How come my device won’t pop up on the ‘find my laser’ after following all the steps on your video.. No options come up any tips it’s an omtech 60watt CO2 😭

Vision wow brother you're awesome 👌 👏 🙏🙏🙏. I got it running and working fine. My only issue is that i think is reading the cutting space from my other small laser so when i hit frame for some reason is always going all the way to the left top and bottom. So i have to mo e my peace to cut. Im trying to set this bed size I'm working on it now to see if i can find it.

Hi,
I just got an OMTech 100 watt laser and I also have installed the Lightburn Software on my laptop. Do I need to first install the program/drivers supplied with the laser on the thumb drive before connecting to my PC to use the Lightburn Software? Any help will be appreciated as this is all new to me. Thanks!
Yes, you need the driver's first so that the laser will recognize your computer through the USB wire.
Thank you! I have more questions I hope you can answer. I followed your video(excellent) and installed the Lightburn to control the laser via the usb cable. It did everything you showed on your video. After it found my laser, I noticed the dimensions of my cutting area were already filled in with 1000 mm(x axis) and 600 mm(y axis). I made a small circle in the right rear corner and hit start. The laser fired and made a very light circle that ran off of my material. When it finished, it moved to approximately the center of the cutting area. I assumed it would go back to the right rear corner that I selected. Do you think I did something wrong and if so, can I go back and change the settings in Lightburn to correct any possible issues with my original Lightburn setup? I apologize for the long comment and question.

It's possible that your machine has a home preset and when you selected the rear right, maybe you needed to select a different corner?
I haven't played much with the settings since it worked right away, but I did want to change the home to the front left, so I might be making another video shortly to show how to change the program.
I'm not at the computer at the moment, but I think you would clock the wrench icon and then you can adjust the work size and origin.
Let me know if you figure it out.
@@VisionGuy Thank you so much for your help. I am assuming that the x axis is horizontal(left to right) and the y axis is vertical(back to front or top to bottom of the cutting bed area). I do think the wrench icon will be a way to change a setting if needed.

I'll try to help as much as I can.
If you think you made a mistake, you can start by un-installing the software. Click on the windows icon and then type remove and you should be able to click on the control panel to remove the software.
Then once you remove the software, you can follow the video I made to re-install.
If you are still having issues, I can make a video showing how to remove software. Hope this helps
Nice! How do you autofocus from Lightburn?
You don't, the autofocus is done on the machine (if your machine comes with the sensor) otherwise you need to manually lower/raise the laser head
My 30 day free trial ended and I went ahead to purchase the license key, but when I went to install lightburn it said I needed an add dsp support for existing license. Did I have to pay an extra $60 to get the software to work, or did I just wasted $60?
I'm not sure, I didn't get any messages about dsp. Maybe it's something new they're doing now?

What if using a Mac? It won’t open any of the files from the flash drive (other than pdf and word manuals)
You can download the software online then just apply the license key. It should still work
@@VisionGuy not lightburn software -that’s all good and license key is applied. But it won’t find the laser and I cannot open the drivers for the laser from the flash drive on my MacBook
Oh I see. That's odd, I would have thought they would have provided it for both platforms. I'll check my thumb drive, I thought I saw .dmg files on mine. I'll let you know after I check.

What do you mean, exactly? I can help you the best I can if you wrote out what you got so far and what's not working. If you haven't already done so, you would download the Mac software from lightburn website.

Its a good idea not to burn over 70% that way the laser will last longer. Most burns to cut usually won't be over 55 or so depending on wood thickness. Usually 3mm will cut at 20 to 35 on some woods. Just saying.
What about the speed? Mine seems to cut 70% at 20% speed. So it's cutting kinda slow.

I don't think you can. I use the USB wire to move the data and control the machine. Unless thats what you mean?
I have a MAC and when I plug in the thumb drive, I get the folders but when I try and open them, nothing opens. I have had the worst luck with my machine. My bed lowered and bottomed out. It won't go back up. ContactedOMtech. They have been helpful, but when they call me I am still at work even after I have told them not to call until after 5:30. they still call me so I have to wait for another day. I hope tomorrow they will contact me and we can get somethings resolved..
