UPDATE: I have a new, 2024 version of this video! PLEASE CHECK IT OUT! It's much more detailed, higher quality and more informational. :) ua-cam.com/video/Vr5ALBA342c/v-deo.html
Sooooo....... Im 51. Not been watchin UA-cam for too awful long. I have watched many makeup "people" . NEVER NEVER NEVER have I EVER had someone explain things in such relatable detail. So thank you very much!!! You are awesome! !!!
I'm a cis female and you totally hit the nail on the head by stating we have 10 years to develop those skills. So much respect to you for continuing to help those earlier in their transition journeys!
ditto man. I have absolutely no ties to trans culture (or makeup in general) but I watch stef all the time simply because she makes me laugh and I enjoy her personality. I think it's good to be open to groups outside of your own anyway. More knowledge never hurts.
iirc, she mentioned in a video a while back (though I don't know which) that she stopped worrying so much about trying to make her voice sound super feminine, and is letting herself worry less about meeting expectations she previously set, like hitting a certain pitch and tone and sounding like what she had previously deemed to be "perfect or right". That may be why she sounds much more fluid and less strained! I love my bread mom and her self love progress :)
Thank you Stef, I started my transition from male to female back in september. I am in my 30s and was super worried about passing. Knowing and being great at everything. Your videos have help me pick up a few things when doing my own make up, which I have only been doing since jan of this year. It does take time to learn. And not rushing things give you time to learn the skills well. *hugs* keep up the great content ^,..,^
Andrew Mullins I am hoping they where joking. If not, its not a problem. Everyone is welcome to their opinion. So long as no one seeks to harm me physically I don't care. ^,..,^
Wow your voice has changed dramatically you sound wonderful! You also look beautiful and thank you for reaching out to people your honesty and bravery is inspiring!
Primer is very, very good if you're someone like me who has large pores and a lot of texture. I use Benefit's POREfessional to smooth it. Moisturizer definitely counts as a primer, especially if you have dry skin I've noticed.
Nefertiti Montoya hiya! For makeup benefits POREfessional is the best out there for super large pores! I have a few on my nose and a friend who is MTF trans who suffered from skin irritation early in her transition who found it great too! We also discovered together that not irritating your skin by using harsh exfoliants or those tight pore masks actually worked better than overdoing it! Biggest tip we found online that helps was splashing your face with cold water after you have cleansed. It helps close the pores that naturally open when the skin is warm. Also making sure you are thoroughly removing any makeup you wear to make sure the pores do not clog! If you are transitioning and it’s something you have started to experience during HRT, then know that for my friend it passed as she went further in her med regime. Good this helps!
Hey, a stranger on the internet here. How much do you apply the primer bc my porefessional just...feels like it's sliding all over the place and doesn't really PRIME anything.
i’m a trans guy and i hate wearing makeup bc of dysphoria, but i love watching your makeup videos because you’re just so entertaining and well spoken ily
Stef, I've been watching you for a while and as a cis woman I would like to thank you for giving me insight and enlightening me about the experience of being transgender. I have a question for you btw: what's your favorite flower? Mine is a sunflower :)
Studio Blue i like the flower things you have on passion fruit vines (passion flowers) think they are so cool! Garden flowers- pansies and yellow roses as gifts!
yeetyeet imasheep I just looked those passion flowers up and they are so gorgeous! Now I need to start growing some passion fruit :) thanks for sharing
The skin was really nice, but I think a dark colour over the lid like this closes off the eye and defeats the purpose of that brightening. I think if you take a taupe powder and apply lightly in the crease and put a lighter shade on the lid it would be much more feminine. Just my thoughts, also might be a bit easier for a beginner anyways because you don't run the risk of raccoon eyes.
Usually what people with dark lids can do is apply a little bit of yellow concealer to cancel the darkness and then put a normal skin colour concealer on top of it to make the lids appear more "awake" and bright, so you don't necessarily have to wear some shadow to counteract that and you can go for your everyday natural look with just mascara and wham bam, you're ready :) But this eyeshadow trick of lightly darkening the crease and putting a light shade on the lid works pretty good if you still wanna rock the "I'm wearing something a little glam" look 👌
Don't see hate everywhere sweetie, her video was made to help trans woman wich is awesome ! I'm just saying that I'm not trans but I still adore the person that is stef sanjati.
I wasn't implying that you were being hateful, and I wasn't even trying to be mean. I'm a cis girl and I love her videos also, but I just think you could've just as easily said " I love your makeup videos" and left the part out about not being trans.
“Safe, passing bulls**t” it cracked me up big time! 🤣 I absolutely LOVE your no-nonsense approach. Keep up your outstanding work. Hugs from Maine - Danni
If you have a longer face - winged eyeliner, subtle highlighter in inner corners and mascara (both top and bottom) concentrated on outer corners of your eyes make a huge difference! Also blush on different parts of your face (just make your face a bit red by excercising or what not and try to notice very gentle redness like right above your brow, not strong like around your nose) and most importantly on middle part of your nose (parallel to cheekbones!) really gives that natural "innocent" vibe.
