As I never done this stuff before I found this video very fast to follow. I could go back and figure out most things but still not where to find what speed power is recommended for my laser. Where did you find this information? I have a Sculpfun S9.

@@lightburnsoftware7189 Can you either make a video for actual beginners, going slowly, and making it very clear where you're selecting things in the program? You likely entered a very high speed. For example, if you just copied the number "1500" into your speed value, but you are configured to use mm/second instead of mm/minute, that would be much too fast.
Under the Window Menu in the top tool bar make sure Cut Palette is enabled. If that doesn't do it, then in the same menu click Reset To Default Layout.

It sounds like your laser isnt connected to LightBurn. What laser is it? Does the status say "disconnected" or "ready" in the laser window? If it says disconnected make sure its powered on and connected with USB. Also check that you have the correct COM port selected. If your still having issues contact out team - support@lightburnsoftware.com
Both. It has a powerful library of design and laser tools. If you already are proficient in a different design software you can strictly use LightBurn for laser control.
On the toolbar you should see icons that loosely resemble airplanes. Hover over one with your curser to see the function (ie mirror vertically, mirror horizontally) click the mirror horizontally icon to flip the selected design to the proper orientation.
There is usually one provided by the company that makes your laser. Since LightBurn doesn’t know what type or wattage of laser you have, we can’t provide this.
Minimum speed will be dependent on your laser. A lower powered laser will need to be ran slower than a higher powered laser. The best way to find the correct speed\power combination is to run a material test. We recently did a video on this that you can find here: ua-cam.com/video/pTx0RG_4Wbs/v-deo.html
This means that the job you are trying to run or frame is going out of your printers work area. There is some information on this here along with things to check: forum.lightburnsoftware.com/t/xy-frame-over-size/51470

@@SarahVore-s1p - that has no real effect on how you design in LightBurn - it only affects the machine control side of things, and which options are presented to you. The one you use will be based on the type of laser you have. If you aren’t sure, go to our webpage and click the “Learn More” button and it will walk you through it.
DID EVERYTHING PER YOUR INSTRUCTIONS BUT MY PREVIEW HAS THE NAME ETCHING WAY OUTSIDE THE NAME PARAMETERS BY AT LEAST 5INCHES???!!! , CANT FIGURE IT
ANY SUGGESTIONS PLEASE
You likely entered a very high speed. For example, if you just copied the number "1500" into your speed value, but you are configured to use mm/second instead of mm/minute, that would be much too fast.
I somehow lost my color bar and cNt seem to find it anywhere. any help with that. Thanks
Under the Window Menu in the top tool bar make sure Cut Palette is enabled. If that doesn't do it, then in the same menu click Reset To Default Layout.
help. my screen does not have the window on left side of screen. How do i get it?
Window menu. You can turn on any of the LightBurn windows from there, or click “Reset to Default”.
@@lightburnsoftware7189 thanks
I have the same program but my program can't find that laser any idea what I can do
What laser are you trying to connect?
@@lightburnsoftware7189 I have a 2 IN 1 CNC 3018PRO
Lightburn software license is lifetime or not?
I would like to see a video on setting up an art library in version 1.3
Thank you for the feedback. I have added it to our list!

