I thought the video was getting too long, so I had to trim a short part. But I DID watch the whole thing; I just trimmed it during editing. Thanks for a great reaction! Toumas the keyboardist writes most of Nightwish's music. His nickname is "Metal Mozart". You will find that every Nightwish song has a different feel and style in both text and music. So more Nightwish please! Excellent reaction and commentary. Floor's range is D3-F6 so that Ab6 was a piece of cake for her. I have listened to all her songs and have yet to hear a sour note. She's always pitch perfect. As for her breath control, Floor has what most female singers can only dream about. She's a little over 6' tall, has a big mouth and the lungs of a deep sea diver. I have yet to find a female singer that has a voice that is as versatile, powerful or pure as hers. She covers all the styles plus some growling thrown in. I absolutely love Floor. She is my fav and my wife's fave. But she DOES sign off-key. There was a concert in Germany where it was 105F and she was in her leather costume. She was pretty rough. What I want to know is... how did she sing at all?? She's a goddess.

You could watch Floor react, not long ago, to her own singing on "Ghost Love Score" Wacken 2013, this very same performance. She said it was important and difficult not to get carried away from the get-go. This is her favorite song to sing and to have the chance to do it in front of an enthusiastic crowd of 82k people, you have to stay focused not to overdo it from the beginning. Leave some ammunition towards the end of the song.
Wow! This is, probably, the best reaction to Ghost Love Score that I've seen (and I've seen a lot of them)! Hope you will continue reacting to Nightwish. Yay! That was one thing that fascinated my son and I (both classically trained singers) - watching her stomach breathing - and people thought we were weird :)
When this was recorded Floor had been the replacement singer of Nightwish för just about 10 months. She did her first show in Seattle Wa on Oct 1st 2012 after the band fired Anette, their second singer. This was recorded Aug.3rd 2013. This song wasn't on the set list for the tour originally since Anette didn't have the vocal ability to perform it. But Floor had heard the song when her first band After Forever" toured with Nightwish when Tarja, their first singer, was still in the band, and she loved it. So Floor asked Tuomas (the guy behind the keyboards) if they could make it a part of the set list. And they did. There's som minor variations in the backing between Floors and Tarjas version, mainly that the choir have been reduced in volume. There's a video on youtube from, I think, Argentina, recorded Dec15th 2012. And there's one of Tarja doing it too. If you listen to the orchestral interlude there's a theme being repeated 4 times, by four different instruments/ groups of instrument. First the basses, then the clarinets/oboes, then by the bassoons and lastly by the flutes. That theme is later repeated by the band. Typical Tuomas. He gives you something you might not even notice, and when he later repeats it it sounds familiar to you.

Floor Jansen is the third and present singer of Nightwish and considered the best and most versatile female singer of our time. As I am a Flooraholic from Utrecht, The Netherlands, here is some background information on our Dutch Valkyrie Queen. She joined the band 'After Forever' in 1997 at the age of 16. My favourite song is 'Energize Me'. They made a very beautiful music video out of this. 'After Forever' disbanded in 2009 and Floor started her own band 'Revamp' from scratch. Here she experimented with different vocal styles within one song, such as from full operatic to serious growls in seconds. The songs 'Disdain' and 'Wild Card' are good examples. September 2012 came the call from Nightwish to fill in for the remainder of the American Tour as their second singer Annette got ill. Floor had just 48 hours to learn the whole setlist. There is a documentary made of this world tour ('Please learn the setlist in 48 hours'). The lyrics of the songs of Nightwish are very poetic and the music as a whole is challenging, but Floor pulled it off and she stayed for the whole world tour, culminating in this iconic Wacken 2013 Open Air festival. It was obvious that the combination Nightwish and Floor Jansen was made in Walhalla, so she became a permanent member of the band in 2013 as the relationship with Annette and the band was strained even before she became ill. Floor continued to perform with 'Revamp' for a couple of years, but it became clear that she could not combine the two for much longer, so Revamp disbanded in 2016. Floor did a side project called 'Northward' where she dived into the Hard Rock scene. The song 'While Love Died' is a must see. Her stunning performances on the Dutch TV show 'Beste Zangers 2019' gave her at last some more recognition in her home country where she was relatively unknown until then. There are numerous guest appearances with other bands to find on UA-cam. To see how to get a crowd of metalheads silenced and in awe, watch her featuring with the band 'Epica' and the song 'Stabat Mater Dolorosa'. And to see her in full opera mode watch her rendition of 'O Mio Babbino Caro' from Puccini. As live concerts were cancelled and home isolation due to the Covid situation, Floor discovered UA-cam in the last year and uploaded many interesting videos on her channel. Mindblowing covers, chats with her idols and other singers, vocal masterclasses and so much more. She even made a video reacting to herself performing this song at Wacken. Lots of technical info and some memories of her starting with Nightwish. Also her 'Fan Friday' videos are hilarious. Just unpack some of the presents she left there. Floorgasm alert! Interesting that you compared Floor and Dimash. Floor is actually the only singer I dare to compare with Dimash. Very different singers, Dimash has this crazy range as well as flawless singing technique, while Floor is the mistress of expressing emotions. Which does not mean that to me, Dimash would sing without emotions, or that Floor would have flaws in her technique. It is just where those two excel above all other singers that I know,so I think comparing them on an overall quality level seems legit. This is of course personal taste, and tastes differ.
I have to say, Floors technique is always flawless. She also has crazy range. This song does not come close to the top of her range, or the bottom. Nor to the amount of distortion or grit she can use. There is a video you can check now of Floor singing a pure aria from a Puccini opera. So you can observe her mastery of classical singing. She can also belt like a goddess, and you can really check that out in the greatest show on earth, speak sing, growl. I have heard so much variety from her, and it always sounds amazing.

