How you were talking about the unearthly Just A Taste palette is how I feel about the Cosmic Beauty Muse palette! It's my favorite for that reason, and the amazing quality of course. I have yet to see another palette that inspires me so much, I can see endless looks from it! I really want to try the BBB Poison Garden because it's so beautiful and it looks inspiring, hopefully I can try it next year and I'll feel inspired by it too!

I get hard pan in EVERY palette from odens eye. Usually in the shimmers but sometimes the mattes. Thank you for addressing the ER drama. I won’t be supporting them anymore. ETA: I love that you actually have real criticisms with palettes and formulas. It shows that you are very critical and unbiased in your reviews

I also just found out that AI is bad for the environment. I had no idea about the energy required for it, and it's frustrating that it is hard to avoid on phones/devices with it showing up everywhere.
You're definitely not the only one with issues with the Oden's Eye palettes... The last good one I had was the original Hela palette. After that I bought a few and they all had issues. Even if it didn't hard pan I had a bunch of patchy application with the dark shades and they were so hard to use. I've sworn off of Oden's Eye and I feel suspicious of channels that give them good reviews now. Did you buy the OE palletes yourself? There was a conspiracy theory floating around that they send higher quality palettes as PR, but if that isn't true then maybe influencers are afraid to give honest reviews which is why I'm paying attention to the Oden's Eye reviews to know if I can trust a review.

Also a subscription box yeah to nay quickly was this month I got my first Ensley Reign palette from eyescream beauty box. My adult autistic child is bi-gendered and my second oldest adult son is gay. He loves to take my highlighters. I haven't even swatched the Bunny 🐇 palette. I will be trading it. I was so excited until I looked up a tutorial and saw many of my favorite most respected people talking about this. I have to draw a line somewhere. There's many other brands to try! One less brand to collect 😊
I respect your opinion to not review ER further, but it doesn't seem like a true ranking if it's not actually all the palettes you've tried. I'm now looking for other brands that are at least as good as ER palettes, so leaving them in your rankings would have helped me with future purchasing decisions.
I appreciate that Tiffany, and do completely understand where you are coming from ♥️ I will say I think if you are looking for impactful special shades like those from ER, I would point you in the direction of Bella Beaute Bar or Adept. Unearthly has amazing shifty shadows but they aren't as textured as some of my ER palettes. I don't know if this helps at all, I hope maybe a little☺️ I didn't consider this going into the ranking, but I do see where you are coming from, a part of my wishes I would have maybe done a community poll.

That enrages me. Nothing makes me more upset than someone (or a brand) speaking their mind which hurts other people, but then not welcoming criticism or feedback. It’s giving narcissistic 🤢 so problematic, and I’m embarrassed it took me this long to realize
I have the BBB Angles of Illumination palette and I’m so surprised when I see it come in lower on people’s rankings. I LOVE that palette. It is so useful to use with all of the mattes in my collection. I don’t feel like I even need any other indi palette because that has every special shimmer I could possibly want, except for a red though. I see palette with beautiful blue shimmers, or blue/brown shimmers, or orange, pinks etc. then I remember I have those shades in that Illumination palette. 🤷🏻♀️
It had been a bit since I had reached for it when I pulled it out to do this ranking, and then when I inserted the swatches too, I was like... Okay I forgot how much I love this palette. I left it out on my desk to get use out of this January because the shimmers are SO good & pair beautifully with some of my ND palettes, etc. Especially when I want something a little extra shimmery! ♥️♥️
A make up brand should stick to what they know: make up! Thanks for addressing the ER issue. I really wanted to try their palettes in 2025 but now, no thank you. Poison garden deserves the crown! That one is my darkhorse as it's different from everything else I own. Best collab palettes lethal and avatar the last Airbender. I got all 4 and have no regrets. Best cool toned - unearthly dreamer. Best warm toned is unearthly high temps and best neutral its a tie between nudetrals and barely basic by glaminatrix. Best spring palette is spring magic by unearthly again. Undergrowth is the best green one and the best basics are the triochrome and the biba which I got early this year. The Pokemon palette is the one I shouldn't have bought that one was my disappointment so I think that means I did well with what I purchased this year.
Those are good call outs, and I would actually agree that I do think there is overlap. I would say that some of the shifty shades are slightly different, but overall color story I think you nailed it that there is absolutely overlap♥️