Looking for a video to set up lightburn with Atezr L2 35W
We don't currently have this unit in but it looks like they have instructions on how to configure it available in their user manual: drive.google.com/file/d/1AhPedY8zHq3EM9fjV2AyhpqgAGx57qtx/view
There is a config file that they have you download and then import.
what kind of mat is that and where did you get it
The material surface came with the Ortur Laser Master 3. It looks like they sell it as a standalone: ortur.net/collections/optional-parts/products/ortur-laser-engraving-platform-1-0
Does this work on Longer 5x Laser Ray5
We have not tested that laser specifically but if it is running GRBL firmware it should be compatible. I would recommend downloading our Trial to confirm before purchasing: lightburnsoftware.com/pages/download-trial
I'm new to LightBurn. I have a ORTUR Laser Master 3 and a Mac. I can't sync with the LM3, it just doesn't show up. Can anyone help with this?
We created a video specifically for the LM3 that covers Mac setup as well. Here is the link: ua-cam.com/video/7Dsnh9A7SFQ/v-deo.htmlsi=l34X68h-huVscSH1&t=317
I have ts3 from two trees. Driver was installed but Lightburn can't see this device.
It looks like the manufacture has a config available for it:
ua-cam.com/video/89t0mdfdPFY/v-deo.html
If you dont have the config file on the memory card I would contact them to get a copy sent over.
Thank you!
Thank you! Very informative!
Hi, I seriously need direction!! New at this. My shift key has stopped working to create perfect circles and squares. I have googled lightburn help as well at other places with no luck. Maybe I'm not wording it correctly. I used to be able to hold the shift key and make perfect circles or squares. Now it doesn't do anything. TIA
I’d recommend just restarting LightBurn, and if that doesn’t work, restarting your computer. If that also fails, please email support@lightburnsoftware.com so we can gather some more info.
When I have a triangle cut, I cannot get it to go to the sizes on the top of the screen in Lightburn, the measurements in the width will be correct but the height it makes it bigger like a square
You probably have the “aspect ratio lock” enabled. Unlock it and you can set width & height without affecting each other.
@@lightburnsoftware7189 hi thanks for your reply. The trouble is I have opened the aspect ratio and put in 150mm width and 35mm height, then I have locked the aspect ratio and when I come to do the cut or the frame, the width is correct, but the height goes literally 3 times the size,
@@ipitombiful you have likely left rotary mode enabled.
@@lightburnsoftware7189 If I have? How do you switch it off?
Thank you,I found it Cheers I have trying for two days much appreciated 🙂
I always struggle to pull the laser menu when it disappears where do we get the menu?
There's a Window menu in LightBurn, and all the various windows are listed there and can be turned on and off from that menu. You can also bring it up by right-clicking any empty part of the toolbar, and the Window menu also has a "Reset to Default" function.
It would have been nice to have this info in the video, I couldn't follow b/c I had no idea where his windows were coming from.@@lightburnsoftware7189
Hi
I have a Gwieke Cloud laser. Just installed V1.7.01 and noticed then when using the material thickness setting ( 17mm minus the material thickness =what I put in) but didn’t work and laser head dropped down. That is the error ( you are using Gwieke Cloud controller, and have your materrial thickness set very close to zero. …) is it possible to help me?
Don’t use 17 minus the material - If you have a GWeike Cloud, LughtBurn knows this and does the 17- part for you. Just enter the material thickness.
@@lightburnsoftware7189 I can’t find material thickness botton, just asked me for distance in move window.
Hi, I have the Sculpfun S30 20w And on lighburn when I have the air on it will stop working when it get to it? can you help me with this please?
Will the machine complete the job if the air is disabled? If so, it is possible that there is a hardware issue. I would contact Sculpfun if that is the case.
This doesn't work with a Creality Falcon (1). Lightburn will not discover the laser and I've been troubleshooting with Creality for 3 weeks now trying to get this going. It looks like Lightburn is not set up for the Falcon correctly. I'm still trying to get it figured out. I WISH it was as easy as plugging it in with a cable!
I would recommend sending an email to support@lightburnsoftware.com so we can properly help you.
Hello can I use this software with a 6090 se King rabbit (2010)