That is why this is my favorite NW song -- the variance and the tie-backs all within one 'score' is simply masterful and "genius" music making. The fact that Floor is off the charts insane as an accompaniment to the score throughout is simply breath taking.

This is Symphonic Metal - the merge of symphony and metal music, often composed in chapters - and in this case, done by the absolute top in the genre - Nightwish. Some fun facts: In this song, you might have experienced maybe 10 - 12% of Nightwish's and Floor's capabilities.. The ending - this is Floor's version - not the original.. Floor develope her own voice techniques - she has graduated in the Dutch Rock Academy plus 1 year of Musical and 1 year of Classical, 6 years in all - and from there she started developing and training her voice, muscles and body into the perfect singing voice acrobat, she is. She has a unique ability to transfer herself into the song - she becomes the soul, emotions and passions of the song - illustrated in her voice coloring, body and everything else - she is the perfect storyteller - always doing her own interpretation of the song.. Imagine being Tuomas - the composer and genius songwriter - having a resource as Floor - Toumas have literally no limits or boundaries in his writings and creativity - Floor can do more than he can imagine (and she does - she proves it again and again). With your insight in music, you will really enjoy diving into the Nightwish Universe - this is the next level of music. You will realize this later on in your journey. I do apologize for skipping a part in the video. I thought the video was getting too long, so I had to trim a short part. But I DID watch the whole thing; I just trimmed it during editing. I assumed it would be okay since I'm pretty sure you guys have seen and enjoyed this performance countless times already, and that I really didn't have anything to say in that section. But rest assured I watched the whole thing and enjoyed every second of it.

Toumas the keyboardist writes most of Nightwish's music. His nickname is "Metal Mozart". You will find that every Nightwish song has a different feel and style in both text and music. So more Nightwish please! There are longer ones than Ghost Love Score and shorter rockier ones and everything in-between!

Excellent reaction and commentary. Floor's range is D3-F6 so that Ab6 was a piece of cake for her. I have listened to all her songs and have yet to hear a sour note. She's always pitch perfect. As for her breath control, Floor has what most female singers can only dream about. She's a little over 6' tall, has a big mouth and the lungs of a deep sea diver. I have yet to find a female singer that has a voice that is as versatile, powerful or pure as hers. She covers all the styles plus some growling thrown in. You could watch Floor react, not long ago, to her own singing on "Ghost Love Score" Wacken 2013, this very same performance. She said it was important and difficult not to get carried away from the get-go. This is her favorite song to sing and to have the chance to do it in front of an enthusiastic crowd of 82k people, you have to stay focused not to overdo it from the beginning. Leave some ammunition towards the end of the song.

Wow! This is, probably, the best reaction to Ghost Love Score that I've seen (and I've seen a lot of them)! Hope you will continue reacting to Nightwish. Yay! That was one thing that fascinated my son and I (both classically trained singers) - watching her stomach breathing - and people thought we were weird :)
When this was recorded Floor had been the replacement singer of Nightwish för just about 10 months. She did her first show in Seattle Wa on Oct 1st 2012 after the band fired Anette, their second singer. This was recorded Aug.3rd 2013.
This song wasn't on the set list for the tour originally since Anette didn't have the vocal ability to perform it. But Floor had heard the song when her first band After Forever" toured with Nightwish when Tarja, their first singer, was still in the band, and she loved it. So Floor asked Tuomas (the guy behind the keyboards) if they could make it a part of the set list. And they did. There's som minor variations in the backing between Floors and Tarjas version, mainly that the choir have been reduced in volume. There's a video on youtube from, I think, Argentina, recorded Dec15th 2012. And there's one of Tarja doing it too. If you listen to the orchestral interlude there's a theme being repeated 4 times, by four different instruments/ groups of instrument. First the basses, then the clarinets/oboes, then by the bassoons and lastly by the flutes. That theme is later repeated by the band. Typical Tuomas. He gives you something you might not even notice, and when he later repeats it it sounds familiar to you.

