Will we ever see Cowdenbeath back in the SPFL again? 👀
Maybe😂
nah, cant wait for their derby against the mighty glenrothes in the east of scotland league next season 🤣
Hard to see them getting out of the Lowland League. Unless it's downwards.
To be honest we need a couple of years mid table in Lowland and get a big push back to the SPFL
Hopefully
What a sad story, and hats off to those fans who carry on supporting despite the decline in the club's fortunes. When I was a young boy in Devon over 70 years ago I used to enjoy listening to the lovely and sometimes strange - to me, anyway - Scottish names on BBC Sports Report on at 5pm every Saturday: Third Lanark, Brechin, Arbroath, Stenhousemuir (I particularly liked that one), Cowdenbeath etc, and wondered where these places were. Years later as an adult touring Scotland I found out these towns were real and was able to visit some of them! I"m in Canada now and still check all the English and Scottish results each Saturday.
Hope Cowdenbeath miss yet another drop this year, and survive to see better days. Good luck!
So sad that huge Premiership League teams are splashing out millions on players when smaller teams like this are struggling….bigger clubs should be obliged to support clubs like this..Blackpool fan of 60 years
Fun fact but the Brazil national teams nickname is the yellow Cowdenbeath.
Incredible 😂
Where did you read that ?
Here are some actual nicknames
Canary Squad
The Selection
Little Canary
Little Yellow
Green-Yellow
Is it ?? Aye ???😂😂
Cracking vid pal new subscriber from manchester.
As a Manchester United supporter from Salford, Lancashire, it’s heartbreaking to see one of the familiar names at football focus results , Cowdenbeath is as well known to me as Nottingham Forest is , keep Cowdenbeath ALIVE
iam like that ,when i got more interested in the lower league football tables chester and hartlepool were bottom 2 div 4, sad so see likes of hereford , scunthorpe rochdale etc out the efl and might not return for many years
As a Cowdenbeath fan, I think we can stay up this year we badly need some investment and I hope and pray we will make it back to the SPFL
@Arran.1546 I hope so too hope you get there, a qpr fan
@@Arran.1546 do you boys have a pub you go to before a game ? I’m English but visiting wife’s family in lochore , love to pop along to a game have a pint
As a Wigan fan, i remember year's ago our old ground of Springfield park had a stand on one side of the ground, and a standing covered area on the other side which had a leaking roof. Interesting vlog though. Very much hope your situation improves.
I visited Cowden on my visits to all the 42 Scottish grounds at the time. They were a lovely friendly club and did the best programme in the league. I hope you get back in the League but it could take time. All the best with it.
I'm a Reading supporter , I feel your pain. Best wishes and good luck.
Great video Blair, good luck for the future, hope they make it.
They are 8 points clear of relegation in the Lowland League, so I doubt they'll go down again. It's a trend in recent years for ex-league clubs to go down. It's a similar story for Berwick, East Stirling, Albion Rovers and Brechin. They just don't have the support/money to stay in the league and once they fall out it's so tough to get back with only one possible promotion spot. I'm sure this trend will continue.
I lived and worked in Cowdenbeth ( At Mossmorren ) in 1980 and used to stay with Jim Renton Scottish and UEFA referee and then the Junction Bar whose games I watched every Saturday ( I visited most grounds in Scotland with Jim. Even then every Saturday the buses would line up on the high street taking fans to watch Celtic or Rangers and this is the reason for the decline in football in Scotland
Aye. Lack of local pride is weird in Scotland. Doesn't happen in Italy Spain or Germany
I loved going away to Cowden to watch my team Stirling Albion, such a unique ground! Truly missed, don't care how much stick it gets!
A proper stadium!
I have only been once to see Cowdenbeath play and that was against Morton in about 1961-63. A great crowd and a good match. I can't remember the result but I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the colourful language from the fans. I was visiting my grandma in Lochgelly so it would have been July or August. I still follow their results (I'm a Hull City fan, thats where I was born) and am very sad at how far they have slipped down the leagues. I still hope that they will turn it all around and begin the climb upwards again.
As a youngun I would hear it as ‘Cow then beef’ on the radio full time results on a Saturday 😂 Good luck to them and the fans in the future
Great vid Blair. I remember Sam North showing Cowdenbeath and saying how the former league clubs have (as yet) never come back. A real shame.
Love watching the lower league Scottish games.
All the best Cowdenbeath from a WEST BROMWICH ALBION fan.😊
My wife’s sister use to owned kingdom laundry in Cowdenbeath , I’m English Watford fan but love Cowdenbeath land always followed them
As,a pars fan,I wish them all the best
It's home to the regulars, but I dislike grounds with stockcar or greyhound surrounds. You're half a pitch away from the touchline, and need binoculars for the opposite goal. Cowdenbeath's best hope is plaything of a wealthy American. Not as mad as it once sounded.
