That same spark we had in the losses to Dallas and Indy? Fields is not it, stop having a short memory. Russ needs protection to make throw; if a QB is constantly under duress, it doesn’t matter who it is, they will struggle.
@ my point is Russ doesn’t have PROTECTION!! So Russ can’t play how we need too lol fields can atleast extend plays and in fields defense 6 games doesn’t define what he could do if given more time. And fields wasn’t given a chance to run these plays Russ is getting called
I see what you’re saying, but I have to disagree. Fields had six games to lock up the job and couldn’t because of his inconsistency in making reads and throws. When he couldn’t run to compensate for that, he was atrocious. Russ can make the reads, throws and even has success with his legs, and I will take that over the explosive but easy to make one dimensional Fields. I understand wanting a change after a three game losing streak, but Fields wasn’t winning those games either. Those teams are simply better.
@@JohnDavis087That makes sense, and I don’t think you’re wrong per se. I just think that the offense is too green right now and needs the veteran leadership from a QB like Russ. Do I think Fields can be the future? Yes. But he needs a better supporting cast to help him, and we just don’t have that this year.
Simple, all new players, the same results. What's the common denominator? It doesn't matter who we play in the playoffs when your team is internally broken.

Dan you are right, We can't blame everything on the head coach. But guess what..? We pittsburgh haven't won a playoff game since 2016... Who fault is that DAN..?
@manolopmb who kept canada around for 4 years? Who decides game plans, schemes, clock management, adjustments at half time? That was all perfection? We just had zero talent since 2017? Tomlin has no say I. That tho. The draft, free agency? When is the head coach accountable?
All these issues belong to Tomlin. It has been this way since he arrived 17 years ago. It is like watching "Groundhog Day" 17 times in a row. Nothing will change until he is gone. That is not going to happen anytime soon because winning is not a priority. DEI is!
All that Hard Knocks good feel is melting quick. Tomlin is getting out coached and I think the players see that it's not a lot different from them there Canada days. We don't take early leads, we are hit and miss on responding, we certainly do not impose ourselves on to the other teams and we don't make the playoffs. Cowher was always getting his coaching staff's poached. Not Tomlin.
We had High Hopes High in the sky hopes! Reality is what it is. The Steelers are what they are. They're doing a competitive rebuild. Next years team will look completely different team. Once again. They got at least 2 games left. Enjoy them. Who wouldn't have been happy at the beginning of the season knowing the Steelers made the playoffs. Here WE Go Steelers Here WE Go!
Wasn't it the Cowboys game when Pickens was jogging his routes? Did Tomlin change to Russ because of Pickens? I say JF + Warren + 2 tight ends. Sit Pickens and trade his ass off the team.
I think PQ said it best in a tweet; Regroup and Refocus. Now that we’re out of that horrible schedule situation we have time to see what works well…The offensive line isn’t good enough to compete against elite teams. That’s my take away from the 3 horrible games. I feel like we need to revisit what’s going on with Roman Wilson. This offense needs an another gear. Take nothing away from CA3, he’s had a good season. Look at the rookie wide receiver from the Chargers. He’s provided some productivity for that offense and I feel like Roman Wilson could do the same for ours if he’s given a chance. Najee and CP aren’t fast enough. We need speed we need field flipping players. J1Q, what do you think about Steven Sims? He was with us two seasons ago and he was kind of speedy/shifty. The Texans released him. Defensively I’m not gonna be too critical on those guys simply because Tomlin always puts the pressure on them. I feel like he needs to put more energy into the offense and help Smith figure it out.
Strength of will and confidence are crucial qualities to being a greaty football coach. Confidence needs to be bridled by humility. Stubborness is great when you are right, terrible when you are wrong. I wish he would reach out to one of his mentors like Tony Dungy to get better grounded.
It’s all about fundamentals, the little things. Great teams like KC do all the little things right, they overcome their flaws with fundamentally sound performances. The Patriots did this too.