PLEASE, please do more makeup tutorials like this! I’ve never had a MUA explain as in depth as you are and it REALLY helped me understand how to adjust my makeup to my face instead of just mimicking and not understanding why it didn’t look the same. This is amazing!!
Racheal Bennett right? Not to mention using stuff that she regularly uses and loves, instead of a revolving door of products that you "need" and that aren't actually great when you're not in front of a camera and ring light.
Cis girl here and I did not have all those years of learning - my mum wasn't into make up - just lipstick and perfume. I'm learning as I go. Your videos have helped a lot, but I still suck at applying, lol.
I'm a cis woman, and my partner is AMAB, but currently considering transitioning. I watched this so that I can maybe help them out with makeup and such, and honestly, this helped MY makeup techniques in general too! Honestly, I know this is late to the party, but your content is so helpful and amazing.
I am not trans but I learned so many tips from you that i truly think anyone can take away from this video and try out in an everyday makeup look to just enhance their beauty! I think a lot of these 'feminine" tips are also just to enhance some great features and honestly it's more than what I've learned from cis woman. Thank you so much bread mom
I'm not trans but i this is really useful to me. People used to tell me i looked like a guy ~because of my sharp jawline mostly~ which made me pretty insecure tbh. So i might use some of these tips to look more feminine (because i want to, not only bc of the comments i used to get!) thankyou ❤️
I’m as white as paper and it looks terrible on me! No matter how little product I use, I look like a clown! It looks gorgeous on darker skin than mine, but for me it just doesn’t look great
I have such a crush on you. Saw you first on Chase’s video then followed you. Cried during your going home video, brought back painful memories and I so appreciate how honest and real you are. I’m not interested in makeup, not even before I transitioned FTM, but you’re so awesome I just watched your 30 minute demonstration and really enjoyed it! Thanks for all you do!
I love how the whole time you’re speaking you empower all ages, skin types and different levels of skill in makeup even. You’re so accepting of people being who they are and you inspire people to love themselves the same way. Thank you for the woman you are!
Actually she did mean it's scary, I tried using one and it attacked my cornea and now I have bionic laser sniper eyepods. Resolution is great though. Ultra hd.
"Scarier than it looks" would mean that it looks scary, but is in fact even scarier. "Not as scary as it looks" (how I should have worded my original comment) would mean that it looks scary, but isn't actually that scary.
i'm not trans but i am quite a newbie at doing my makeup so this was extremely helpful for me to learn the basics without looking dramatic so thank you! i love that you use your platform to teach people so many things! ily bread mom!💕
THANK YOU!! I've watched so many tutorials and they over complicate things. It's been so frustrating. I can't understand how you have never shown up on search results before - you are a goddess!
Eyelash tip from a cis girl, if I may. Heat up the eyelash curler. The heat makes the curl last longer. I use hot water, some people use a blow drier. If you have straight eye lashes, like I do, it's a God send. The heat acts like curling your hair.
eKatryna Yes! And I will usually take the curler at the base of my lashes, then once more about half way up them. I have straight lashes too and these things combined helps a lot!
I love that the whole time you're talking about this process, you're talking about *your* process, and also talking shit about how femininity is constructed and really we something we can actively define for ourselves - you are brilliant and refreshing
Girl! I'm a cis woman and these tips are what I need more of in my life! I didn't even learn makeup basics in cosmetology school. (They encouraged us to enroll in makeup classes elsewhere i.e. New York City for $2k plus food room and board. Something this single mom didn't have the cash for!) Anyway, my point is that you're amazing the way you speak to the camera. You should definitely teach if you're not already. You are good at coming to your audience with respect rather than a catty snobby attitude I've seen and experienced. Thank you!
stef you looked so beautiful even with just the foundation on! the moisturisers really came through with the glow 😍 i wish my oily skin could handle the glass skin trend we've got going on now...
SinNotATragedy I have super oily skin and I have found that moisturizing every night before bed with a Normal moisturizer or with rosehip oil has saved my skin. I used to but use moisturizer because I didn’t want my skin to be more oily, but moisturizer helps to balance your skin and moisturizing will eventually train your skin to produce less oil. Honestly beautiful glowy skin, especially in the summer, is for everyone. I have found that it almost always looks good if your skin is well moisturized, even if it’s usually oily
This tutorial is probably one of the BEST makeup tutorials I’ve ever seen. I’m obsessed with how you’re actually explaining each and every step you do!! ❤️❤️❤️
All women should remember this, whether trans or not....it's not a race folks! Just because someone gets to a certain stage first doesn't mean they win!