I remember a cracking Cowdenbeath team with Greg Stewart and Kane Hemmings ripping Accies to shreds at NDP in 2013/14, going 4-0 up. We fought back to lose 3-4. A few months later we were winning at Hibs and getting promoted to the Premier.
Cowden showed ambition to get that far up the ladder but hard times can hurt small clubs like Cowden very quickly and, once in decline, it can be hard to stop. Look at Brechin. Albion Rovers had one bad season and now they're gone, Berwick too.
Loving your content mate. Keep up the good work. Cheers from New Zealand 🇳🇿
the demise started when gordon mcdougall left, as he owned both the club and the racing the racing subsidized the football. Might be a crap football ground but the racewall on a big night is buzzing, roar of the crowd, squeal of the tyres, 30 tuned engines at full chat. Get yourself to the banger world cup
Speak to Gordon at every Hibs game, he definitely done a lot for Cowden
They will survive this season comfortably Broomhill are awful and Dougie has got couple good results lately. Tough losing captain and manager and assistant having to play plus an older coach. Got some bodies in and will creep up the table IMO
I used to drive the team bus in the time of Jimmy Nicol, and Mickey Cameron when they were in the second tier,. I even took them over to Northern Ireland, for a pre season friendly against Balymena. Jimmy Nicol, Is a great guy.
One must say, one was incontrovertibly amused by the gentleman in the audience questioning the gusto with which the fellow took to the pre-match meal, in such an abrupt and forthright manner.
Even ten years ago cowden barely had 700 home fans
Good luck for the rest of the season
Although the stadium really isnt the best i always look out for there results. Saw my team lose many times but would love to see them thrive again.
Great video
Am a Spurs fan and hate to see the demise of any club, its beyond sad to me. Saw a programme about Bury going having been a FA cup winner in the past. Not a pleasant programme to watch.
you should come to see The New Saints vs Penybont in the Cymru premier league this Saturday! it could be a title decider!
I bet there aren't too many football grounds with traffic lights in them. As a littleun Cowdenbeath & Stenhousemuir always stood out on the final scores. My boys dropped five levels in eleven seasons. I know what it feels like.
Hope there circumstances change for the better
Thank you bud ✌️
The only game I ever watched in Scotland was Cowdenbeath FC versus Annan Athletic in August 2019, with the home side comfortably winning 3-1. My two sons and myself were part of the visiting supporters hordes (which totalled 13 supporters all counted). Friendly folk at Cowdenbeath FC, I have to say. But the stadium was obviously showing signs of better days that have gone, possibly forever.
Berwick Rangers are even closer to the drop zone. The problems for sides this season compared to the recent past is that there aren't any duffers down the bottom who are certain to be relegated.
gd vid mate keep it up
Great video as usual. How about trying something different and come along to a Stock Car Meeting to do a video? A few good meetings at Cowdenbeath this year including the F2 World Final in September when the place will be packed to the rafters!!
👀
When I went to school(Beath Junior)in Cowdenbeath we had to go to the ground to watch teachers v pupils at the end of term, it was a bloodbath
Huge capacity? According to their website the ground holds less than 4,500!!
That’s probably the seats availible for purchase
Great video. Any publicity to the cause appreciated. Incredibly met another Cowden fan in a pub recently. Which in West Sussex is an achievement. See you soon.
Cowdenbeath played in the most entertaining and wild match I've ever been to, when they played away at Brechin and won 7-5. It was 22 years ago, so I doubt you were around for that one Blair! Time has not been kind to either team since then.
He just emerged from the ‘stand’ onto the track. As you do. Wonder if anyone would notice if he just sauntered across the pitch ?
What has Donald Findlay KC done since coming to Cowdenbeath FC🤔🤔🤔
Heartbreaking Absolutely Heartbreaking
Who else was willing them to win?
Sounds a lot like my club Albion Rovers, every former SPFL club is in the same state pretty much, we all deserve better
I agree absolutely, as a fellow Wee Rover. Clubs like Cowden and the Rovers struggled with big, old grounds to maintain while newcomers with artificial pitches and basic grounds could put most of their income into their team, and thus take advantage of the pyramid system.
jesus,thats grim,what a shame
Visited not so long ago for the second time and it has gone down hill since the first visit.
The problem is the stadium, it is frankly dire, not intimacy or atmosphere.
Think they maybe be better served by a new ground and leave the cars to it.
Hi great video, shame that, as a 60 plus footy fan love all the lower league footy. To much money in the game now same big clubs making it.
Never seen how big that place is.😮
Can't beat an away day at Central Park.
Blair great video, keep up the good work.