They’re right there in the video description. If you’re on a mobile device you might need to click the “more” tag to see the full description.
Can someone help me? I have Auferro Laser 1. I tried engraving a circle, but it has sides and crooked. The material is well placed and taped down so it won't move. But the laser engrave is crooked, even the fonts. Thank you
There could be a number of causes for this from hardware related things to settings set in LightBurn. I would start by taking a photo of the results you are getting and send the settings you are using to our team - support@lightburnsoftware.com
excellent video - super helpful
Hi there, absolute new user here. I've followed everything you've said however when I go to click on the "Frame" button nothing happens? So I've tried clicking on the "Play" button and all I get is a message saying "There was a problem sending data to the laser. The machine may be busy or paused."Please Help :)
So is light burn design software or laser interface software?
Both. It has a powerful library of design and laser tools. If you already are proficient in a different design software you can strictly use LightBurn for laser control.
@@lightburnsoftware7189 awsome. Ty for the reply. I'm going to upgrade my motherboard and start using this software.
When I upload a file it’s backwards how do I flip it. Please help lost
On the toolbar you should see icons that loosely resemble airplanes. Hover over one with your curser to see the function (ie mirror vertically, mirror horizontally) click the mirror horizontally icon to flip the selected design to the proper orientation.
Where can I find the recommended settings for various materials page you referenced?
There is usually one provided by the company that makes your laser. Since LightBurn doesn’t know what type or wattage of laser you have, we can’t provide this.
what is the min speed for this?
Minimum speed will be dependent on your laser. A lower powered laser will need to be ran slower than a higher powered laser. The best way to find the correct speed\power combination is to run a material test.
We recently did a video on this that you can find here:
ua-cam.com/video/pTx0RG_4Wbs/v-deo.html
X frame oversized what does that mean
This means that the job you are trying to run or frame is going out of your printers work area. There is some information on this here along with things to check: forum.lightburnsoftware.com/t/xy-frame-over-size/51470
Can anyone help me connect Laserburn to my A5 Pro laser machine?
For help, email support@lightburnsoftware.com - there’s no way for us to send screen shots or get them from you here in a UA-cam comment.
I have CloudRay laser and it is not detected when I use "Find My Laser" even when connected, I've tried to search how to connect but cannot find or do anything.
What type of laser is it? Are you using the Trial or a purchased license? If on windows did you install the needed driver? If you are still having issues reach out to our support team - support@lightburnsoftware.com
you should have shown how to get the proper settings first with a test matrix for etching and cutting
We have a whole other video for that, and we try to keep these relatively short.
ua-cam.com/video/pTx0RG_4Wbs/v-deo.html
well this is a good start, within 30 seconds it says 'use find my laser' without showing you how to do that. not a good start tbh
I am not sure what you mean? It shows the laser being plugged in and Find My Laser being selected. That is how you use Find My Laser. As long as you have any needed drivers installed it guides you through the setup process.
Is this ModBot talking? Lol tripping me out. And can i set this up without a laser? I just want to use it for generating images to go to a different software for my plasma table.
Haha yes it is :). You can use it without a laser. You will just need to create a "dummy" profile but it doesn't require a laser to be connected to use it for design work like your describing.
You mention that we should always use preview but you do not tell us how?
At 3:05 it shows the preview button and shortcut.
@@lightburnsoftware7189 I apologize. I totally missed that!...Thank you.

NO TENGO NI DEA COMO FUNCIONA ESTO
This looks super complicated though,I think I need something more basic for a person who doesn't know that much about computers..
I want to do 3 maybe 4 things
Thick hardwood 1"
Signs... Animal/cars/logo art... and realistic photo burning from pictures
Being familiar with computers will be very helpful. That being said you can start with some simple projects and work your way up.
The videos and documentation will give you a good starting point but playing around with the software yourself will be invaluable. If you have not already, I would recommend joining out community forum:
forum.lightburnsoftware.com/
Wow, nothing like someone explaining how to use something and not telling you how to use it? You just blew over all the things you said. You did not show where any of it was for the most part. How do you set zero, is it up front left etc. These are the things we expected to find in a FIRST video!
The goal of this video was to show the process of going start to finish on a simple project so that the viewer can quickly have a win. Instead of having longer videos that may be intimidating, we are making shorter concise videos covering specific tools and features.
mm meen nothing helpful to a lot of peple inch would work better so tell how to make it that and how to make the app symbols biger so we know what we are puching. there now way to see any thing on this app now that helpfull
.75 playback speed vs micromachine man.
New to this, love how fast the narrator goes 😞 No pauses to see what's going on, had to pause and rewind so much that it now annoying, plus the screen they show is out of focus.
He goes too damn fast...geezzz
.75x speed
For beginners you go way to fast.
Its a balancing act between to fast and to slow. The video can be slowed down in the player or watched a few times to catch anything that was missed.
Yes, I figured that out thank you
You talk way too fast. Not happy with this video
Can you speak any quicker?
If you are following along you will need to pause or rewatch even if it is slowed down.
