@@andresmartinezramos7513 Actually, back in 2018, Aonuma did an interview with IGN where he said, “It was originally our intention to portray the Gerudo race as a community of sapphic women in [Breath of the Wild]. As such, we hope it came across that way.” You can trust me completely I would never lie to you.
a lesbian’s dream honestly. hot women? hell yeah. not good for reproduction, but if i was in an apocalyptic scenario, im there for a good time not a long time
To be fair, most of these towns have already survived an apocalypse. The Great Calamity. And this is with Link sleeping in stasis for a 100 years. Even Impa and a few other characters said that Hetanio Village was one of the few hylian villages that did indeed survive.
Another point to the gerudo- there are hylian men already outside the walls and in the bazaar trying to get in. Maybe not the Best companions, but far easier than traveling across hyrule.
I'm not even sure if the Gorons would notice the apocalypse. In BotW they didn't seem to mind that a Talus was like 10 feet outside their mining camp so they're probably chill with all of them, and the smaller mooks probably aren't a real concern for the adults. I don't remember any Lionels being up there so the Gorons would probably maintain completely free travel across the entire mountain
I feel like no sunlight to grow plants is something that will put all the villages at heavy risk of starvation, and random monsters with no leaders feels like a relatively small issue in comparison. Because of this, I think the Gorons take it for me.
Yeah. Monsters without proper leaders (Boss Bokoblins hardly count when it comes to assaulting a settlement) are already outside most of the settlements anyways and don't seem to attack their settlements ever.
What towns would survive the apocalypse? Well... Literally all of them. We know this because all of these towns existed in Breath of the Wild, a post-apocalyptic world (except Tarry Town).
you're right but, well... all except for Terry Town and Lookout Landing :) Those two came only after the apocalypse and while lookout landing would probably be able to survive, Terry town much likely won't
It was less of an apocalypse and more of a 1 time invasion, the monsters did their thing, Hyrule castle was wrecked, and things more of less went back to normal survival-wise, no more difficult to live in the after than the before.
I love that you gave Lurelin a fighting chance for the video. I feel like the fact that when you get there the people have been scattered to other villages and the town is overtaken with monsters says all we need to know about their survival rate 😂
I was going to say Rito Village, but you convinced me Gerudo Town is better equipped. Snoo-snoo plot twist makes total sense. Also love how you speculated about how the Koroks consume both food and photosynthetic nutrition. Since they are evolved from the Kokiri, they may have retained the mostly useless trait of being able to eat food.
"Link 100 percented the game up until the Ganondorf fight, then got to the edge of The Depths annnnnd........had a heart attack" I laughed alot harder than I probably should've at that scenario 🤣🤣🤣

Quite the culture-shock for all involved
I would probably be a little harsher on Lookout Landing simply for the fact that it is out in the open, it can literally be attacked from all sides. There's a reason many bastions are built towards a mountainside.

I’m not allowed to bunker in Gerudo Town but I’d have to pick Rito bc personal biases or Kakariko bc it actually seems pretty peaceful, apocalypse aside. Also I’d love to see what new survival inventions the Sheikah and Zonai Researchers come up with
You put a lot of thought into this, great job. There's a few things I disagree with and certain things are probably not seen in-game but do exist(like the stables have more than two horses, that's how Link can retrieve them) but all-in-all I think your analysis makes sense. Even without breaking it down in such detail, the Sheikah and Gerudo naturally seem like they're the most resourceful and the Gorons are the toughest, so it makes sense that they would have the easiest time surviving in this scenario.
You could have given the Gerudo 5 stars for skills because they live hundreds of years and age slow, maybe 4½ if survival across generations is essential.
I would argue rito is the best since most of the weakneses are either not really a problem or are completely nullified by the fact they are exelent marksmen and can fly, for example if they really need food they can just fly down to the lake which has a protected shore or the fact that the flying monsters could just be shot out of the air easilly.
It's videos like this that remind me that the World building in the newest Zelda games is so amazing and grounded these villages have you know their flair it is a fantasy game but all of these are livable spaces for the peoples of Hyrule there is a lived in history here that I don't think has been matched since the earliest Zelda games

The Gerudo were arguably impacted the worst by the Upheaval yet were still able to live with relative comfort underground. Meanwhile you have Lurelin Village that was annihilated by monsters with much weaker defenses than the Gibdos. On a side note, I also kept saying Jerudo until Urbosa in Breath of the Wild confirmed the actual pronounciation. I just thought it sounded so much cooler at the time.
