, so I'd think ending with a boom would serve to pique audience interest and a bing is like the fake bass drop to build anticipation for the boom 😆
Don't bury the headline....badda boom! 😜 IDK why I said it backwards. When the camera bings I go 💥 and can't think straight lol. cheers 🍻 loved reading this one! ❤️
Having carbonated water on tap at all times is this easy! So why haven't you been doing it!? 😉
I did it once on accident! Took a (pressurized) keg of water to the Boonville Beer fest to stay hydrated, and upon first tapping I had soda water!😁

Such a great idea, so simple!
good stuff. need to try and i have a flavoring for it

Sounds amazing! Gotta have something for everyone on tap! 🍻
I've been making carbonated water but hadn't thought about using my extra flow control faucet! thanks for the great tip!!
Glad it was helpful! Cheers! 🍻

will have to try with my favorate flavor. thanks
Do you have a list for beginners of the items that I need to build one?

I’m having a ton of issues with breakout upon pouring. Is a flow regulated tap 100% necessary to avoid foaming up or flat seltzer?
Awesome! Going to do this asap!

Is this really any cheaper than just buying it? Isn't that equipment kind of expensive?