I don't usually do what most do when blaming coaches, but I'm questioning two in particular, O'line coach and defensive coordinator coordinator as a problem.
The title of this episode made me snort out loud and break into laughter. The NFL's most delusional and stubborn coach is going to "change" in the last week of the season?
Happy to say I was never on the "sign Najee now" bandwagon. His handful of good games earlier in the year were just that, a handful of good games. Showing up every week is great, but playmaking actually wins games. Jalen & Patterson have been better backs since day 0.
I agree with you DK 💯 re: Sutton! The last thing that locker room needed after ejecting Deante J from the team, was to bring another obviously troubled player like Sutton back into that locker room!
Mike T is the ideal candidate. Our defensive coordinator should be replaced immediately. It's unacceptable that, with a player of Watt's caliber, we cannot generate sufficient pressure, especially considering Cameron's strong performance.
@Nice_Tokes Fire Mike Tomlin and I promise we will be a better team... until then, we will always lose around playoffs time... Tomlin is a friend to the locker room... We need a Head Coach 💯
@@jameslee8519 - you win for having the most complacent sounding comment of the day. It’s like having a QB that’s ok… not garbage and not pro bowl caliber and sticking with them because top draft prospects aren’t guaranteed to work out.
@@JachinReedyok so if we fire Tomlin what are the chances we get a new coach and succeed? Look at the bears they have been through lord knows how many coaches and never won nothing because it's not always just on the head coach players have to execute plays and when half our secondary isn't trying this is the product. It's more on Teryl Austin than anybody his generic 3-4 zone defense is so predictable that even rookie QBs can shred our secondary with ease. Sadly everyone just blames one person when this is a team sport. If we're gonna fire Tomlin we might as well just get rid of all the players and completely start over...
The the offense is definitely hampered by only one true X receiver, but down the stretch in this losing streak, the guards have given up too much pressure in these last three games, and the O-line has struggled as a group, the key for Russell being successful has to be the guards holding their ground and they have been bull rushed way too many times in this three game streak
It’s an entire team issue.. it’s 3 straight weeks of turning the ball over in the red zone, it’s busted coverages, missing out on getting fumble recoveries/dropping INTs and poor game planning on defense. It’s predictable play calling. Just look how the first drive broke down on Wednesday.. a sack/fumble sets them back 10 yards on 3rd and 2.. instead of punting and pinning the Chiefs back inside the 20, we punt a modest punt and allow a massive return and a short field. We don’t get off the field on 4th down on their ensuing drive and it leads to 6 points. Everything that could’ve gone wrong, went wrong from the first snap to the final whistle.
Fun fact for sacks: While the majority of all sacks by all teams come from the DL, the Steelers only have 1.5 sacks outside of theirs. Bishop has .5 sacks and Roberts has 1.0 sacks. ZERO sacks from their starting ILBs and ZERO from any S… this means nearly ZERO creating blitzes and they’re needed because they rank 17th in total sacks. Larry O has 1.5 and Benton has ZERO while Adams, Lowry and Smith all have a single sack a piece. This is what a defense designed by Tomlin and implemented Austin looks like 🤷♂️
Warren needs to start, and get the high majority of RB touches. He averages almost a full yard per carry more than Najee (career), and should have been starting as soon as he was healthy. Broderick Jones is a natural LT, and should have been there all along. Now you're weak at BOTH tackle positions instead of one. Mike Williams should not only start, but get a generous amount of targets per game. Why did you even bother trading for him? Last season, Mason Rudolph should have started sooner rather than later. What was he doing behind even Trubitsky on the depth chart? After the Steelers lost 45-42 to the Jaguars in the playoffs, they release their OFFENSIVE coordinator! How can you win a Super Bowl when you don't even know your own personnel?
