Musically this EP is dope, but I wish the production was tighter like it was on Alien and Obsidian. The drums especially aren't nearly as punchy. No shade to the audio engineer working with them for this EP, but Nolly really spoiled us with those previous two albums.
This is my fave collection of work from them, it just links so much of their discography together it's insane.

Although northlane doesn’t always deliver on my expectations from them, I love that they like to mix things up every release. Afterimage reinvigorated my curiosity and deep down love for Karnivool.
This EP just confirms (to me) that Northlane's just the Linkin Park of metalcore. Their latest sound is very Hybrid Theory/Meteora adjacent I find!
I haven’t thought of that that way! I need to relisten to their stuff so I can hear that better but I agree right off the bat.
Dante grew on me the exact same way. When I first heard it I was like “okay, not bad” but now I absolutely love it.
I just found the band Thornhill because I’m going to a Northlane/invent animate/windwaker/thornhill concert in July and JESUS they pull so much from deftones in their latest music and it’s so interesting. Very muse head voice, great drums, dense guitars. Huge recommend for a new sound!!
Great EP.. never given them a listen since the reactiins to Dante . One of my top 5 finds this year for sure😊

Steve I know you said in Dante "He's asking a lot of his voice and he has do to that live somehow." Go see them, he does it pitch perfect. Marcus is one of the greatest singers of our generation.
This one gives me A Perfect Circle vibe. That is by far not a bad vibe.