Y'know, I don't know why I haven't questioned this until now, but when you brought up the point I've heard so often that only one male Gerudo is born every century, it made me wonder what those male Gerudo are like outside of Ganondorf. I mean, the franchise only ever bothers to show us that male Gerudo when he manifests as Lucifer on Earth, but there have been a lot more centuries with the Gerudo than there have been Ganondorfs, so I want to know what they're like on average.
Super late tot he video we love that. Another thing for the Goron Village is Trade. Which would massively help them in the food category too. And while the other villages would need to figure something out and initiate some form of training to get people strong enough to go on these trade missions. The Goron women would be the first and maybe the easiest when it comes to visiting other places for the good old bartering of goods and "services" With opening trade in mind being a necessity as already pointed out by the Plot Twist. I'd say it should also boost up numbers for Food and supplies since they are all strong fighters and actively are able to teach others. Goron Village would be forced to open itself up to men at some point purely to keep it going, but I highly doubt they would let them be anything more than pets essentially... And I know a few guys who would not mind this.
So just a correction at 5:47, I don't believe zonaite can be found here. Surprised no mention of the Yiga clan's connection to ganon and the apocalypse. Granted it's implied that ganon barely tolerates them and may not even acknowledge their existence, but i expected it to at least get a mention.
0:24 Well, yes. They CAN survive without the Hero of Time. After all, THAT hero has been dead for millennia. The question is whether they can survive without the Hero of the Wild.
Something to think about with the koroks is most people can't see them. Link they were surprised that Link could. So any monsters around probably wouldn't see them
I'd argue we could give the ritos a perfect score: First of all, shelter, As you pointed out, there are flying monsters, But they are flying monsters that are auper weak, they die in one arrow hit (i literally don't remember needing two to kill one), They only tend to carry lizalfos and bokoblins, and they aren't good shooters, On the other hand, Ritos are shown to be very good shooters, just have ritos guarding around tbe village 24/7 and no aerocudas will get pass (it's also not so fair you used the argument of aerocudas for only two villages and forgot to for the rest) Second: food, Come on, this are birds, birds eat fish, and they have a huge ass lake below them, On top of that foraging isn't difficult, If a monster approaches, just fly away, Im sure they could cover themselves more for food, The why the adults are out of town (and im sure will either come back or be prepared, as im about to explain) is because of the blizzard, This could be cause because of A) the wind temple or B) seasons In scenario A, you already said that Link took care of everything so the village is in the perfect state, That would've cause the blizzard to ease, and the adults would be back In scenario B, im sure it's something they do every year, and the mother saying "i wish we had more food", yeah, you always need more food, it's not that you need them, So they are used to gather lots of food for the winter, and im sure they could do it for longer if you invent delicious aerocuda soup! For supplies, yeah, four just seems low, They have a lot of building materials on top of what they could forage, They freaking fly remember? Building could also be good, and almost every adult carries a weapon and is prepared for fighting And about skills... I can't defend that too much tbh, I could argue that they could spy monster settlements or more faraway villages, but that's not in the picture for all I know, But what more skills do you need for a survival situation? You're also not very consistent with what you consider as skills, so that 4 is quite debatable if you were to ask me
I feel like the Gerudos could make up for the food and baby issues by sending out bands of warriors to defend settlements and teach fighting in exchange for food. And while they are out there, hopefully take care of the other thing as well Edit: okay yeah, she basically said this exact same thing at the end of the video
One thing I’m fairly sure would happen, is that the Monster Patrol Squad, also known as (to me) The Hyrule Militia would help out greatly in defending the towns, after all, if Monsters became a much, much larger issue, and a Blood Moon daily, most of the outskirts infrastructure aka the Stables wouldn’t be able to function, cus Monsters would be out of control. So THM would likely rescue some people and direct/escort them to towns and or other Hyrule people hold outs. And they would after most of the rescues, they’d probably realize they would need to protect the less defended towns, or hell, abandon a few to make a larger more defendable town, *cough* not terry town *cough*
Personally I would chose Goron City. The climate is good enough that animals can live there, so hunting would actually be a good food source, especially if we can domesticate some of them.
21:12 Technically, you could have the first guy make children with just a few different females, and then the second generation's males make children with the town's remaining women, and so on? Which dilutes the gene pool a bit more than direct half-siblings at least.
19:57 that not zonite that's luminous stone, zonite only can be found in the depths and the great sky island. also the fact that zonite can only be found those places meaning they can't use dispensers meaning they can't use zonite device. also they need energy cell like the one link have to use some of the devices because link died in the depths they can't get it, so the only way they can use the devices is battery's and big battery's witch are only in the dispensers. so they can't use zonite devices at all except of the yiga. Edit: sorry i haven't played TOTK for a while now i forgot it's Zoni charges not zonite for the dispensers but still they have it fight to get those charges.
