What a fascinating place Melrose Abbey is. In it's heyday, it must have been a stunning and inspiring ecclesiastical place. Even today, it is a spectacle to behold, brought to life by Cara. What a year it's been for the Open Minded Wanderer. I cant wait to see what Cara has in store for us all in 2025. Instead of watching on your tablet, or phone, I highly recommend beaming it to your TV and watching on a big screen - you won't be disappointed, it's like walking through history, with Cara as your personal tour guide. Well done Cara 👍☺
What a breathtaking trip at Melrose Abbey, Scotland! The beauty of the abbey was captured perfectly in this video. Thank you for taking us on this wonderful journey; it's like we were there ourselves!
Thank you Cara. Beautiful ruins. Must have been amazing in its prime. Love that bagpipe pig! The different fretwork for each window arch gives a hint of how grand it must have been.
Like 59 👍 Hello from Naples, Florida. The Abbey is an awesome place to visit. We enjoyed the tour. Thanks for sharing with us, have a great weekend 👍 💯 ❤
Beautiful footage you have shared and history of the Melrose Abby site. Amazing how it was rebuilt so many times. Definitely a symbol of resilience! What an interesting legend and background. Enjoyed the story-telling and filming. 👍💯⛪️
Hi Cara, thanks for your lovely videography and your interesting narration. I loved the intricate stonework, especially the little pig playing the bagpipes! Ooh, great tale of the wicked priest! 😈 Oh no, one monk left on his own!! 😱 Hooray!! Happy ending!! 🙌😅
Lovely Cara I do apologise for not commenting on this wonderful video. Melrose Abbey is architecturally SO beautiful, loved listening to it's history and of course the tale of the vampire that resides here. Wow! You can only imagine how large this abbey would be in it's hey day! wow. Can see why Sir Walter Scott was inspired here, such beauty!! A wonderful video, thank you
There is planty to enjoy in the Borders. Formany years though we would pass by quickly as we headed to the highlands. Melrose Abbey we only visited more recently when Covid was easing. The fencing around the Abbey was by then in place awaiting the repairs that are now underway in your video. We were told that a fall of masonry at one Heritage Scotland site had led to precautions and surveys at all sites. Another place of great interest that is full of stories from its past. Best Wishes once more from Nottingham.
Hello Cara, the abbey was such an impressive looking building. The pig playing the bagpipes looked fun. Loved your narration and such an interesting subject. Brilliant that they are looking after the building. An eerie tale about the chaplin"s spirit. Take care x Julie and Tony x
Hi Cara, OMGoodness, Superb! You must be pleased to this trip. The rich heritage is all in Wealth and Power...I cannot imagine how much funds were spent. So much details.. It is ashamed we cannot go inside although I assume it is for the safety matter. Oh yes King Bruce....I learn about him here and there. This Abbey owns a lot of history. I thank you for your energy spending on research to editing. Well done. Happy Sunday evening

The Anglo Saxon word for vampire is Aglæca. There is no Latin or Old Norman word for it.
