I looked up this station and there is actually a real WSVL, but it is a now defunct low-power station on channel 48 formerly serving Keysville, Virginia. I believe it likely signed on originally as a translator of a larger station on the area. I wonder if this analog horror series is inspired by it. Also, I can imagine the 2G cellular interference pattern being very believable holding a period-correct cell phone up to a very cheap television set of the time. Also, in 1994 when this episode takes place, I very much doubt the Emergency Broadcast System would have used computerized speech synthesis to announce instructions during an emergency since the technology of the time would have been too primitive to be able to reliably generate intelligible speech. Therefore, they would have used a recording or live delivery using the voice of a real person.
Some of the most terrifying sounds I've heard , right up there with Vita carnis. How do you do all the 90s tv graphics and effects? They're amazing I wish I could make videos that good