Driveway Turtle this is such a nice comment! I sent this video to a closeted trans friend of mine and she said she's afraid of doing her makeup mostly because she doesn't know where to start and knows it's probably going to look bad when she starts actually doing it. Like oh no hun 🤣 people that make it look good have usually been practicing for YEARS
Aaah, it’s been just about 2-3 months that I haven’t been able to watch my bread mom, and you can tell how far you’ve come on your journey. You sound and look fantastic girl! You’ve always looked and been lovely but I know you’ve been working hard to be the you , you truly want to be. So happy for you
You’ve grown so much !! You look so beautiful and it’s not because of the surgeries or the makeup but because of how much confidence you’ve grown to have . It makes me happy .
Hey Stef (or any other makeup artists!) do you have any tips for ways trans boys could use makeup to "masculinise" their face shape? I still haven't got any facial hair growing in and wondered if there was anything to make my more feminine face shape look a little more masc? Thanks in advance anyone!
honestly it depends on ur face shape, but what i do when i want to look more masculine is leave off foundation (or very light coverage foundation. cis guys rarely cover up acne or dark spots so pls don't feel self conscious abt it) and then i kind of make my eyes look a little more sunken in + make my nose look stronger. it's kind of the opposite of feminizing makeup tbh
making your eyebrows a lil darker (using mascara or eyeliner) and a lil bit more Wild is a good trick that I used for a couple of years before I got on testosterone. I know some guys contour their jaw and cheekbones for a more square shape, but I never felt the need to try it since my pre-t face was already very square, so I can't give my opinion on if it works.
My advice would be to highlight the masculine features of your face. While Stef was showing how to soften features, doing the opposite would make your face appear stronger and sharper. Using coloured brow gel on your eyebrows will make them appear fuller and darker, and I would suggest creating the illusion of extra hairs with a thin brow pencil (Also, making your eyebrows less arched and more straight accentuates sharper features). Creating shadows under the brow bone, cheekbones and chin with contour powder would your features look stronger, too. I would encourage you to look up Drag King makeup as well for tips! :)
Look up mascukine vs feminine face structure vids and visual guides and written analysis. Then use the highlighter contour shadow etc to create heaviness illusions, lower straighter brows heavier shadow under brows straighter less rainbow curve rounded hairline, wider heavier 'stringer jaw' more qmsquares and rectangles and fewer curves and anglea.. even a 5 i clock shadow hint can be acieved - start looking and you will see more and more ! Also u might look at stage makeup including balket stage make up to see how lines create illusions, create the illusion of or exaggerate some things and deemphasize others ... Like others said alot is soung the opposite of femininization drag tricks but in a way that syits YOUR FACE. ALSO look at men who strike you as HOT and ficus in on features that trigger that response in you! That make tou think - thats a got or handsome mascul8ne good looking fut. Or just someone who looks how i want to look. Xo good luck!
I just want to say, knowing you don't do UA-cam anymore, your videos I've discovered today genuinely have taught me so much. I've never done makeup in my life. Someone who dislikes me as much of them couldn't recognize me and bought me a drink. This is the kind of things that gives me confidence to fully be open(I'm not with almost anyone) and be completely confident
Great tips for anyone! I've always felt that when my makeup is done poorly I look like my Dad in drag, so subtle feminizing tips is great even for a cis gal with boyish bone structure!
I'm a teenage girl and I watch makeup tutorials like yours because I find them fascinating, educational and I support your channel:) I'm not trans or anything, I'm actually just a tomboy and I LOVE doing super feminine looks and I LOVE doing a more masculine look as well. You have inspired me a lot to kind of just do whatever I feel like doing, even though I am not trans. Thank you Stef
I watched this to help my fiancée who is beginning her transition. I've been doing my makeup for years but I wouldn't say that I'm great at it and this just really helped me to understand how to help her with her make up to help her achieve a more feminine look. Question: How can I help her with her brow bone? It sits sort of more forward I guess I would say? And I know it's a point that drives her a bit nuts. Is there anyway I could help soften this feature for her? Thanks so much for your video! You're amazing!!!
I didn't know lip oil was a thing, and now I need to find some to try. For as long as I can remember, my lips have always just gotten so dry for no apparent reason. I put on chapstick and a while later they're just really dry again without me licking me lips or touching them or anything. Idk if it's because my skin in general is always pretty dry or what, but it's super annoying. Having dry/stinging lips is distracting.
Honestly as a cis woman I never even thought about what you said at the beginning. I was allowed to looked jacked af through my teen years, but it does seem that trans women are expected to be able to craft perfect contours and smokey eyes immediately. I truly want to thank you, Stef for bringing so many things to my attention that I never consider in my own daily life. I don't know if you even read all of your comments (I know I wouldn't have enough hours in the day haha) but on the off chance you see this, I want to thank you for helping me to become a better ally to the community 💕
Stef, you don’t need to “pass” you ARE feminine! And personally I don’t see any “little hairs” anymore. You are a true natural woman. And you make excellent videos to boot! Tips for EVERYONE! I love you! Keep up the great work!