DK, with how the last few weeks have gone is Russ still the “shoe in” for QB next year? Obviously the struggles are larger than just Russ, but I’d be lying if I said I don’t want more out of the QB position
DK it’s just my opinion but o believe Fields is more suited for this O line because of his legs, Fields was getting better by the games he played, wasn’t like he was playing bad, he had 1 turnover in 6 games where Wilson now has 8 of them in 10 games and 2 of them caused TDs and I don’t recall Fields being the reason that we loss games where I can’t say that about Wilson, people are acting like Wilson was the next coming then when you look at the first 6 games for both QBs Justin was just as good as Wilson and even better because he had a better red zone percentage and we can argue Fields should be 5-1 but our defense couldn’t hold a nosebleed against the cowboys when Fields put us in position to win that game, I just believe this Wilson thing is over blown because of a moon ball when Fields has just as a good deep ball as anyone in the NFL, am I wrong if so let me know thanks
For the records, Kelsey is always open against all teams! There isn’t a team out there, that can cover Kelsey! He always finds the open areas In any defense…That’s why Maholmes & he, are the best in the league, hands down!!! 😤😪😳
KP8, Najee, Kendrick Green, Austin over Flores, etc... are just a few of the recent missteps. When you have an ego the size of the Grand Canyon, it's hard to admit when you're wrong.
So funny how everybody seem to forget we had the hardest schedule this year wasn’t even supposed to be over 500 and then when we lose to three good teams in 11 days all the tomlin haters pop up we talking about the team with a new offensive coordinator, new offensive line, new quarterbacks, and everybody expect us to go deep in the playoffs get real Including DK get real
Don’t understand on any 3rd down less than 2 yards, the play call is always a pass of more than 15yards. Never a quick pass play for 4 yards and a first down. Getting the first down should be the priority.
Wait… if Tomlin needs to admit he was wrong on Najee, when is he going to admit he was wrong about Wilson? The guy is killing us and is was TOMLIN GREAT DECISION to start Wilson over Fields… Why is Pittsburgh content on wasting this season proving Wilson is a still a mediocre QB. Is it really more important to prove Wilson is a has been than to give Fields the opportunity HE EARNED to be the future for this team… it’s HANDING TRUBISKY THE JOB ALL OVER AGAIN
Take out Sutton, & put Beanie Bishop back in. He was having a hell of a season! Sutton is the weak link in the Defense… Give Beanie much more playing time!!! 👍🏻😳
I think all the fans and the media was so happy seeing RUST Wilson put up the 50/50 balls agianst junk teams and bad defensive fronts. Everyone should have known when we beat or watched the ravens beat there selves. This offense with him was trash. No true redzone play should have been a eye opener. But nope we saw junk plays and got all happy.
@Zyreath Fields is trending towards being a 1st rd bust. It's year 4 for him and he still can't make pre-snap reads. Fields is going to sign somewhere else and once again be replaced by a 1st rd draft pick within 2 seasons.
The way I see it, not winning the division is a blessing in disguise. I’d prefer away at Houston than home with Baltimore 😮 Treat bengals week as a bye/rest players and keep prepping for Houston.
DK ME AGAIN love the talk show but when Najee first got the job and I watch him play I said he’s not the guy none of the receivers know how to run routes except for Freiermuth Jp. Jr is not the guy.
@ I think I can just accept failure with a young 26 year old qb n I can’t with a 40 year old vet who’s supposed to be “proven”
See ya Monday DK ❤
Simple, all new players, the same results. What's the common denominator? It doesn't matter who we play in the playoffs when your team is internally broken.
Mike tomlin has to go Man... I'm sorry, But I can't go another season with not making it to the playoffs...
We are in the playoffs already and we made the playoffs last season
@@MarvyG238-11 post season record. I'm so happy about all these .500 seasons though! Soooo excited to watch them get smoked in the post season like last year
@MarvyG23 lmmfao... Got knocked out, and who was our quarterback..? Rudolph..!!! So stop it, Mike Tomlin has and needs to go...
I think tomlin has gotten more risk averse and reluctant to change as he’s gotten older. Maybe it’s ego, maybe it’s “living in his fears.”
