Simon, I always enjoy the hoar frost images. It really makes you stop and slow down. We don’t have that in California (where I’m at). The delicate nature of it is magical. Thanks for sharing
What a wonderful set of images Simon you really are a master of your craft and a delight to follow . Those are a great start to the New Year please never stop posting you are an inspiration to us all .
Those are terrific! I love the burdock, such beauty from what can be such a nuisance, wish I was a burdock pod ;-) The beach scene is quite special. Nice to have something you don't have to photo-stack eh? Love your compositions sir. Happy new year!
Best to you in the new year. Thanks for continuing to be an inspiration and demonstrating ways to find the beauty in small scenes. That being said I particularly liked the beach huts shot and the play of light.
Beautiful first photo Simon... a wonderful reveal 🙂 fresh baking and warm drinks sound like a perfect finish to the session... this week in Manitoba, Canada we have had beautiful sunshine and windchills at -40c 🙂
A very Happy New Year looking forward to another year of inspirations from you Simon. Thought you might have done some wild swimming while you were in Suffolk !!! I really love the first image, well spotted, nothing better than a bit of hoar to make things magical. P.S. love Willows new coat.
Happy New Year to you too Annette. We did consider wild swimming. Me and my Partner Ruth that is, but it never happened on this occasion. Willow does it at every opportunity. With or without a coat.
Hi Simon, a fantastic video, buddy! Ahh, I like this subtle hoarfrost in your images. It is not much, but for intimate photographs as you showed, absolutely gorgeous. So storytelling... 😉 Thank you for sharing this video and nice greetings, Christian
I am always amazed at how you find your compositions and make something simple into such a beautiful image. Looking forward to following on in 2025. Happy New Year Simon.
It's a funny old thing asking me to rate my close-ups Chris. Because I don't struggle to find them, I almost devalue them when comparing them to let's say, a larger more complex picture of a woodland, or a big landscape. I'd give it four certainly. A five would have to be quite special indeed and I don't think this is quite that. It is beautiful though.
I wish you a great New Year from Denmark. Anybody who maintains that photography is not art after having seen your production is a bloody fool. I hope you enjoy your hobby as much as i enjoy watching you work.
Hello Simon Happy new year and great images as always. We had nearly the same conditions here in Bavaria. But with fog and no sun. All was white from the frost and the fog, realy amazing. Grt Ernesto
Thanks so much for continued instruction, teaching, inspiration, and, of course, your lovely art. Willow to boot! (subscriber John David Duke on yet another account)
Hey Simon. Hope you are well. Lovely video and you even had a 'film plan' as you switched to the coast and back again... even mentioning it in your narrative. Organised! 😊 Really love the frosting the plant life shots Simon. When is your exhibition? Speak soon
Another great video, thanks Simon. Out of interest what nodal rail do you use? I'm wanting one to use with my Pentax K1 and 100mm macro to take shots looking down at the ground and to avoid having to keep moving my tripod to compose with this prime lens. Thank you.
I just had a look Philip and I'm not really sure. It's not very well branded. It looks like KES or KLS. In any case, I wouldn't get too concerned about which to buy. They all do pretty much the same thing.
Happy New year Simon and thank you for taking the time to make us another inspiring video. Am i right and thinking you're still using the Pentax? I use the full frame K1ii and at my age, im hoping it will last to my dying day. I can't fault it and love Pentax's excellent weather sealing. Beautiful and truly inspiring images as always
Thanks Steve. That was the big Pentax yes. Potentially that was the last time you’ll see it in action. I’ve been out today with the new kit and I’m very pleased with it so far. It’ll be interesting to see what my audience thinks.
You can't be too far away from me on the West Pennine Moors. Plenty of Himalayan Balsam for ripping out (in summer) around the Wayoh reservoir, plus many plant / tree photo spots around the nature reserve part.
nice images, as always. thank you! did you consider composing the beachhut-image in a way, where the horizon gets clipped by at least the highest beachhut-roofs? i wonder what it'd have looked like and i'm interested in your thoughts.
Your ability to find beauty in both vast landscapes and intimate details is truly remarkable. Thank you for sharing, Simon! 🖤

Love the light you were working with for the second image at the coast. Lovely indeed.
Huge appreciation as always to the care you take in selecting compositions.
Love the subtle colour in that first shot. The others are good, but that's the one that's making me jealous today!
It worked out well that one David. Not every day I find those.
Inspiring.

Simon, you have started 2025 with a gorgeous and stunning set of images. May the remainder of your year be as fruitful. Thanks for sharing.

Fabulous images Simon. Thanks for sharing. Kind regards - Robin
Beautiful set of images and a great video once again!
Thanks for the video, nice to see you getting out and taking advantage of the "bad" weather
It's a case of make hay while the frost lasts I guess.

Thanks Simon. Also glad to see that you took the sensible approach and got rid of the pesky ship on the Suffolk horizon in post!

Thanks Simon , what a fabulous first image. (5 ?). That lens is just superb. Possibly the last outing for the Pentax ?

Are You not worried about diffraction using F16 ?
Not at all on medium format. Could you see any?
@@SimonBoothPhotography no, just wondering