Nikita Ross YOU NEED TOO WAKE UP YOU SEEM LIKE A RATIONAL PERSON NIKITA BUT WHAT HAS GOT YOU SO BLINDED TOO THE SORCERY?? I’m not saying too hate her or be mean too her.. but what I said in that comment is %100 accurate. Unfortunately ! Wish these people could’ve been happy with the way they were made instead of never ever feeling complete because they know. Deep inside. That it’s a complete lie they have too lie till they die too themselves... 🙁 isn’t that fucking horrible? They weren’t accidentally born a man!
stef-- that trick about setting your foundation with highlighter just changed me. CHANGED. ALTERED. i am DIFFERENT now. i've always set with power all over and then had to pack a LOT of highlighter on top to get the glow i was going for and the powder on powder always bunched and looked off in certain lighting. idk why i never thought it feasible to just set with highlight. i'm INDEBTED to you gorl i should be making monthly payments or something. love u 4evr xoxoxox
As always , love you Breadmom 💖 I was curious , after a ton of researching and recent changes to trans health care , I want to go to Thailand for SRS . The Dr Suporn clinic is the most expensive( with the best results ) but the same price as Dr Brasard . Dr Suporn is semi retiring but still working . Has Toronto opened a new clinic yet ( as they said was happening) and will it be or / is non - penile inversion method? Angel hugs n Blessings to you and yours 😇
So I'm actually a FtM transman, but I love makeup and plan to become a makeup artist. Your videos are really helpful, because I wanna be able to give tips and help people who need it so this is awesome !
Hey, could you pls give some hair care tips? I totally love your hair, also it seems to grow pretty fast :D I'm growing my hair rn and I wanted to bleach it, but I'm super worried that it will ruin it completely. Also you look super cool
A D if you want to bleach your hair, please please please get it done at a salon! Not only do they know what they're doing, they'll also make sure you don't miss any spots and they'll apply everything all nice and evenly~ I've bleached my own hair in the past and nearly had to shave it all off so trust me, it's worth the extra money to pay to get it done!
Hers isn't bleached actually, she has waardenburgs syndrome which makes it grow white naturally. That's also why her eyes are a bit set apart, and her hearing is bad :) she's got a video on it
She was using an argan oil haircare kit subscription sort of thing. I don't know if she still is. This is the first video on that: ua-cam.com/video/Pe3VgLkKiRc/v-deo.html
Sheesh, why can't anybody be happy with the hair color they have? There's enough to do with transition without making things extra complicated. I have adopted a whole "go with the flow" attitude since starting hormones a couple of months ago. Just try to bring out your natural beauty rather than frying your hair with chemicals. If you're thinking that having blonde hair is going to help make you look more feminine, it probably won't. And, when you f- it up and turn your hair green and brittle, you won't be too happy.
My girlfriend Danielle is trans and shes so far the only person ive ever dated that can calm me down from an enraged state and is the only girl ive ever actually felt safe or well loved the other girls ive dated were nice but at times could be dicks or would be whiny Danielle is the first girl ive ever actually felt large amounts of love for . But I would like advice ( and so would she ) cus shes the first trans girl ive ever dated and im the firsg guy she ever dated and we dont want to trigger anything because we want to make it work we love each other
honestly the biggest thing you can do for any trans ppl is make sure they are being respected, even when she's not there. don't let ppl deadname her, or misgender her, even if she isn't around to hear it. day to day, just make sure she knows she is loved for who she is. i hope everything works out well, this is really sweet
First of all, AWWWW! Second of all, being trans is a challenge. But it does give us a unique perspective. Dealing with a little testosterone surge is no big deal, especially if she makes you feel better. Third of all, it sounds like you are both on the same page. I won't lie to you. Relationships are tough, even when they click but it sounds like you are already doing something right. Keep your eyes and ears open. Communicate with each other. Don't let problems and issues build up. No, love can't conquer EVERYTHING! That's really all I can say after a failed 15 year relationship, except, don't spend 15 years to figure out if it is going to work! This can be hard to do when you feel a strong pull towards someone which is why communication is key.
Steph, I come back to your videos time after time. I have a trans family member and a trans friend. You helped me learn acceptance on a different level, not just to say I accepted them but to fully support them. Your story of not only transitioning but also mental health inspires me. I'll forever be a lil bun all the way here in Northern Ireland. All our Irish love to you my gorgeous girl x
Hey, is there a particular way to apply makeup that isn’t gender specific? I’m non bianary and I’m wanting to wear makeup sometimes (mostly because of my acne...) but every time I end up feeling like a drag queen or like I’m trying to pass as my opposite gender I was born with. Am I making any sense? Thanks ahead of time.
Momma Gaige I’m not non binary but I’m pretty androgynous naturally. Have you tried Matt mouse foundation or foundation powder? It’s pretty dry but doesn’t look as feminine as liquid foundation. A brown mascara would also help your eyelashes be seen but now look like you’re ‘going out’. Some gay men wear makeup but not in a feminine way... there might be videos for them that you could watch?