@@JachinReedy😂 you should probably edit your initial comment then. If you meant you can’t go another year losing the first round of the playoffs then say that. 🤦♂️ Don’t move the goal post once someone points out the flaw in your statement
Dan you are right, We can't blame everything on the head coach. But guess what..? We pittsburgh haven't won a playoff game since 2016... Who fault is that DAN..?
The organization because none of them rosters was playoff caliber after the 2017 team so tomlin getting them there shouldn’t be overlooked
@@manolopmbtomlin has no say in the roster?
@manolopmb who kept canada around for 4 years? Who decides game plans, schemes, clock management, adjustments at half time? That was all perfection? We just had zero talent since 2017? Tomlin has no say I. That tho. The draft, free agency? When is the head coach accountable?
Who's Dan?!
If we’re at the point we need a motivational speaker we’re doomed.
By the way DK, we did bring back Eric Rowe to the PS, maybe he can help
Coach T. Get your house in order.
All these issues belong to Tomlin. It has been this way since he arrived 17 years ago. It is like watching "Groundhog Day" 17 times in a row. Nothing will change until he is gone. That is not going to happen anytime soon because winning is not a priority. DEI is!
Opposing defenses are getting pressure with 4 man rushes!! It's the o-line!!
Because they run 99% of the time on first down, now you are in obvious pass situation! O line is put in impossible situation, too predictable
Not Tomlin.
Tomlin Is Not A Capable Head Coach.
Brings In Subpar Coordinators And,
Position Coaches, He Has A Character,
Flaw, He's Never Wrong In His Head.
I thought everybody wants to play for and run through a wall for Tomlin so how come we always have this problem
Agree on the Sutton situation. Not the best move. Trouble invites trouble.
Think back. Almost everyone wanted Moore gone Daniels goes down. Basically 3 rooks and Moore. On the OL.
I think it's Minkah too!
Yeah there's been talk about people trying to play hero ball, cam sutton ain't tryna play hero ball he's just trying to not look like a lost puppy 😭
@stantonsmith3677 I'd call out Larry O too!! He isn't creating any pressure and can't run down a rb
@@phil3560 yeah he's been quiet this yeah and just kinda looks slow
I don't care who fits what scheme...play your best players on both sides of the ball.
Your asking Tomlin to do something he is incapable of...think...
Tomlin does have the balls to make change because he is clueless.
This Jv coach must go. Rooney needs to make changes, not Tomlin. I’m fed up.
I don't usually do what most do when blaming coaches, but I'm questioning two in particular, O'line coach and defensive coordinator coordinator as a problem.
Let's see if we see change for the Bengals game.
Fields should start more of a threat to Defense
Justin Fields should've never been demoted from QB1 he was getting way better and also was point up more points each week he started
Nothing will change until Rooney makes a change!
🍺🍺🍺🍺
Mike T is the ideal candidate. Our defensive coordinator should be replaced immediately. It's unacceptable that, with a player of Watt's caliber, we cannot generate sufficient pressure, especially considering Cameron's strong performance.
@Nice_Tokes Fire Mike Tomlin and I promise we will be a better team... until then, we will always lose around playoffs time... Tomlin is a friend to the locker room... We need a Head Coach 💯
@@JachinReedysorry it won't happen and there's no Guarantee the next coach is gonna do anything
@@jameslee8519 - you win for having the most complacent sounding comment of the day.
It’s like having a QB that’s ok… not garbage and not pro bowl caliber and sticking with them because top draft prospects aren’t guaranteed to work out.
Who is Brock Purdy?
@@JachinReedyok so if we fire Tomlin what are the chances we get a new coach and succeed? Look at the bears they have been through lord knows how many coaches and never won nothing because it's not always just on the head coach players have to execute plays and when half our secondary isn't trying this is the product. It's more on Teryl Austin than anybody his generic 3-4 zone defense is so predictable that even rookie QBs can shred our secondary with ease. Sadly everyone just blames one person when this is a team sport. If we're gonna fire Tomlin we might as well just get rid of all the players and completely start over...