I would love for creators to be as outraged at Huda for her antisemitic rants on video and social media as they are at ER page for liking these posts. But it’s crickets from the beauty community over that. Crickets. I figured when all the Huda rants came out, hey maybe creators just see makeup as makeup. It bothered me to see her products in videos. But I just decided to continue to support those creators. But then when the reaction to the ER issue was so swift, damning of the company, and abrupt likely before many looking into the details. It really shows some abhorrent double standard.
Speaking out against Israel is not anti-sematic. Israel is not Judism, it’s a nation that uses its military might to slaughter thousands and displace thousands more. These are not even close to being equivalent situation and Huda was right to participate in the boycotts of Israel, especially as she is of a muslim background herself.
I think only Makeupcrazy spoke up against this after Oct 7 and the IG posts I saw where incredibly problematic back then. Many brands that have been either discriminatory to a customer with a disability or problematic when it comes to racial stereotypes also received a pass from influencers. I am not saying creators should purchase from ER as that is their choice but it is incredibly telling when they cancel them for “not being in their values” with the implication that these other forms of discrimination is not seen as harsh. It actually has made me want to unsubscribe to a lot of influencers who show the double standard and just judge purchases for myself.
I will be honest I really don't stay very up to date on all things beauty news. I think I quickly came across the ER stuff because I was such a fan of the brand, follow their page, etc. I will be honest I have not personally seen, or read anything about Huda Beauty/October 7th, but will now be digging into this. I agree with you, I think that everyone should judge purchases for themselves, and I will be the first to admit that I am not perfect, nor do I follow enough to keep up with every bad thing a brand has said or done. I genuinely appreciate you sharing your opinion and feedback, and you are so right, calling out a brand for one thing, but ignoring another brand doing something else really crappy can/does send a message that one form a discrimination is "worse" than the other. Thank you for sharing this, because this really does make me consider the message I personally am sending to my audience ♥️

Unfortunately the Huda situation was swept under the rug by the beauty community as most are focused on the concerns for the humanitarian crisis in Gaza but Huda shared in her IG stories open support /justification and mockery for what occurred with the civilian Jewish population - I don’t know if I have seen anyone document the initial stories that everyone was concerned with (only the brands response to being called out) but makeupcrazy atleast shared to her followers and I saw the stories around Oct 7 justifying what happened to civilians. I know I can get a little heated on the disconnect as I have seen hate crimes occurring in Australia very recently and I would just like influencers to be mindful if some brands are actively promoted whilst others are boycotted how it can appear.
I tried the rosewood mini palette from ND.. I am kinda dumbfounded that I am not so impressed. I got it in an ipsy but still. I will keep trying to get impressed. Gorgeous swatched and such but not different than other shadows of that color. I found it actually more difficult to not make a muddy mess. Perhaps it's cuz I am poor that I am having trouble with quality 😊. Lol😅

I can spend my money however I like, just as others can. IMO, "cancelling" (which never really happens anyway) is when you encourage people to go attack someone/a brand (which - uncool), not when you exercise a perfectly rational choice to support those whose values align with yours. Maybe ER will gain some support from others who agree with them now! But no more from me unless they have a believable turnaround. (And I've bought almost every palette they sell.)

