Really appreciate your edited intro! Also loved your discussion about DNF-ing palettes! It’s an interesting concept, I’d also be interested in knowing which palettes you at first didn’t like but revisited and ended up liking and keeping.
@@curatedbycristina7923 that’s a good idea!! I was just running through the list and it’s almost always neutral palettes I dislike at first and then go oh wait this is nice 😂
Thank you for bringing concerns up for your viewers. I’d like to see more thought behind content creators purchasing from Sephora since they are a huge donator to groups that also hurt people.
I have definitely been shopping Ulta more since all of that came out! What’s hard with a larger brand like Sephora is it feels less personal I think? So people are less connected to it. Idk if I know how to explain it but I agree with you!
Thanks for talking about ER. I am not on IG very much so I haven't heard about it. I love ranking videos because they're generally an hour+ and I love long videos
It is baffling to me to see people so passionately defend ER when it really just boils down to do they only want my money or do they actually care about a community lol. They would hate how passionate I am about gender freedom. Therefore, not worth my time. I want the secret garden sssssooooooo baaaaaaaaaad.. it's the one palette I wanna get other than that avatar earth kingdom one by lethal cosmetics. I'll probably find both secondhand one day when I'm employed again lol Your taste is so interesting cuz it's very 70s funky paisley print. Super specific yet you have a full spectrum of tones showcased here. I wonder which ones will pop up again next year 👀
I love that you could pin down my taste because I normally feel like I’m all over the place!! Also 100% on the Ensley Reign stuff. You put that thought into much better words than I could!
I really love the fact that you update palettes to make them more appealing to you! I should start doing that as well 🙈 I don’t always want to have 3 or 4 palettes on my desk 🙈😅
So much of what you said resonates with me! The book DNF comparison is such a good one. And I agree with your comments on the Narimi mattes. When I tried Narimi for the first time, I kept thinking how incredible the mattes are & why am I not using palettes that excite me that much each time I do my makeup. That’s really what I want for 2025 - to feel the best each time I do makeup & not use anything reluctantly. The potential shade swap in cyborg choir reminded me that I wanted to do something similar - I’m going to bring one of the holochromes into element 115 since I also think two are too similar! I have two of your top 10 & I have a few others on my wishlist! Green & pink have also been a loved combo for me this year
@@alittlebitofgoldglitter3935 I love green and pink!! And yes we should always love doing our makeup!! Thanks for speaking out! I cant support ER anymore after this, even though i do have 2 palettes from them that I love. I guess the brand owner learned nothing from what happened to JD glow. Wouldn't surprise me if this is the death of the brand.

ER has had controversy since they became a brand. They went through a name change, as their original name contained a slur. Before the name switch, they doubled down on the name that contained the slur, just like they did with the AI art at first. Even in 2024, they still owned the website with that name and had the site pointed to ER. It wasn't until the AI art controversy, when people were calling them out on it on IG , and they were deleting those comments and blocking the folks bringing it up, did ER decide to not make that site public anymore. I'm not shocked with this news one bit.
@@cheri2356 that part! I think that’s why it was easy for me to cut ties. I said in my Cold Moon video that I didn’t love the AI art but was waiting to see what else the brand said/did. Since then they’ve just continuously shown that their values and mine don’t align!
I hadn't heard about the Ensley Reign fiasco but I did see their apology slides and wondered what that was about. I was also disappointed to see their new Wolf Moon palette with AI images. I though they were going to stop using AI images. I posted on their story asking about it. I love their eyeshadows but they are so disappointing as a brand. I don't think I can support them anymore.
I didn’t even touch on the use of AI again after they said they were working with artists. That’s an issue that probably would’ve turned me off from the brand in and of itself! I just wouldn’t have announced my departure the same way