I'm not sure that it would help, but if you're dealing with lots of texture, I would recommend Thataylaa's channel! She does several foundation reviews that might help you find a good technique with foundation without it feeling too heavy💞
I think healthy skin and neat brows are neutral. A bit bronzer maybe. Generally everything that makes you just look naturally healthy. I would avoid products to shape your face (bronzer, contour...) or enlarge your eyes (mascara, winged eyeliner), and lipstick, obviously. Big eyes and bright lips are considered very feminine. Other than that, I think gender roles are complete bs and you should wear whatever you want regardless of gender. You could walk around like a drag queen every day but still not be a drag queen and just like to dress like this.
I like using It Cosmetics CC cream. Even on days where I don't want to really wear makeup, I wear that because it is spf 50 and covers my acne and sunspots (thanks, arizona), but doesn't look so makeup-y that I feel weird using it alone.
Also make sure all the products you use are non-comedogenic before hand! Sometimes putting makeup over your acne can make it angrier. I’ve recently just fully recovered from hormonal cystic acne after having it since fourth grade. (on my cheeks and jawline) and making sure your make up isn’t clogging your popes is VERY important. All the previous comments have great tips as well, love to see everyone helping out. So much positivity is so beautiful 💕
just want to say.. i am a cis girl who never really learned how to do makeup and i'm 34, like you mentioned, I feel everyone around me has had "10 years to learn this shit" lol. I felt like I am pretty dumb when it comes to makeup so I'm starting to learn NOW! and using your videos to help explain, thank you for posting!
OMG, more than 20 mins and that's a fast make up tutorial? I think I'm going to feel very overwhelmed once I start using make up. Probably I'm just going to go for primer, foundation, maybe some concealer and something for the lips. Oh and maybe some eyeliner too. Your video relaxed me a lot because unfortunately in Nicaragua things are bad right now. Love you Stef
I've been transitioning for a year now but I poot make up everyday and end up looking like a clown I don't know if that ever happened to you it frustrates me cause I can't do anything right what tips could you give me 😅
Luis Moreno i always focus on one area at a time. Like i go through phases, perfecting eyebrows, foundation. Obviously whatever look you prefer but try the less is more- if you slap it on it draws attention. Maybe try cream counter? And use setting spray! Stops you from looking powdery and cakey. Also use an eyebrow pencil that it lighter than your hair colour and unless you are ginger or a obviously warm brown try to go the ashier side. Go with a subtle blush and cool toned contour.
all this ^ plus it takes a looooot of practice, like I’ve been out (and doing makeup) for about 3 years and I only just got kinda good at it these last couple of months ://
if you feel like you're too heavy-handed, and that's why it's not looking good, try starting with just a simple light/medium coverage foundation (BB Cream is a great starter, or a medium foundation applied with a damp beauty blender/sponge), this way your natural skin colour will still shine through (and kind of cancel the need for blush, etc) and then, if you'd like, just a little mascara. once you've got foundation blending on a light coverage foundation (where if you mess up, it's barely noticeable anyways), you can move more towards the heavier stuff slowly and get towards that full coverage level that Stef shows in this video. (just be careful with colour correction on light/medium foundation because if it's not super blended, the colour correcting colour (orange, green, etc.) can show through)
Throwean Emperor Why do you insist on seeking out Stef’s videos just to harass her and her fans? Why are you dedicating so much of your time to being so pathetic? I’m truly curious.
Throwean Emperor Well, that reply certainly contained a bunch of shit that was not relevant to my questions whatsoever. I asked you why you are seeking out Stef’s videos to harass her and her fans. You doing “research” does not justify that. And just for the record: being trans has nothing to do with mental illness. The World’s Health Organisation is set to declassify gender dysphoria as one in ICD-11. The mental illnesses transgender people deal with are actually normally caused by immense stigma and poor treatment from society/friends/family due to their being trans. And from seeing comments like yours every day. *You* are part of the reason why transgender people struggle more than necessary. *You* are part of the reason why transgender suicide rates are at the very top of the statistics. You’d know this if you actually researched. Now that’s something you could have presented about, because harassing people who literally do not affect you in any kind of way and trying to justify it to yourself as though trans people are freaks and you need no actual research to back you up is much more wrong than having a brain where the size of the central subdivision of the bed nucleus of the stria terminalis align more with the gender you identify as as opposed to your biological sex, as well as having similarities in the number of a certain class of neurons in the BSTc, among other things. Oh, and the actual proper facts I just presented you with is from a study that happened in the mid-1990s, so it’s not new at all. Educate yourself about a topic before you speak on it, okay? Thanks.
Goodness! I am so in love with your videos! I am not even trans and I appreciated this so much as just a makeup fanatic. Your so motherly and friendly and I love it. I honestly feel like this is a safe environment where I can just kick back and relax. Love you!
this didn't pop up in my subscription feed? but I got it recommended on a video of a teacher coming out to his students lmao. glad I didn't miss it, love ur videos stef xx
UPDATE: I have a new, 2024 version of this video! PLEASE CHECK IT OUT! It's much more detailed, higher quality and more informational. :)
ua-cam.com/video/Vr5ALBA342c/v-deo.html
Sooooo....... Im 51. Not been watchin UA-cam for too awful long. I have watched many makeup "people" . NEVER NEVER NEVER have I EVER had someone explain things in such relatable detail. So thank you very much!!! You are awesome! !!!