Floor Jansen is the third and present singer of Nightwish and considered the best and most versatile female singer of our time. As I am a Flooraholic from Utrecht, The Netherlands, here is some background information on our Dutch Valkyrie Queen. She joined the band 'After Forever' in 1997 at the age of 16. My favourite song is 'Energize Me'. They made a very beautiful music video out of this. 'After Forever' disbanded in 2009 and Floor started her own band 'Revamp' from scratch. Here she experimented with different vocal styles within one song, such as from full operatic to serious growls in seconds. The songs 'Disdain' and 'Wild Card' are good examples. September 2012 came the call from Nightwish to fill in for the remainder of the American Tour as their second singer Annette got ill. Floor had just 48 hours to learn the whole setlist. There is a documentary made of this world tour ('Please learn the setlist in 48 hours'). The lyrics of the songs of Nightwish are very poetic and the music as a whole is challenging, but Floor pulled it off and she stayed for the whole world tour, culminating in this iconic Wacken 2013 Open Air festival. It was obvious that the combination Nightwish and Floor Jansen was made in Walhalla, so she became a permanent member of the band in 2013 as the relationship with Annette and the band was strained even before she became ill. Floor continued to perform with 'Revamp' for a couple of years, but it became clear that she could not combine the two for much longer, so Revamp disbanded in 2016. Floor did a side project called 'Northward' where she dived into the Hard Rock scene. The song 'While Love Died' is a must see. Her stunning performances on the Dutch TV show 'Beste Zangers 2019' gave her at last some more recognition in her home country where she was relatively unknown until then. There are numerous guest appearances with other bands to find on UA-cam. To see how to get a crowd of metalheads silenced and in awe, watch her featuring with the band 'Epica' and the song 'Stabat Mater Dolorosa'. And to see her in full opera mode watch her rendition of 'O Mio Babbino Caro' from Puccini. As live concerts were cancelled and home isolation due to the Covid situation, Floor discovered UA-cam in the last year and uploaded many interesting videos on her channel. Mindblowing covers, chats with her idols and other singers, vocal masterclasses and so much more. She even made a video reacting to herself performing this song at Wacken. Lots of technical info and some memories of her starting with Nightwish. Also her 'Fan Friday' videos are hilarious. Just unpack some of the presents she left there. Floorgasm alert! Floor is a high sensitive person, so peace and quiet is as important for her. Living by the woods in Sweden with her husband Hannes Van Dahl (drummer of the band 'Sabaton'); daughter Freja (just turned 4 years); a horse and pony; a dog and 3 cats, she found this.

Interesting that you compared Floor and Dimash.
Floor is actually the only singer I dare to compare with Dimash. Very different singers, Dimash has this crazy range as well as flawless singing technique, while Floor is the mistress of expressing emotions. Which does not mean that to me, Dimash would sing without emotions, or that Floor would have flaws in her technique. It is just where those two excel above all other singers that I know,so I think comparing them on an overall quality level seems legit.
This is of course personal taste, and tastes differ.
It would be interesting to have Floor and Dimash do a duet.
I have to say, Floors technique is always flawless. She also has crazy range. This song does not come close to the top of her range, or the bottom. Nor to the amount of distortion or grit she can use. There is a video you can check now of Floor singing a pure aria from a Puccini opera. So you can observe her mastery of classical singing. She can also belt like a goddess, and you can really check that out in the greatest show on earth, speak sing, growl. I have heard so much variety from her, and it always sounds amazing.

Floor is not human, she can sing however she chooses and can seamlessly change mid-word even. If you are looking for a person whom has perfected her instrument, you have found her. Nightwish's founder/keyboardist/composer is a genius and they do not make bad music, and no 2 songs are the same. Every person on that stage is top of their game. That is why this is my favorite NW song -- the variance and the tie-backs all within one 'score' is simply masterful and "genius" music making. The fact that Floor is off the charts insane as an accompaniment to the score throughout is simply breath taking.

Floor the lead singer is a 6’1” Dutch vocal beast and has had some classical training.
Nightwish are definitely a band that should be reacted to live,the studio stuff is great,but live...they’re exceptional.Their music ranges from Rock,Thrash,Folk,Celtic to name a few,and Floor goes from Opera through to full on screaming and growling and any other style that’s needed.

Then Wembley and Tampere - which starts a new era in Nightwish, focusing on the evolution of the Earth, humans vs technology vs nature - and the ending of the album Endless forms most beautiful (Wembley & Tampere) - leads directly into the Human Nature album from 2020.
The album in between is a kind of time machine, which really shows the evolution Nightwish went into, when Floor and Troy became permanent members in 2013 - it contains incredible versions from the whole Nightwish library - Floor demonstrates why she is the greatest front woman in this century - her crowd control, or rather dialog with the audience, is something you must experience.
Again - a big welcome to the Nightwish Universe - you will absolutely loose your heart to this magical universe of music.

14:16 the music collapses on it self then at 14:19 floor begins to ascend the scale hovering at a note before each ascent till she belts out on top
