Sleeper Hit: Arcane has already become one of the Netflix's most acclaimed shows ever, despite being an animated prequel series to *a video game franchise* which already has *an oftentimes seemingly self-contradictory lore.* It is also one of the most popular shows in the history of the streaming service.
The main problem whit leages lore is it gets rewritten every second year or so... and adding new things into it that contradict whats already here. But all in all it is quite a good foundation to make a series out off it because of how vague the existing lore is.
@@hohrhamikaiolaf464 Riot has made lots and lots of efforts towards tidying up their lore, rewriting old nonsensical backstories, weaving champion relationships together, pumping out short stories, songs and animations... and Arcane is the culmination of that.

The species issue with yordles is simple: they're magic, live for centuries and come from a completely separate dimension. They're natural do-gooders, even the singular one that wants to do evil eventually does good out of sheer happenstance. (a number of villages happily pretend they're scared of how evil Veigar is, while Veigar himself is content with getting rid of people that aren't scared of him, like bands of looters or thieves that plague the countryside. One of his iconic catchphrases is "I AM evil; stop laughing!". He wants to be evil so bad, but just can't do it properly)

Arcane is one of the best things I've ever seen. I went in with zero expectations, and every episode blew me away. It's not like there were a couple aspects of it that were great and the rest was just ok. I could live with that, I'd watch a show like that and be happy. But no, Arcane was simply excellent in every possible way.
Yup!!!
Except for the disability-representation.
But besides that, goddamfuckingperfect.

@@hohrhamikaiolaf464 Riot has made lots and lots of efforts towards tidying up their lore, rewriting old nonsensical backstories, weaving champion relationships together, pumping out short stories, songs and animations... and Arcane is the culmination of that.
but Netflix had nothing to do with the production, it was Riot Games and Fortiche studios. Netflix was just a distribution platform
@@hohrhamikaiolaf464 No, the problem with league's lore is that it was always just a bunch of disconnected blog posts written by interns that no one cared about. They never really did anything with it until now.

My brother was the one that talked me into watching it. His words were, "Watch Arcane. DON'T play League of Legends." Some gamers are just that toxic, it seems.
@@eryne_erin The toxicity isn't the issue, there's a reason why you can fully disable in game chat. The issue is that the client is God awful, every time they fix a bug, they create 4 more, because the entire game is based off of ten years of spaghetti code, the game design team stopped actually playing the game years ago, and are out of touch with what the player base actually wants, the balance is an atrocity against man, riot refuse to admit that their last actually balanced champ was Jhin, even then they broke him with the item reworks and to top it off, the company who owns Riot is Tencent, so the game is a disguise for Chinese spyware.