THAT FLUTE, LOL Also I may be missing something, but doesn't an apocalypse that prevents plants from growing wipe out every species except the Gorons? If you can't grow crops, and you can't grow plants to feed your animals, how does any village last beyond a year or two?
I mix the game logic and real-world logic a bit here, but the blood moon mechanic refreshes any food item that you can forage, so I count those as being replenishable, but you can't go up and grab the food grown in the fields, so those wouldn't be reset with the blood moon and would die like real-world crops would. But you could theoretically feed animals any replenishables, like apples, fish, or mushrooms.
You know, when I make my own video, I'm going to add how likely the village is going to have a radio stations that plays a crapton of 50s and 60s music. Except that I won't make a Zelda video, since I don't particularly have anything to add.
While Tarry Town is not protected nor prepared, I'd say it will survive against all odds because it seems implied that this place is blessed, it doesn't rain there, there's no distress and it's a place of people from all around the world accomplishing dreams and living it peace And I mean, they have a monster camp near the entrance yet they have not been attacked despite how easy that would be
1:15 Wouldn't he still be dehydrated? He doesn't rehydrate himself until you meet him. Food usually doesn't spoil in Zelda. I think I had heard people say Jerudo before but not Mahora. Fi is also pronounced Figh not Fee. That triggers me since so many people do that. I heard someone pronounce Niko as Nighko. I'm pretty sure it's Neeko. Well I used to pronounce Epona's name as Espona. Not sure why I thought it had an "s". The Koroks evolved from Kokiri and one from Wind Waker mentioned making medicine for Koroks which I assume are consumed since the one he makes for you is. Monsters carry monsters. Monsterception. Oh yeah, I guess Dazzlefruits are edible.
I just found reclaim the wild (which is a fan made legend of Zelda TRPG) and one of the ideals I had for it was Link 100% the game "BOTW or TOTK don't know yet" and then in the fight with ganondorf is just mutual destruction where both sides die fighting each other than have my game take place 40ish years after when a new evil arrives and a new group of heroes have to defeat it.
At first i was against gerudo town because i can't stand the heat, but if the blood moon makes it perpetually night and the desert gets cold at night it's be perfect. (assuming they let my enby ass in. i do not pass but i would damn well like to)
if it’s possible to drive monsters out of an area even after a blood moon like with lurlin village quest I would pick either terry town or kakariko with terry town the only reason is if they can retake even a part of akkala citidal they are golden but if driving monsters out of an area doesn’t work I’ll do kakariko
Wait.. Why was the Yiga included if they're the least likely to even BE attacked since they already worship Ganondorf? I mean if they even would try to hide in the first place, they would probably be a main(?) antagonistic force besides regular old monsters and maybe the absence of Kohga.
We know from certain logs in the Depths that they do get attacked by monsters, and Ganondorf never acknowledges or seems to care about them in the slightest. I think he would spare them if they pledged their loyalty to him after he achieved full power, but if the people were able to begin fighting back against him, he'd certainly be willing to betray them to gain the upper hand like Astor did in Age of Calamity. This is an interesting dynamic for sure.
Learning that you pronounce Majora with a 'Spanish flare' got me thinking. Termina was initially supposed to draw inspiration from Mesoamerica, as evidenced by concept art and a few in-game examples, before the developers settled on a more traditionally Zelda-style (mostly because they didn't have time to make many new assets). While not Spanish, we associate Mexico (and South America) with Spanish influences to this day, including language. So, how sure are we that, in-universe, the name Majora doesn't actually have the 'Spanish flare'?
I would say I would live in Gerudo Town, as it is my favorite town visually (and it's also the safest), but I am a dude so they would not let me in... so Kakariko it is!
