More people need to push for online gambling in video games like the sand casino (and RS3's treasure hunter) to be heavily regulated or banned by the UK government. The way it is right now, Jagex and similar companies are taking money from the young and vulnerable to feed not just themselves but immoral, sociopathic criminals too. Wouldn't surprise me if organized crime rings had a major stake in things like the Duel Arena too.
If you really want to make a change, contact the UK Gambling Commission and inform them of what's really going on in the underground market of OSRS. Don't hide any secrets from them. Maybe start a petition, or boost other petitions against this kind of gambling. Talk to your local MPs about this. The only way to stop this is to make it illegal. Jagex has absolutely zero financial incentive to stop what's happening in the Duel arena, or to stop their predatory MTX behaviors on RS3.

I recently started an ironman account to avoid everything mentioned in this video and it's given me a new lease on life as far as playing RuneScape goes. The feeling can only be compared to when I first made my account in 2007 and got to experience the game for the first time again. I'd highly recommend trying ironman mode if you're reading this. Yes it's slow and tedious but it makes you learn more about the game and enjoy it much deeper. Look up Oziris Ironman guide.

I think jagex should scrap all updates for the next year and resolve botting, toxicity and account security. I hope everyone would be happy with that. Also, remove the sand casino as staking is nothing but RWT as clearly proven, this type of addiction is not healthy for the game nor people IRL.
I mean it makes sense. No one is working in a tech company without being somewhat tech savvy. Everyone would know that if you were to abuse mod privilages, it could easily be electronically traced back to the account causing the abuse. Hence, if you wanted to abuse mod privilages, you wouldn't use your own account. Also, if it became wide spread news that mods were abusing their position, jagex would most likely lose consumer trust, and so their stock would fall. It benefits jagex immensely to point a finger at the obvious culprit (scapegoat), than spend months trying to find the actual "criminal", if it would even be possible to find them. Resources, time, and not a guaranteed positive outcome? Or pointing the finger, firing an employee, and moving on. I'm not trying to determine what's true or false, merely pointing out that it could be reasonable that the employee was framed.

I always thought the most baffling thing was when they put every effort into removing dicer, flower gamers, and the horse gambling games, they even added a line to the horses saying “say neigh to gambling” yet the biggest gambling area in the game is still a thing.

The building friendships and scamming people for money was extremely common back in the day, i... know people, who made literal clans of people to PK with and then eventually took everything from them. My first experience was as a level 10 going up to level 3 players asking them to help me with a quest just to take them to the witch's house , getting them to go inside and spam close the door on them, not for anything useful since they just came from tutorial island, but just the rush of knowing that you outsmarted someone and I honestly think thats a big reason why a lot of these things are even worse than they are, its not always for RWT

While I agree the game has serious fundamental issues, the DA being a massive one, I run a small PvM Clan and I have to say there is a massive bright side to the game. We have a great group of 100-200 players who genuinely enjoy the game and playing together.
This also is a good representation of how the real world is like.. Since there are alot of players on runescape, you could estimate 30-40k id say? Which scientifically spoken is a good sample of the opinion of the people, so basically runescape is a confirmation of the fact that the real world is also as corrupt as the runescape world is... And with groups of scammers, botters, rigged gambling services, lurers etc.... Its safe to say that the real world is basically nothing better... Great video man! Gave me some good insights in what i already know, there are so many sides to this game.. The corruption goes deep :/ Keep on doing the good work, and hopefully those threats are all empty, since there is money involved in it, although i dont know if it would stop this information from spreadying since already 86k people seen this video

autocasters were a thing back in RSC too in the early 2000's. people used to use them for mage stakes at the mage wall in draynor, would autocast whatever spells you want at a speed no human could ever achieve
I grew so sick of these people that ive played the game with "entity hider" on the RuneLite client and only shown my friends and clanmates characters. Also i play on an ironman. At first it was kinda lonely, but the Norwegian clanchat is super friendly and many of us have met IRL and still do after becoming friends through the CC.

I was active in a perfectly healthy and positive clan, am more recently in an iron cc as the community of the game has slid downhill so drastically in recent years. Imagine being framed in a game. This world is F'ed up. it makes a game look like a super life ending thing
I mean it makes sense. No one is working in a tech company without being somewhat tech savvy. Everyone would know that if you were to abuse mod privilages, it could easily be electronically traced back to the account causing the abuse. Hence, if you wanted to abuse mod privilages, you wouldn't use your own account. Also, if it became wide spread news that mods were abusing their position, jagex would most likely lose consumer trust, and so their stock would fall. It benefits jagex immensely to point a finger at the obvious culprit (scapegoat), than spend months trying to find the actual "criminal", if it would even be possible to find them. Resources, time, and not a guaranteed positive outcome? Or pointing the finger, firing an employee, and moving on.
I'm not trying to determine what's true or false, merely pointing out that it could be reasonable that the employee was framed.

If staking was removed I’d probably come back to the game, it is my own decision to go to the sand casino but for someone with my mentally growing up playing this game it’s ruined my experience since I hit max Meele stats

The building friendships and scamming people for money was extremely common back in the day, i... know people, who made literal clans of people to PK with and then eventually took everything from them.
My first experience was as a level 10 going up to level 3 players asking them to help me with a quest just to take them to the witch's house , getting them to go inside and spam close the door on them, not for anything useful since they just came from tutorial island, but just the rush of knowing that you outsmarted someone and I honestly think thats a big reason why a lot of these things are even worse than they are, its not always for RWT

It's a genuinely amazing tool for modding, but it makes Java games the most insecure thing on the planet in terms of what information you can extract from them undetectably.
While I agree the game has serious fundamental issues, the DA being a massive one, I run a small PvM Clan and I have to say there is a massive bright side to the game. We have a great group of 100-200 players who genuinely enjoy the game and playing together.
This also is a good representation of how the real world is like.. Since there are alot of players on runescape, you could estimate 30-40k id say? Which scientifically spoken is a good sample of the opinion of the people, so basically runescape is a confirmation of the fact that the real world is also as corrupt as the runescape world is... And with groups of scammers, botters, rigged gambling services, lurers etc.... Its safe to say that the real world is basically nothing better...

I also recommend appealing to discord as in the past I’ve seen them responsive to claims I’ve had against offensive people or hate groups. It's not in Jagex's best interest to do anything unfortunately. The thousands of bots that are members is all revenue, whether they're buying bonds or a monthly subscription. It's all putting money in Jagex's pocket.
autocasters were a thing back in RSC too in the early 2000's. people used to use them for mage stakes at the mage wall in draynor, would autocast whatever spells you want at a speed no human could ever achieve

At first it was kinda lonely, but the Norwegian clanchat is super friendly and many of us have met IRL and still do after becoming friends through the CC.

It used to be a Chinese company but people forget or don't know that Jagex was bought earlier this year on 4/28/20 for $530m by a private company called Macarthur Fortune Holding LLC. What is even known about that company? They were founded this same year on 2/19/20, just 2 months before they bought Jagex. Something doesn't feel right to me, like they're exploiting the game's underground market for profit. It just doesn't make sense for the oldschool team to not have been able to stop all the botting and rwt going on.

Thanks KempQ, I have played this game for 17 years on and off, currently off. I used to create content. I used to PK. I was active in a perfectly healthy and positive clan, am more recently in an iron cc as the community of the game has slid downhill so drastically in recent years.
Watching this alone, along with your other follow up videos have provided me the freedom from ever engaging with OSRS again any time soon. I was naive to the abhorrent wages at Jagex. I knew the duel arena was toxic, and have always misunderstood why it is even still in the game, but the scale of this is unfathomable.