Patricia Gelenaw this is so pure.. and true!
I might be because she studied and worked for a few years as a make up artist
This warms my heart
56 yr old cis female and I agree! Great vid!
She does explain things really well :)
I'm a cis female and you totally hit the nail on the head by stating we have 10 years to develop those skills. So much respect to you for continuing to help those earlier in their transition journeys!
Omg purposely irritating your skin for educational purposes... that’s dedication
Taylor E if makeup irritates your skin you're not wearing the right kind. Or you're allergic lol
Judy Carter
Agreed. But the irritation wasn't from makeup, she scrubbed. It was to replicate the shaving issue.
Judy Carter you didn't watch the video?
Rebecca Spratling i did watch it and i missed that one part. My bad.
I’m a dude but I’m watching this bc Stef makes me happy
ditto man. I have absolutely no ties to trans culture (or makeup in general) but I watch stef all the time simply because she makes me laugh and I enjoy her personality. I think it's good to be open to groups outside of your own anyway. More knowledge never hurts.
Same I think she's funny and would be so much fun to hang with
Luda Pecurka gotta try harder than that, pal
@Luda Pecurka what a creative reply. Sounds like it's on your mind though, not ours.
Luda Pecurka I actually would love to do her* bc she’s beautiful and smart and attractive, so you gotta make your transphobic ass think of smth else
Your voice has changed so much since you started transitioning, it sounds so fluid and not strained anymore 😊
I noticed too. I'd love to see a video where Steff talks about the voice!
Yuge Yun yes we need that video
I am guessing that is mainly a confidence issue.
Yuge Yun she does have a video on voice training!
iirc, she mentioned in a video a while back (though I don't know which) that she stopped worrying so much about trying to make her voice sound super feminine, and is letting herself worry less about meeting expectations she previously set, like hitting a certain pitch and tone and sounding like what she had previously deemed to be "perfect or right".
*hugs* keep up the great content ^,..,^
good luck in your transition!!!
lots of love to you!!!
Thank you ^,..,^
Throwean Emperor ...what a terrible thing to say
Andrew Mullins I am hoping they where joking. If not, its not a problem. Everyone is welcome to their opinion. So long as no one seeks to harm me physically I don't care. ^,..,^
“I want to glow as if I’m pregnant with quintuplets “ 😂😂😂😂 love youuuuuuuu❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
This is so sexist. Reducing pregnancy to beauty product and girlhood to training period for makeup. I'm hurt.
@@slavbarbie hmm is this ironic?
@@lauralai6054 Umm NO it isn't? You think it's fun to mock pregnancy like this??
@@lauralai6054 You can just shut up if you think that's ok to say.
@@slavbarbie oh my god l m a o
That jaw contour trick is a revelation
Wow your voice has changed dramatically you sound wonderful! You also look beautiful and thank you for reaching out to people your honesty and bravery is inspiring!
Primer is very, very good if you're someone like me who has large pores and a lot of texture. I use Benefit's POREfessional to smooth it.
Moisturizer definitely counts as a primer, especially if you have dry skin I've noticed.
Makayla Serniotti do you know how to make giant cheek pores smaller?
Bruh
I usually moisturize first and let that get dry and tacky. If it's gliding over your skin and shifting you put too much on
As a cis girl with some fiercely masculine features, thank you! Some great tips here.
Saaaame
i’m a trans guy and i hate wearing makeup bc of dysphoria, but i love watching your makeup videos because you’re just so entertaining and well spoken ily
Woman on steroids
@@elvenleaf5589 so first of all i'm not on testosterone but putting that aside do you just?? not know what testosterone is????
@@elvenleaf5589 nah, man on testosterone
I know he said he's not on T but still
Stef, I've been watching you for a while and as a cis woman I would like to thank you for giving me insight and enlightening me about the experience of being transgender. I have a question for you btw: what's your favorite flower? Mine is a sunflower :)
Studio Blue i like the flower things you have on passion fruit vines (passion flowers) think they are so cool! Garden flowers- pansies and yellow roses as gifts!
Studio Blue mine is also a sunflower, they also happen to be the only flowers I like, really! :D
I forgot what kind of flowers she has tattooed on her arms, but I'll assume those are her favorites
yeetyeet imasheep I just looked those passion flowers up and they are so gorgeous! Now I need to start growing some passion fruit :) thanks for sharing
Foot Lettuce Love your username lol
The skin was really nice, but I think a dark colour over the lid like this closes off the eye and defeats the purpose of that brightening. I think if you take a taupe powder and apply lightly in the crease and put a lighter shade on the lid it would be much more feminine. Just my thoughts, also might be a bit easier for a beginner anyways because you don't run the risk of raccoon eyes.
