Another wonderful walk in the woods with you Simon. It was around the 15 minute mark of the film I realized I had a permanent smile on my face from the get go, such is the admittedly passive joy your work brings. Very nice images of course, but mostly the journey with you through the woods....such a delight. The last image - and I know the colour palette is different - reminds me of an impressionist painting à la Van Gogh....the "sky" behind the dark "tree branches", very painterly and evocative. Wonderful movement in that "starry sky". Great eye Simon. Keep on keepin' on.
Simon, if there was ever an Award for attitude, honesty and just good old Blokes like us you have my thanks and gratitude. Excellent video Simon. Thank you.
So often it seems that you go out with a "vision" that doesn't materialize because conditions aren't quite right, but then a surprise arises that results in a great image. Photography is nothing if not serendipitous.
Thank you, Simon....your videos are soothing. Anyone who thinks you might place a flower for your shots needs to get out of their sofa and go outdoors.
Thank you Simon for taking us with you on your woodland walks, great finds and final images. It reminded me of a walk I did 2 weeks ago that I need to go back too.
I don't have any woodlands to wander so my art consists of seaweeds, rocks and reflections. I'm very envious and adore what you've found today. I'm so glad my new friend told me your name.
Great video Simon …. So relaxing yet interesting …. It’s so good to see you spotting the fine details in nature that can otherwise be overlooked …. Inspires me to get back out! Four excellent images - well done.
That field tripod trick at about 15:00 min mark is a great idea... many ways to stabilize, but this is a new one for me... that last image is a wonderful reveal... Thank You
The images at 10:00 and 19:42 are my favorites. But all of them are good. You remind me to be honing my observation skills. Thanks for posting this video, Simon.
Wells, Simón, we are both in the same path. After 50 years doing landscape photos, now I am developing " minimal landscapes" at my cottage, here in the chilean patagonia, and I have a lot of fun with this exercise. Congratulations...
I think my biggest issue isn't with taking the photos, or creativity, it's not being able to do what I want in lightroom or photoshop with the photo. No real videos explaining or teaching color grading or how to do specific things exist tbh. Love the video btw, gives me a whole new perspective I've never thought of before. Great inspiration
I’m not the best at teaching these things and I always feel that every image has its own set of processing needs, which is why I don’t agree with presets. But I agree, the people who are notable photographers should start a channel and show us how they do it. That being said, some do but the charge for it.
@@SimonBoothPhotography nothing like the oldies. I kinda lost my inspiration for a while. Finally getting back into it. So catching up with your videos. I just got my first drone and love the new angles of photography even in all my old locations that I maxed out.
Simon, you have a wonderful calm, mindful approach to photography which is so inspiring. It's so true what you say, even when we don't come away with great images we can come away with a great experience. To my mind that is down to having an approach like yours. And you do always come away with beautiful images.
Thanks Mary. Yes, I always make sure that my mind is free from daily clutter on my photography days and this is also true of the days leading up to an outing where I gradually slow down my thinking.
Thank you for sharing your video Simon the photos where excellent as always especially the one with the two flowers and the last one. The pellet was a good find really enjoy listening to the way you explain nature
Great to see your photos again excellent content as usual just waiting to get back to my woodland area after my knee surgery this have spurred me on thank you
Another wonderful film. I enjoy them so much. They are relaxing to watch and the same time you always motivate me to grab my camera and go for a walk! And as always beautiful images, but I think the first one really was my favorite! Thank you, Simon!
Popped your video on, decided I wasn’t going out, three quarters the way through and you’ve kicked my arse and I’m going out to Jonnys woods. Lol the Booth affect! I also love stinking onions (Lilly of the valley) Thank you Simon beautiful images. I also love a triptych, stunning.
This video came up on my "Recommended" list and I'm SO glad I checked it out! This is exactly the kind of nature photography I love to do. This woodland you're in reminds me of one of my favorite locations in a nearby state park that I visit often, especially in the Spring. I really enjoy your approach to photography and the inspiration you present in your videos. I subscribed within the first five minutes of the video and look forward to catching up on the earlier ones. BTW, that's a brilliant (and useful) ground-level tripod tip!
Love these. No need to prove flower was not moved. Your keen eye and appreciation for what nature offers on its own is so evident. Thank you for sharing your knowledge of nature and the potential for art ot offers.
Beautiful images Simon! Just gorgeous in their tones and colours. My favourite was the first one. It had a simplicity to it that just seemed to connect with me today. Great to see you are now able to get out a bit more too.
Good morning ☀️ just watched your video and gave you a follow on instagram great gallery of pics and I enjoyed your insight on your composition and how you set up your shots!
Nice video Simon I got out today 11th April went to a different wood today for a change, I came back but not looked at the photos yet. Love d that sunken leaves in water and tht last shot of the honey fungus was the bonus one.
Glad you are back out again and recovered, Simon, and even with the large backpack already. Would have expected your first few trips to be just with cam and one lens or so. Always enjoying your calm and thoughtful videos a lot, thank you!
One of the Canadian photographers I know on Facebook has an image of s tree surrounded by dozens of long eared owl pellets, their habit of returning to the same tree makes getting a portrait easier but their preference for conifers can be challenging. I love that creative use of the tripod and I'm always a fan of your images.
Another great video Simon. What I love most is your ability to find art in the things that most of us step over. You’re an inspiration and it is always teaching me to look more closely at nature and the environment around me and that its not necessary to travel far and shoot vistas to find joy in photography.
@@SimonBoothPhotography I didn't have a particular movie in mind, it just has that mood / feeling 😁 his most famous I guess is Nightmare before Christmas
Close up/macro photography is a whole different type of photography. You have to look deep into the surroundings to find what is in front of you the whole time.
As always, Simon, a real delight to view and listen to your videos. The last photo of the chopped trunk is so wonderful, the way you framed it creating an abstract black tree emerging from the dirt.

Nature producing its own art. We need to slow down, enjoy it and produce wonderful photos ,as you achieved in the video
Absolutely right
So often it seems that you go out with a "vision" that doesn't materialize because conditions aren't quite right, but then a surprise arises that results in a great image. Photography is nothing if not serendipitous.
I rarely find exactly the right thing, but it's often similar enough to satisfy me.
fantastic shots. especially liking the third.
What an eye for detail! Beautiful images and really well presented. 👍🏻
I was feeling quite inspired on this morning and the images really flowed.
That last photo was just awesome 👌
Glad you liked it Jean-Guy

Hi Carolyn. I should do more coastal really but my local cost is made of mostly just large expanses of flat featureless sand. Thanks for watching.