Such a disappointing turn on and off the field. But, we still have Sid ❤
"We going to unleash hell" We all still waiting after all these years.......Tomlin needs to go, the man is the the problem.
Fun fact for sacks:
While the majority of all sacks by all teams come from the DL, the Steelers only have 1.5 sacks outside of theirs.
This is what a defense designed by Tomlin and implemented Austin looks like 🤷♂️
We need a explosive interior dline
@ - correct!
Dk we as steelers fans are sick of average mike. We want a sb! Tomlin has worn out his stay.
I don't know if Sutton is the problem. But I do know he is not good enough for the Lions.
Same with Percy Harvin, MT just doesn't want to look bad.
All talk and no action.......sounds like "Coach T"!!!! #Balderdash
Matt Canada being kicked off the island was caused by player outbursts I believe
For the records, Kelsey is always open against all teams! There isn’t a team out there, that can cover Kelsey! He always finds the open areas
In any defense…That’s why Maholmes & he, are the best in the league, hands down!!!
Step up and call out Minka, don’t just call out one player for this 3 game debacle!
What is beating my dog have to do with me playing football 🏈
Yeah everything’s gone to hell but… LETS GO STEELERS! Big game in cincy!
And it would have been any different with fields ? 😂😂😂😂
@@Keefer24Fields can throw a ball and can escape most sacks… Wilson is too old and washed… he has no explosiveness

DK ME AGAIN love the talk show but when Najee first got the job and I watch him play I said he’s not the guy none of the receivers know how to run routes except for Freiermuth Jp. Jr is not the guy. Like I said, if the guys upfront don’t get to the quarterback, it’s a kid in the candy store for the QBs just pay attention to what I just mentioned and you will see that I’m right. They suck. The headcoach sucks. All he does is talk. Nothing changes. Get rid of him. All u people do is talk talk talk. Sickening display of football. Hot Dogging and no discipline by certain players. Nothing is done to change the team. Same old talk. It's Sick. Put some guys in who want to play. They suck, plain and simple. Going nowhere. What a joke. U say trust the process. What a horsecrap statement. No effort by the lineman. No pride, where's the effort to block your dam man.All u guys do is talk about your coach. It's his fault. I'm done here. They are done. Go fishing. Steelers lifelong fan from Canada. I'm from Saskatchewan. You will probably need an atlas. Look in up.
I hear what you’re saying DK and a lot of is the truth, but Coach T is not out on the field and then some of them plays that Arthur Smith called with some bonehead plays, but the principal is we are still in good position. They should not be talking about firing the coach they should be talking about a gut check about these players and buying into play as a team cause when you watch the game you don’t see everybody hustling Look how Cincinnati Bengals are playing right now. You gotta play hungry no matter what.
The changes should be more jaylen warren less najee or 50/50.get cam sutton out the game more beanie bishop.less darnell washington more receivers gettn open early so linemen only have to block 2.3 secs cuz they cant give russ 2.5 secs at times.get george pickens the ball the first drive get him goin not just to the outside but on slants drags or angle routes.get pat the ball often and the rbs the ball often.and russ keep scrambling when nothin open.offense players protect the ball.and everybody else force fumbles jump on the ball.defenders jus gotta play more zone w no joey and carry their zone to the next guy execute their assignments.patrick queen carry it to minkah minkah carry it til the qb looks elsewhere unless the qb scrambling or the rb runnin if we see that u go tackle that player
Smith isn't then issue. The stupid penalties turnovers and execution is the problem
Doesn't this happen year after year? At what point does it stop, why does it continue to happen? It's Groundhog Day over and over.
It all starts at the top management for keep resigning Tomlin, they didn't draft Brian Thomas Jr for there #2 wr. They resigned Sutton from a domestic violence case, Tomlin is clueless on offense,he has the highest paid mediocre defense.
