James Gunn makes really good looking films. I highly doubt this is a real, and finished still from Superman.

That's adorable, and if I didn't have two dogs already, I would 110% go adopt a shelter dog. This is so wonderful and for such a wonderful cause, I'm very emotionally attached to my pets so this is really perfect for me.
I thought Krypo worked well on the Titans series
its just a promotional pic, nothing to do with the look of the actual look of the movie lol
It's clearly a promo or photoshoot, it's not gonna be a scene from the movie.
Had a feeling you'd be posting soon once this dropped. I do believe it's meant to be a quick promo but it still works even if it looks slightly cheap. Because it's still conveying the emotions it needs you to feel. And I think Gunn's inclusion of Krypto and relating it to his experiences with a rescue dog that was problematic at the beginning, is a good way to show how this Superman is one who cares about the welfare of living creatures. But I'm also wondering if it's a clue that Krypto isn't a dog from Krypton in this universe. Like in 'Smallville' and 'Titans' he could be an experiment in splicing Kryptonian DNA being conducted by Lex Luthor. This adds to the theory that 'Ultraman' might be a version of Bizarro. Or even my own theory that it's the character who will become Apollo who will go on to be a member of the Authority. This is all speculation at this point of course.
This just gives me all the hope I need for the new DCU.

Nothing "clear" about it, promo tie ins use real movie footage all the time, this could very well be in movie footage/stills with the image of earth manipulated for rotation.
Stop coping and take things as they are until you have more information or the disappointment you feel when it turns out to be exactly what they were showing us all along will turn into rage

Hey, I recognize that guy! Thanks for the inclusion! I agree about the warm feeling you'd get from this image. I liked Krypto's inclusion on the live-action Titans series, but like the DCEU, that was a more grounded look even though he and Conner had a very familial bond.

I absolutely love that they put the Superman symbol on the cape and gave him red underwear im liking more and more of what I'm seeing about this movie plz James gunn make the action and flying scenes too and better than even man of steel which is very hard to do I don't think the story will be hard to beat because there was a lot in the man of steel they could have done better story wise but the cgi and action was the best till this day of any movie yet

I've nothing against dogs persé, but dogs used extensively in films are usually a cheap crutch to woo the audience when the writer/director and or producers have little faith in the movie or subject material, because a cute scruffy dog will always illicit an "awww" from the women and kids, it's the opposite of the kick the dog trope where you'll have a character kick or hurt a dog to solidify the "theyre evil" vibes for the audience
The use of either is usually a sign of weak of hackneyed writing that depends more on superficial "feels" than a compelling plot and it's worrying because I already had my heckles up with the manipulative story about his dad, that turned out to be a cheap marketing ploy that fell apart almost immediately after
I was expecting him to be maybe a lab like he does in other media but I like his hair looking a little messy it looks a little adorable
It’d be cool if we got like a poster and a tease of the theme at NYCC and then got a 1 minute teaser at CCXP

I feel really sorry for OMN.. he doesn't a know a thing about how this movie will look or what it'll be about but every day he stakes the reputation of his channel on it being good, I DGAF about anything DC related after the Jon Stewart casting, cause it showed me exactly where Gunns heads at and I checked out completely, but a small part of me hoped against hope Superman the OG wouldn't be goofy nonsense, every reveal is just screaming the opposite
Alot of people are gonna have me talking breakdowns when this turns out to just be Guardians part 4 with superman slapped on it &it's a shame really, cause as Superman castings/Cavill replacements go, Corenswet is about as good as it gets.

I have been seeing this for a while now, CGI isn't bad these days (for the most part), but the Cinematography is not complimenting the VFX
would be cool if Krypto had a Kryptonian translation device in his collar and he could talk with Clark. Maybe Kryptonian dogs are more evolved, smarter etc.

I guess that's where I differ. As a comic book collector since childhood, I've always fantasized about Superman. The older I got, the more I wanted Superman interacting in the real world.
I don't want to adopt the cheesy parts of comic books to the big screen. I'm not 7 years old anymore. I'm 50. Fifty and still a child at heart. Because I am, the need for enjoyment advances. Superman must be tailored for adults and grounded on reality.
How would our real world society interpret a super-powered alien being. What about politically? It's what what helps make Man of Steel and Batman v Superman so good! -OG

Similar to GOTG's, this will be aimed at families. Think of it like the advancement of media from a comic book to a comic movie. I'm around your age, but I was more into the cartoons and Christopher Reeve movies. It'll be cool for kids to grow up in awe of the imagination as well as adults appreciating the subtle nuances and nostalgia. Hopefully, as a childhood fan, you'll benefit from the throwback canon references.
@adriangriffith42 Everything has its place. I do appreciate the old school cartoons and would love today's kids to watch the classic Super Friends that I grew up on.
Being older, I appreciate the Justice League and Justice League Unlimited cartoons. They actually delve into adult themes but still manage to maintain their authenticity as entertaining cartoons for all to watch. Batman: The animated series was the best. 👌 -OG
@OurMovieNews I like your optimism. I have great difficulty extending optimism for James Gunn touching Superman. Superman is sacred for me in DC.
Something I don't see in Gunn. If it were another Guardians movie, I wouldn't care. I never had stakes in Guardians of the Galaxy.
Gunn tends to be attracted to the abstract lesser known characters in comics. That way, he can't go wrong because most fans never invested a lot in those characters. -OG
For the first reveal back in May there's probably a reason they went with that, there's probably hidden messages in it, some theories say the purple orb is Brainiac or Solaris or what ever? you can see his suit is burnt.
I can't believe there are people already falsely claiming that the new image of Superman and Krypto is AI generated. It's like the Salem Witch trials all over again. When you don't like something, you yell, "It's AI, it's AI!" Like how much little faith can you have for something 🤣
It does look like cheap hurried AI though, whether we should be up in arms over it is another question entirely (I think the fuss over AI is way overblown, even if it DOES look ghastly at times)
I haven't seen any BTS photo of Krypto, so I hope he isnt going to be a CGI character like Call of the Wild

I never got to enjoy anything affiliated to superman, sure I watched zack snyder's man of steel, but not in theaters, and never watched anything before man of steel. I usually watched spiderman, xmen, and anything marvel studios made from the mcu, and I never watched anything dc related. Except batman, I would watch anything batman centered, such shows like batman the brave and the bold and beware the batman, and I did expand a little bit by watching teen titans from 2003. But then watched superman's new tv show, my adventures with superman. Now that dc and warner bros is making superman their top priority, through dc studios and co ceo james gunn, superman is beginning to reclaiming his spot as "the superhero that matters" like spiderman and batman, I'm incredibly confident in watching james gunn's superman next year in theaters, alongside the new dcu slate.

@@Francescojg Zack Snyder was guest editor for a superhero issue for Inverse - dropped today/yesterday (depending on where you are in the world), hours before the Krypto reveal. It's like six articles. One has ZS interview Frank Miller and how comics changed in the '80s from the silver age; another on how that came to be; the superhero kink, etc. Not sure how you feel about ZS, but despite yours or some people's opinions, an interesting read all the same, all six articles. I was just pointing out that this appears to be a common occurrence. WB did this: when ZSJL released; when the Full Circle event was announced; when the Rebel Moon trailer released; for some other ZS event... Snydercon was it?; and something else from memory. None of it really important in regards to what WB 'just had to' get out. I mean the Krypto thing is kind of big, but the pattern is there, because the rest of it from WB felt like self-sabatage, because ZS's previous drops/announcements still overshadowed whatever WB's was trying to promote in an attempt to steal limelight.
