When the original plastic army box came out, I missed the sale from GW and asked if any of my mates could get one for me from local suppliers. Then I found a box myself. Two of my friends then said they'd managed to buy boxes for me, including one from Germany.
So that's how I ended up with three of the army box sets...

I bought a battle sisters box, some Paragon war suits and celestine 3 years ago. Painted the battle sisters and thought "i wonder how much i need for a 2k points army". Did the math, then sold units i had once i got to the final number.
That was in 9th but still.

Definitely check around for 2nd hand Sisters lots if you're interested in the army. Lots of people buy into Sisters and give up when they see how small and detailed the minis are.
Yeah second hand market is great for any army, but certainly a useful one for sisters!
I recently got into sisters after been wanting to for years and the prices are insane. I'm just content to collect whatever discount boxes I can get and just ignore them otherwise.

So the triumph is expensive, but when you think of it as 6 canonesses glued on the same base, 74£ for 6 characters and the entire casket worth of kitbashing then it's actually not that bad. Been planning on picking one up for the random characters all over sisters

Another reason why Kill Team is so baller. I got a sisters boarding patrol at 50% off. Can go nuts on every unit for my team, and have a bunch of extras for dnd heros and kitbashing. or sell the rest for a 100% free kill team.
Those point costs are insane. It must be so painful to be a 40k player.

Also how a Repentia squad of 10 is 180 points for £37, and 10 sacresants would be 150 points for £80. Even worse £37, 10 acro flatulents is also 150 points. Mind boggling

Top tip for collecting sisters, if you pick up the kill team novitiates box you can use most of them in there to proxy all of the on foot HQs in the army and you save a looooot of money

My mate has over a couple of years bought me 2 boxes of sisters and they look amazing and are so detailed to paint they are a bit of a nightmare, but looking at that price just puts me off getting any more!
Yeah they amount of detail in them is crazy!
If you are looking into sisters, as others have said, 2nd hand is a good option- also remember they were in the old Imperium Magazine, and Sisters and AdMech issues seem to be the two groups from that that are heavily available on ebay and other resale sites (you'll pay more than retail for the magazine, but still might be cheaper than LGS prices for some units!)

Just finished a sisters armies in the last year. It was certainly my most expensive army. It dosnt really have a good collection box atm your mostly buying individual pieces to get what you want. The old CP box really wasn’t great either but did get my rhinos I didn’t wanna solo buy

I believe Arcoflagellants were introduced in Dan Abnett's Eisenhorn series (not are if he just came up with them, or GW asked him to include one).
Basically they are people who've committed religious crimes (probably minor ones, since you do anything major you're likely to be executed) so are turned into murder servitors. Notably they aren't sisters, they are just random initial citizens who didn't religion hard enough.

The Helms, which ofc are grafted onto their brains, also flood their senses with like Angelic Visions of (40k)Heaven and iirc it's actually just instinctive rage brought on by the all the combat drug injectors (and other techno-doodads) that controls their bodies. So basically the Arco-flagellant thinks they are chilling on a cloud hearing heavenly choirs and chatting with the emperor, while really they are just flailing around madly killing everything in sight and flagellating themselves when there's nothing nearby. It's all in a White Dwarf article that had lore for a new 'Inquisitor' model, i think he was called Damian 42x or something. I must admit the helms used to have a more distinctive religious-y looking design (and i think a name) and the newer models don't really so maybe the lore changed.
the arco-flagellant are meant to be based on someone whipping themselves for sinning, as a form of repentance for what they've done.

I have about 10 K Sisters Of battle army. I started collect those at first release, second edition, I think. So I have about 100 metal miniatures and all versions of Immolator as Citaldel Miniatures (No Forge world stuff).

So I had been thinking about getting a sisters army as they sound fun but after this I'm not so sure. I'm possibly tempted by the imperial agents box that'll have them in it to run alongside my astra Militarum

I have 6000pts of sisters so yea I know the pain of this, but they are just so cool and I buy new stuff every now and then instead of all at once

My local hobby store still has the old combat patrol for $120 got 2 of them now i have probably north of 2500 pts of sisters never really thought about what it cost no I feel a little sick lol but definitely the best looking army in the game and a top performer can't complain it's just money

I'm didn't expect to ever get a sisters army beyond a boarding action party, but the models are just so much better than the trash we SM players are fed its insane. The price though... ugh...
I just started right in time to get one of the old combat patrol boxes and the army box - which in my case was just good timing. I don't think that box would be any good for long time collectors...
I've ended up with 1x old combat patrol box, 1x new one, 1x army of faith (the army box), 1x retributors, 1x sisters of battle, 1x dogmata, 1x hospitaler, 1x that character with banner (to be used a priest and imagifier) and one unit baby carriers.... lucky i have a 20+% discount at my local store, but man even with 3 boxed sets and discounts... GW is insane with their current pricing.
That sounds like it got out of hand after the board actions box....

I'd rather make a catholic themed SM chapter and use sisters rules. Hell, get you some Dark Angels models/bitz for the winged angel motif, they'd look really good in the color scheme of a sisters faction.

I think rule of cool is always the main thing with us!
Same here I just really don’t like the model personally (not saying it’s a bad one) and the rules for it are pretty terrible compared to (in my opinion) cooler models like the palatine or hospitaller. Though I guess it depends on what lost u run, having a unit with great oc stand on an objective with another unit and hospitaller is garunteed vp every turn