🙌🏻
I loved going to Cowdenbeath as a visiting fan. The indian restaurant next to it is superb 👌
Love you so much bless you and your family
Shame that stadium could hold 7k supporters easy. Probably the best stockcar track in Britain. Hope cowdenbeath get some investment soon😢
All the best to Cowdenbeath
If people actually cared about this club they would buy tickets, merch, and there would be no problems. The fact is, nobody cares about this club anymore and it is just dying out naturally. If you want to help keep them afloat in the short-term donate your money.
The loss to cornbeef sealed there fate.
Did they swap sides? I seen that they didn’t
Cup runs are no help when trying to stay up.
It,s sad Tae see another Scottish club nearly going out of existence.hopefully they can get some investment Tae keep going and try build something for the future.
Have a look at some aussie ultras we are very good tbh if you do decided to look at some the best teams to look at are Melbourne victory, sydney fc and western sydney wanders. Melbourne victory probably have the most people and are the loudest but sydney fc are very good a tifos and allowed pyro when most teams are not.
Click bait. They 8pts clear of relegation and broomhill are awful. Come on lad. Poor stuff
I was thinking this myself
Looks like 1970s eastern europe
Well it was a communist stronghold in the County Council days 😂
Insult to Eastern Europe.
One of the best grounds in Scotland.
How many fans go to each game now 2025. I heard since club .lost it's ownership of the ground, now club hires the ground. it lost it soul, its willing to push throught the hard times in away. If there was second chance at the club, what would the fans do? If it was me asking this question, buy the ground back, talk to fans and local people around the area for ideas, have meets, bring in local legends to board, start updating ground, forces on the future.
First third Larnark, Clydebank Airdrionians Rangers, now Cowdenbeath. Perhaps the blue Brazil can reform as a new club and carry on , as it were. Its been done before
Imagine getting mashed by a stock car. Whilst eating a macaroni pie.
Does that happen often?
It's sad when a loses It's identity n slowly fades into away. I hope at some point a investor comes. But the Scottish leagues are poor financial wise
Clubs like Cowdenbeath Berwick Rangers Brechin City and East Stirling since going out of the Scottish League, investment is needed hugely for these clubs to survive or it could be dark times eventually
Brechin will get back up, but teams like Berwick and cowden are ran by dinosaurs and are miles behind EK ,Tranent etc
Cool stadium
I was ballboy for them in that game
Fight on that's all you can do, Brechin are fighting, look at Berwick and East Stirlingshire same for them, Albion Rovers. Its a shame but don't give up.
Have they ever been in the SPL?
Ive notice last year that investment, in scottish football clubs are non existant, I think the league need to do more to protect clubs that are struggling financially, it's massive shame because it impacts the local business and local people. If there where grants in places, and league tables simplified and 16 or 20 in each league, with less spending rules, scotland football could grow again. There are so much un tapped talent footballers in non league to lowland/highland league it's crazey, these players should be playing in higher leagues, but scottish fia care more about Premier, it has to change or there will not have league any above league 1 soon, as clubs struggling so much with money.
3.01 is Dundee vs rangers
I know how you feel , Peterborough United are going the same way.
The rangers 2012 ran riot 😂😂😂😂 wallopers
Cowdenbeath F.C., the blue Brazil.
I play for blue brazil
Idle boast.
What?
Always in East Fife’s shadow.
Carnage mate
Asking the secretary how it feels to be part of the demise…..rub some more salt in! Jeezo
And yet that question produced a very heartfelt and interesting answer...
@ a defeated man. Quite sad to see. Hope the club survives
Will you be at the Bohs v Rovers match in the Aviva Blair.
👀
When was it “thriving”. Can you define “thriving”.
When is the FENIX Trophy video coming out?
⏳
It's "CowdenbeaTH" not "Cowdenbeef" 🙄
This guy loves to over dramatise everything.
Cowdenbeath has never been a favourite away day.
Am playing there academy on sunday
sad
Stayed in cowden my whole life and I can safely say central park is easily the worst stadium in the UK
Can't agree with that. It has great character.
@Ncfc-ek8il being a shite hole doesn't equal character 😂
Can u go to a Shotts Bon accord game pls and see block b
Under 20 mins
More likely to get relegated again. They will reach their level. These teams should be relegated. They give nothing to the Scottish league now. Albion Rovers, Berwick Rangers, East Stirling, Cowdenbeath goodbye and good riddance. Byebye.
We are fine. We will not get relegated. Far from it. The club is going along nicely financially. And settling in nicely to Loveland league life. No danger of us going out of business. And our crowds are extremely high in comparison to most other lowland league clubs. Stop this bait. Maybe next time report on how the club is actually been run and stop guessing for bait viewers.
Another clueless football UA-camr.
wow
Best UA-camr ever❤