Usually what people with dark lids can do is apply a little bit of yellow concealer to cancel the darkness and then put a normal skin colour concealer on top of it to make the lids appear more "awake" and bright, so you don't necessarily have to wear some shadow to counteract that and you can go for your everyday natural look with just mascara and wham bam, you're ready :)
But this eyeshadow trick of lightly darkening the crease and putting a light shade on the lid works pretty good if you still wanna rock the "I'm wearing something a little glam" look 👌
I’m so glad that you mention that femininity and masculinity are constructs that we are in control of. Such an important concept that people overlook.
I just love how inclusive you are, no matter what topic you‘re talking about
I'm not even trans but i love to watch your makeup videos
I feel like this statement is the equivalent to saying "I'm not even black but I like your videos" to a black person.
Don't see hate everywhere sweetie, her video was made to help trans woman wich is awesome !
I'm just saying that I'm not trans but I still adore the person that is stef sanjati.
I-T UFO me too. I’m a cis girl and I got some tips...
I wasn't implying that you were being hateful, and I wasn't even trying to be mean. I'm a cis girl and I love her videos also, but I just think you could've just as easily said " I love your makeup videos" and left the part out about not being trans.
Lol why make it so compicated, it's a make up tutorial , just leave it at that wow.
“Safe, passing bulls**t” it cracked me up big time! 🤣 I absolutely LOVE your no-nonsense approach. Keep up your outstanding work. Hugs from Maine - Danni
u look like a soft 90s supermodel we stan an icon
She IS a soft 90s supermodel.
Honestly, what you do for skincare before you start makeup is a perfect substitute for primer!
"Femininity is a construct that we get to define" love love LOVE this quote holy crap
Quote of the year “Glow as if pregnant with quintuplets” literally me
OMG your open jaw contour technique just blew my mind!!!
So i might use some of these tips to look more feminine (because i want to, not only bc of the comments i used to get!) thankyou ❤️
h y u c k c y o n I've always thought women with strong jawline were the most beautiful looking woman out there ^^
Being a sixty plus transgender mtf and colour blind I struggle with make up but still love watching your videos I’m learning so much
personally i think blush is a really simple way to look more cute and feminine. i think it looks good on everyone
tinythingy4 it definitely doesn't, it looks awful on my because I have ruddy, damaged, red skin and blush does that no favours.
catherine zadecka i like it on red skin too but people have different tastes :)
yeah I feel like it looks very cute and innocent
I’m as white as paper and it looks terrible on me! No matter how little product I use, I look like a clown! It looks gorgeous on darker skin than mine, but for me it just doesn’t look great
Rebecca Compton maybe the colour is too dark or the application isnt right?
I have such a crush on you. Saw you first on Chase’s video then followed you. Cried during your going home video, brought back painful memories and I so appreciate how honest and real you are. I’m not interested in makeup, not even before I transitioned FTM, but you’re so awesome I just watched your 30 minute demonstration and really enjoyed it! Thanks for all you do!
Stef, you have perfect timing. Prom is literally one week away, thank you!
I love how the whole time you’re speaking you empower all ages, skin types and different levels of skill in makeup even. You’re so accepting of people being who they are and you inspire people to love themselves the same way. Thank you for the woman you are!
I think you meant the eyelash curler is less scary than it looks, not scarier than it looks, lol.
MewWolf5 Ace squad!💚
Actually she did mean it's scary, I tried using one and it attacked my cornea and now I have bionic laser sniper eyepods. Resolution is great though. Ultra hd.
Ace 💜
"Scarier than it looks" would mean that it looks scary, but is in fact even scarier. "Not as scary as it looks" (how I should have worded my original comment) would mean that it looks scary, but isn't actually that scary.
MewWolf5 the SCARY thing is we're actually having an internet conversation about this.
i'm not trans but i am quite a newbie at doing my makeup so this was extremely helpful for me to learn the basics without looking dramatic so thank you! i love that you use your platform to teach people so many things! ily bread mom!💕
You look completely different with out the liner on your lid! (not in a bad way at all👌) but Great tips!
THANK YOU!! I've watched so many tutorials and they over complicate things. It's been so frustrating. I can't understand how you have never shown up on search results before - you are a goddess!
a list of all the products would be awesome. That mask looks amazing and I need it
That Lise Watier colour correcting wheel is literally the love of my makeup life
Eyelash tip from a cis girl, if I may.
Haley Lyons yes!
I love that the whole time you're talking about this process, you're talking about *your* process, and also talking shit about how femininity is constructed and really we something we can actively define for ourselves - you are brilliant and refreshing
When you don’t wear makeup. But you watch stef for 30 minutes because she’s lovely 🤷🏻♂️
Thank you!
the one critique I have is that you don't list the products used in the description. Other than that, great tutorial
This makes me wanna do glam makeup SO BAD but I'm detoxing my skin from makeup ;^; living vicariously through stef rn
stef you looked so beautiful even with just the foundation on! the moisturisers really came through with the glow 😍 i wish my oily skin could handle the glass skin trend we've got going on now...
