Today, May 8, 2022 a young female minister of Finland visited Japan in the Far East for the first time We are deeply grateful, delighted, and moving. Many Japanese deeply love and respect Sibelius and Finland people May Finland be glorious, prosperous, and peaceful From Tokyo where spring is in full bloom
I fully understand that sentiment! However, it would be a little too fine-tuned to play whenever Finland beats us (=Sweden) in ice hockey! Det vackraste som någonsin skrivits av en nordisk kompositör! Jag har förstått texten från en engelsk översättning. Underbart vacker!
Over the years, more than 30 years, i was thinking that this was the hymn of Finland. I learned later then that is was not. But this one i can not forget. It is sitting in my head as beautful this is from Sibelius.
Finnish Composer Jean Sibelius composed Finlandia to Finnish People to give them Gourage to stand against Russias many attempts to take over Finland and destroy its culture and its very rich Language! Finlandia is written in the DNA of every Finnish person! Finlandia has also been suggested by many non-Finnish people as the common anthem of the Whole World!
I cannot believe i've never seen this video before. By far the best cadence and mood in this out of all the performances. People should also listen to Sibelius' "Tuonelan Joutsen", It truly hits my Finnish heart...
Such a beautiful church. I was luck enough to be physically and mentally experience not a big choir like this but a piano session. Wow is the word. Thanks and let there be love and light. God bless. An indian from germany who visited finland. The world is small.
1979, I heard a musical group from Belfast deliver this, "a capella", completely impromptu, during the after-show bash following a performance of a musical group in Shannon, Ireland. I so wish I could remember more of the detail but the delivery of the piece itself remains imprinted on my memory to this day....
Only thing i didn't like was when they sang "kun sä näytit maailmalle että karkoitit orjuuden - when you showed to The world that you chased away The slavery", they go down almost to a whisper, i think that Part should Be sang as loud as possible, as a defience against russian oppression Finland suffered in The 19th century. Otherwise, lovely!
My hope is for Russia and Finland to work, as far as permissible by moral and legal restrictions are working to the contrary, to continue strong bonds of trade, commercial exchange, and some friendship, even during these turbulent times.
The most beautiful and moving piece of music ever.

This should be our national hymn!🙋❤️🌹🇫🇮 Suomi ikuisesti! Finland Forever! In our hearts! Amen!🙏
YESS Sir. It should be. Sibelius and Suomi Finland forever! The amen is in Sibelius's second symphony. At the very end!

my choir sung this to our finnish exchange student at her final concert,, very powerful moment
justice dewees that must have been quite something. It is a powerful song with an emotional tune. I’m not even Finnish, but I can feel the emotion.
@@frankteunissen6118 it is! I think all of us Finnish people shed a tear every time we hear this. ❤️
I'm way past my 30s and a large brute... But would have cried like a baby.
Especially beautiful also when sung.❤

Performed in Temppeliaukio, the architecture alone speaks volumes for a people with a very clear sense of identity. Very moving performance.
コーラスに男声が入った時の広がり、2番に入った時の広がりが、とてもすごい。素晴らしい。
I cannot believe i've never seen this video before.

I agree with you about the pacing and mood. I think the higher pitch also makes it more beautiful.
Bravo from Poland. I was in Finland.

That is a very beautiful name for it indeed. It is a wonderful and deeply moving piece of music, and much loved here in the UK. Best wishes.

Wonderfull song of Sibelius .
Even if you visit that empty church you will ear this music which is into the building .

Voila un hymne extrêmement émouvant.

Magnifique !
Exquisite. I only knew it as an orchestral piece, which can sound bombastic: this, however, I’d incredibly powerful and human.

I have no idea why this is not the Finland National Anthem instead of sharing one with Estonia!
This tune shall be the national anthem of Biafra one day!
As it was before.
Rakastan monenlaista musiikkia, mutta laittakaa tästä paremmaksi. Sori :)
Olet oikeassa.Finlandia hymni on aivan upea.niin kaunis

Aika hidas on tempo, onko jo liian hidas.
Tää on rasistinen kappale. Pitäisi kieltää