I am seeing this comment a few times, and I will shamefully admit that I really do not keep up with much beauty news. I think I saw the ER news quickly because I keep up with that brand daily. I am now looking into the Huda Beauty issues, and am very sorry that I am just now learning of some of these things. I will be digging in further & doing my research. I would love for creators to be as outraged at Huda for her antisemitic rants on video and social media as they are at ER page for liking these posts. But it’s crickets from the beauty community over that. Crickets. I figured when all the Huda rants came out, hey maybe creators just see makeup as makeup. It bothered me to see her products in videos. But I just decided to continue to support those creators. But then when the reaction to the ER issue was so swift, damning of the company, and abrupt likely before many looking into the details. It really shows some abhorrent double standard.
Speaking out against Israel is not anti-sematic. Israel is not Judism, it’s a nation that uses its military might to slaughter thousands and displace thousands more. These are not even close to being equivalent situation and Huda was right to participate in the boycotts of Israel, especially as she is of a muslim background herself.
I think only Makeupcrazy spoke up against this after Oct 7 and the IG posts I saw where incredibly problematic back then. Many brands that have been either discriminatory to a customer with a disability or problematic when it comes to racial stereotypes also received a pass from influencers. I am not saying creators should purchase from ER as that is their choice but it is incredibly telling when they cancel them for “not being in their values” with the implication that these other forms of discrimination is not seen as harsh. It actually has made me want to unsubscribe to a lot of influencers who show the double standard and just judge purchases for myself.
I will be honest I really don't stay very up to date on all things beauty news. I think I quickly came across the ER stuff because I was such a fan of the brand, follow their page, etc. I will be honest I have not personally seen, or read anything about Huda Beauty/October 7th, but will now be digging into this.
I agree with you, I think that everyone should judge purchases for themselves, and I will be the first to admit that I am not perfect, nor do I follow enough to keep up with every bad thing a brand has said or done.
I genuinely appreciate you sharing your opinion and feedback, and you are so right, calling out a brand for one thing, but ignoring another brand doing something else really crappy can/does send a message that one form a discrimination is "worse" than the other.

Unfortunately the Huda situation was swept under the rug by the beauty community as most are focused on the concerns for the humanitarian crisis in Gaza but Huda shared in her IG stories open support /justification and mockery for what occurred with the civilian Jewish population - I don’t know if I have seen anyone document the initial stories that everyone was concerned with (only the brands response to being called out) but makeupcrazy atleast shared to her followers and I saw the stories around Oct 7 justifying what happened to civilians. I know I can get a little heated on the disconnect as I have seen hate crimes occurring in Australia very recently and I would just like influencers to be mindful if some brands are actively promoted whilst others are boycotted how it can appear.

I tried the rosewood mini palette from ND.. I am kinda dumbfounded that I am not so impressed. I got it in an ipsy but still. I will keep trying to get impressed. Gorgeous swatched and such but not different than other shadows of that color. I found it actually more difficult to not make a muddy mess. Perhaps it's cuz I am poor that I am having trouble with quality 😊. Lol😅

Thanks for addressing ER. I am always baffled that some people seem to think we have a responsibility to give our money and time to brands who do shizzy things - um, no. I can spend my money however I like, just as others can. IMO, "cancelling" (which never really happens anyway) is when you encourage people to go attack someone/a brand (which - uncool), not when you exercise a perfectly rational choice to support those whose values align with yours. Maybe ER will gain some support from others who agree with them now! But no more from me unless they have a believable turnaround. (And I've bought almost every palette they sell.)

I don’t think I’m “cool” because of an opinion I have 😂 I believe everyone is entitled to their opinion and I’m not telling anyone to stop buying from ER, just explaining why I won’t currently be- as it is a brand I have supported all year. For me ER has promised things in the past and words haven’t matched their actions and I think they come across as fake because of that. It’s not any brand or persons job to appease to the masses, and maybe they will get a different pool of consumers now- good for them if they do! I just can’t stand when someone’s actions don’t match their words and that is really my biggest problem with the brand.

I am seeing this comment a few times, and I will shamefully admit that I really do not keep up with much beauty news. I think I saw the ER news quickly because I keep up with that brand daily. I am now looking into the Huda Beauty issues, and am very sorry that I am just now learning of some of these things. I will be digging in further & doing my research. Thank you for commenting & bringing light to this to me ♥️♥️ I never want anyone in my community to feel like I am okay with a certain discrimination, but not of another, so I do apologize if that is the message that it felt like I sent.