SinNotATragedy it can! Oil free hydration will reduce your oil production!
Like oh no hun 🤣 people that make it look good have usually been practicing for YEARS
What, you mean like life in general?
This Is the BEST makeup tutorial I have EVER seen. You're an amazing teacher Stef and an absolute inspiration. Thank you for empowering us all
That jacket? Top? Whatever it is, it’s super cute
Aaah, it’s been just about 2-3 months that I haven’t been able to watch my bread mom, and you can tell how far you’ve come on your journey. You sound and look fantastic girl! You’ve always looked and been lovely but I know you’ve been working hard to be the you , you truly want to be. So happy for you
BEAUTIFUL WITH AND WITHOUT MAKEUP
I absolutly love how she doesnt have the super bright beauty lights and the lighting is more natural to show what itll look like in natural lighting
"You can't screw in a screw without a screwdiver, right?"
Whyyyyyy did this made me laugh thoooo 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
My God I love her ❤❤❤
You’ve grown so much !!
"Just a lil tip..... from your mother"
😂 loved that!! Also, loved this video. Very in depth! ☺️
This is the most compassionate makeup tutorial I’ve ever seen. You are a beautiful soul ❤️
Great tips for anyone! I've always felt that when my makeup is done poorly I look like my Dad in drag, so subtle feminizing tips is great even for a cis gal with boyish bone structure!
Thanks for the perfect natural make-up tutorial, so many tips that I'll have to watch it many times to remember it all.
Quintuplets-glow for life!
I'm a teenage girl and I watch makeup tutorials like yours because I find them fascinating, educational and I support your channel:)
I'm not trans or anything, I'm actually just a tomboy and I LOVE doing super feminine looks and I LOVE doing a more masculine look as well. You have inspired me a lot to kind of just do whatever I feel like doing, even though I am not trans. Thank you Stef
IM SO HAPPY TO SEE YOUR VIDEOS EVERYTIME U POST ❤

Love ya Breadmom! Can you provide a list of the soothing and moisturizing products you use? Thanks so much!
stef-- that trick about setting your foundation with highlighter just changed me. CHANGED. ALTERED. i am DIFFERENT now. i've always set with power all over and then had to pack a LOT of highlighter on top to get the glow i was going for and the powder on powder always bunched and looked off in certain lighting. idk why i never thought it feasible to just set with highlight. i'm INDEBTED to you gorl i should be making monthly payments or something. love u 4evr xoxoxox

I was curious , after a ton of researching and recent changes to trans health care , I want to go to Thailand for SRS .
Oh yes ....its still an ' up to 2 years ' waiting list .
AMOEDEN888 How much does It costs?
Its approximately $20,000 CAD.
OHIP will pay for surgery overseas if it isn't being performed in Canada . And so far non penile inversion method isn't available ...yet .
Elle Bradford ( another UA-cam Celeb. ) had her srs performed by Dr. Suporn .
Hey, thank you for your responses
Sheesh, why can't anybody be happy with the hair color they have? There's enough to do with transition without making things extra complicated. I have adopted a whole "go with the flow" attitude since starting hormones a couple of months ago. Just try to bring out your natural beauty rather than frying your hair with chemicals. If you're thinking that having blonde hair is going to help make you look more feminine, it probably won't. And, when you f- it up and turn your hair green and brittle, you won't be too happy.
Your makeup tips are so helpful for anyone who doesn't have much experience in makeup
As a cis female, this tutorial was AWESOME. So in depth and clearly presented. Plz do my makeup.
i feel like ive learned sososooo much tysm
This was really helpful even for a cis girl ,some tips you said were quite useful!!
Dammmn this setup looking pro girl
This is very comforting to watch. Stef you have a very nice and warm energy! Love you and your videos.
Also dont put black in your waterline use a skin tone, makes your eyes wider.
Follow this tutorial strep by step!
all this ^ plus it takes a looooot of practice, like I’ve been out (and doing makeup) for about 3 years and I only just got kinda good at it these last couple of months ://
if you feel like you're too heavy-handed, and that's why it's not looking good, try starting with just a simple light/medium coverage foundation (BB Cream is a great starter, or a medium foundation applied with a damp beauty blender/sponge), this way your natural skin colour will still shine through (and kind of cancel the need for blush, etc) and then, if you'd like, just a little mascara. once you've got foundation blending on a light coverage foundation (where if you mess up, it's barely noticeable anyways), you can move more towards the heavier stuff slowly and get towards that full coverage level that Stef shows in this video.
(just be careful with colour correction on light/medium foundation because if it's not super blended, the colour correcting colour (orange, green, etc.) can show through)
what is that hydrating fluid you used? It looks amazing!!
You girl I didn’t figure out how to not make myself look like crap until about a year ago. 😂😂
Jessica Jones loool I've been doing makeup for 13 years and still can't get it right!
Love you!
honestly i like you without the winged eyeliner more
