My brother ordered a camponotus Sylvacticus colony but the Queen and all the workers are jet black...is this normal?
Also, I've had my Camponotus cruentatus colony for over a year, they have over 60 workers but no majors, why is this?
Hey thanks for watching! I got my sylvaticus from the ant lady, I'm assuming you think yours don't look like mine? You can send me some photos and I'll have a look if you want
The cruentatus majors will come eventually, think I got my first at around 50 workers ish. Some may just make them sooner or slower then others, it felt like a lifetime before I got my first messor barbarus major, think it wasn't till about 100 workers 🙈 I reckon you'll get them very soon tho. I heat all of them with heat mats. My colonies are all in my living room which isn't the warmest so yea I have to heat them lol