Considering Lurelin Village was easily taken over by pirates I’d rate it pretty low. They don’t have escape routes except for the narrow entrance and the ocean. So the pirates were able to come in from the ocean and easily take over. 🤷♂️ but hey they’re trying to do better after rebuilding so who am I to judge

The Rito’s are absolutely useless because in the making a champion book, they say that Ritos can’t see at night
I'd argue we could give the ritos a perfect score:
First of all, shelter, As you pointed out, there are flying monsters, But they are flying monsters that are auper weak, they die in one arrow hit (i literally don't remember needing two to kill one), They only tend to carry lizalfos and bokoblins, and they aren't good shooters, On the other hand, Ritos are shown to be very good shooters, just have ritos guarding around tbe village 24/7 and no aerocudas will get pass (it's also not so fair you used the argument of aerocudas for only two villages and forgot to for the rest)
Second: food, Come on, this are birds, birds eat fish, and they have a huge ass lake below them, On top of that foraging isn't difficult, If a monster approaches, just fly away, Im sure they could cover themselves more for food, The why the adults are out of town (and im sure will either come back or be prepared, as im about to explain) is because of the blizzard, This could be cause because of A) the wind temple or B) seasons
In scenario A, you already said that Link took care of everything so the village is in the perfect state, That would've cause the blizzard to ease, and the adults would be back
In scenario B, im sure it's something they do every year, and the mother saying "i wish we had more food", yeah, you always need more food, it's not that you need them, So they are used to gather lots of food for the winter, and im sure they could do it for longer if you invent delicious aerocuda soup!
For supplies, yeah, four just seems low, They have a lot of building materials on top of what they could forage, They freaking fly remember? Building could also be good, and almost every adult carries a weapon and is prepared for fighting
And about skills... I can't defend that too much tbh, I could argue that they could spy monster settlements or more faraway villages, but that's not in the picture for all I know, But what more skills do you need for a survival situation? You're also not very consistent with what you consider as skills, so that 4 is quite debatable if you were to ask me
I, for one, argue for Gerudo Town that men should fall under supplies and not skills.
Gerudo or yiga, gerudo are well supplied and ready for disaster, the yiga are very stealth. Hateno/kakariko could be good too though
"gorons have the only non perishable food"
Miss...honey can't go bad you know ?
This could be fun to do for older games too
I'd gladly be a Gerudo Town stud.

Technically, you could have the first guy make children with just a few different females, and then the second generation's males make children with the town's remaining women, and so on?
THAT FLUTE, LOL
Also I may be missing something, but doesn't an apocalypse that prevents plants from growing wipe out every species except the Gorons? If you can't grow crops, and you can't grow plants to feed your animals, how does any village last beyond a year or two?
I mix the game logic and real-world logic a bit here, but the blood moon mechanic refreshes any food item that you can forage, so I count those as being replenishable, but you can't go up and grab the food grown in the fields, so those wouldn't be reset with the blood moon and would die like real-world crops would. But you could theoretically feed animals any replenishables, like apples, fish, or mushrooms.
“How much do these villagers know? Do they know things? Let’s find out!” 😅
I’d like to see a version of this but for before the calamity
IF Gerudo Town lets men in in the apocalyptic setting (which maybe they will for survival), I am 100% going Gerudo. If not, then Kakariko.
You know, when I make my own video, I'm going to add how likely the village is going to have a radio stations that plays a crapton of 50s and 60s music. Except that I won't make a Zelda video, since I don't particularly have anything to add.
Nah just find Link's body and give it a fairy.
He will be back and ready for action.

Wrong ore, ma'am.
While Tarry Town is not protected nor prepared, I'd say it will survive against all odds because it seems implied that this place is blessed, it doesn't rain there, there's no distress and it's a place of people from all around the world accomplishing dreams and living it peace
And I mean, they have a monster camp near the entrance yet they have not been attacked despite how easy that would be
1:15 Wouldn't he still be dehydrated?
At gerudo town you mis-named the luminous stone deposits “zonate”
0:47 GG now i imagine link just fell onto the ground and don’t move end edit: i am a men but i want to go to gerudo town
Ok but the Spanish J is how I’m gonna pronounce Majora from now on. Anyway, another banger video, the Gerudo stay winning to the surprise of no one.
I'm not gonna lie, once you get used to it, I think it's way better.
Looks up at a grimacing moon and an imp in a mask dancing on a tower.
I’m going to say none of them could survive that.
You call lumus stone zonite which are very different things
To be frank all the villages in Totk are the ones that withstood an apocalypse
I would choose Hateno village because it survived the Calamity better than any other place. History teaches it's a safe bet.
Gerudo Town has alcohol.
It doesn't matter but the ore in gerudo town is luminous stone and not zonite
Don’t lots of plants have symbiotic fungi that help them get nutrients? Koroks and mushrooms
Wind waker exists they didn’t survive that they wouldn’t survive this.
Tarrey Town's gonna die, and I grew so attached to it! 😢😢😢
You’ve got to remember you can’t see koroks
Monsters can though! Otherwise they wouldn't be afraid of them
Oh true
Hey I have contacted you for editing the video!
