Replacement Username good point there but by comic bio on their height the teenage miles is only 2 inches shorter than adult Peter. I would imagine adult Miles from the Gwen pool comic be taller. Anyway, it’s all just personal preference lol also I think the perception of they should be around the same height comes from Hasbro being cheap and has always used the same body for everything.
@@gamehypothesis1823 looks like UU put Miles closer to the camera. I have both of the figures and while Miles’ shoulders sit higher than Peter’s they’re still both pretty much exactly the same height to the top of the head if you push their pins all the way down.

And for the price I could buy 4 compared to the mafex, I will be getting the brown suit wolverine mafex I think that figure is worth the price of admission. But great review of both figures. Legends has shitty head articulation and while he can crunch deeper he can't do side to side or back nearly as well. Both the thigh cut and the boot cut look ugly when in use and the hands can only pivot one direction. Then there is the biggest flaw which is that you can't get him to twist to the side without making him look really bad using the upper articulation. Btw all these things and the toe articulation are important for spider-Man when doing wall crawling poses which are just as important as swinging and crouching. If Hasbro fixes the head and manage to add a swivel under the ab crunch then it would be mostly as movable, but it would still look worse with how they do their cuts. I'm not saying it isn't worth it for the price. But if you remove the price issue then Mafex is easily and objectively better. If you don't care enough about Spider-Man to pay 80+ for one figuree or you really can't get with the color on the Mafex then the Legends one is a good pick for sure. But it's really not as close in the sculpt and articulation as you make it out.
AnthonysCustoms is getting to me. I am not a fan of this Spider-Man, or atleast not as much as I was originally. It looks decent, but it isn't the Mafex version. Mafex as moves organically, something most MLs haven't pulled off.
The Raven what they really need to do is ball pegs for the torso all around. But keep in mind that because Hasbro market these as age-4+ they need to make these figures fall within certain amount of “parts” . ball pegs vs what they are doing now will make the figure easier to take apart and becomes more “parts” and they can’t market as Age-4+ anymore
@@Levi_52_336 Same. AnthonysCustoms is right. Hasbro has shown they can do better with their other lines and ML figures. And they're not giving it to Spidey. Yeah that was the one I had in my collection for a while. Its a solid figure and the costume design is so close to the comics that he works just as well in a comic style display as he does in a movie display. I got a great deal on a Pizza Spidey so eventually I did upgrade but if it hadn't been for that I'd have happily stuck with the ASM2 version. The only downside was that it had sculpted weblines and I've always preferred painted on, so I'm glad ML is going in that direction with their more recent Spidey figures.
Recently the hinge for the hand got stuck inside the wrist so now I have a handless TASM2 figure which sucks because I’ve had it for 6 years but yeah that figure is great. Unique sculpt, sculpting webbing, great articulation with the exception of his legs not spreading out. That figure is awesome and it’s been slept on because it’s a movie figure.

The muscles of the lower torso are too marked and the upper legs look like hams. He could have been more buff than Pizza Spider-Man, but he should have kept the sleekness of his body contour.
All ML has jacked up muscle definition like they are on roids, so it’s really not surprising. The only part that it looks weird are those giant bulging thighs...
FrankW1029 I like it, it looks like his legs are flexing mid pose. I cycle about 20 miles a day on average and my thighs are genuinely that out-of-proportion as well lol
Awesome!! Thanx man. I was going to get Mafex one for my birthday but i changed my mind and preordered 2 of the legneds one. Still my issue with Mafex is that i am too scared that id pay almost 100 bucks including shipping then it breaks.
I love the mafex one, definitive spider man for me as it has that bagley style. I'm really curious if hasbro could try pulling something similar off unlike there previous Bagley style ultimate spider man which didn't work for me
I have 3 of the Mafex Spider-Man figures, and I really like them a lot. I haven't managed to get my hands on one of new Hasbro Vintage Spideys yet, so I can't really judge which one I think is the best. But from the videos I've seen I am not liking the head articulation set-up on the Hasbro fig. I also don't like the visible pegs (especially the red dots on the inside of his elbows). I am also a big fan of the classic Bronze-Age Spider-Man, but I still feel that the Mafex figure looks better over all. So, I have to agree with your final assessment.
I've been waiting for this one Wade, and damn you never disappoint dude! From an objective standpoint of engineering, paint, articulation, and accessories, the Mafex Spider-Man is undoubtedly better. But from a subjective standpoint, I'm one of those rare people who can't STAND the 90s design for Spider-Man. John Romita Sr. is the GOAT when it comes to drawing Spider-Man IMO, so the I personally prefer the Legends Spider-Man by a mile
Its a tie, both are awesome! One is classic Spidey & the other is the Mcfarlane era, both are a must have for a hardcore Spidey fan! Good luck getting the Mafex one now!
17:45 - That's a _'Truer words have never been spoken'_ statement. For collectors that haven't owned any imports like this, it's hard to convey. Even when I'm holding and (not breaking) articulating a NECA figure, you can see and feel the difference. Hasbro just uses cheap recycled plastics. Doesn't make them fragile or bad at all, just not top quality stuff. If Hasbro would use non gummy and shinny plastic (for example), I'd definitely have no problem paying $30 instead of $20. But, too many get made, and too many younger ppl collect...so gotta keep the cost down.
I don't like how the muscles look on the Marvel Legends figure and how some of the articulation is implemented. I hate those red pegs on the arms (the new pegless system is a major upgrade though). Like you said, Hasbro deluxe figures are the future of the line. Can't wait for War Machine!
Wish they had introduced the pinless joints on this ML Retro Spidey, gonna have to wait for the next ML Spidey to be the definitive one. Great comparison, bro!
I just got the comic paint version of the MAFEX. Was really disappointed with it (legs popping and wrists broke). Hopefully the reissue of 075 fixes these issues.
Cool video ! You should have thrown in the old king Toybiz McFarlane Spidey for comparison's sake. Mafex's is the only one to have dethroned him in my display. But I haven't found the Retro one yet. The only nitpick I have with Mafex's is the blue diaper. I wish they had put the red line of the costume on that part of the figure.
The comparison vids are always awesome bruv. Good shit! I love my Mafex because I feel he's more Bagley based and can't wait For the wave to ship because this Spider-Man right here, the Romita Sr. version is the one I've been waiting for. Both show my two favorite versions from my fathers era to mine when I got into collecting.. ages ago haha.
I don't have any Mafex till the gambit arrives, but the spidey has always been on my to get list, I have the retro spidey on the way and I plan to customize him a bit, I also really like the idea you had to improve the waist on the mafex spiderman, I love mods, great review bro SUPER helpful
the ML one isn't bad like you said, but Hasbro needs to do way more to catch up in engineering. i.e. peg-less, go with ball-peg in the upper and lower torso, hide those ugly thigh and boot swivel (because when those rotates they are fugly). other than joints being peg-less they also need to smooth out the joints instead of giving them those notches that gets weaker overtime. AND most importantly, new molds for each characters which we all know that's not going to happen. import figures cost more also because they are willing to spend the money on new molds to make a new figure even if it's just a costume change. i.e. brown costume Wolverine is getting new torso, new claw piece, new head sculpts, new shoulder.
Yeah but if a line like ML has the widest variety of comic characters which people want to buy a lot of to collect, they can't make it as expensive as an import figure. Unfortunately sacrificing the quality in the process but it's alright tbh. Plus the price range isn't too bad for most ML figures
@@liltaco4119 valid point, but sure they can. they don't need to take the figure up to $50-60 SHF range or $70-80 MAFEX range, but they can easily do $25-30 that gives you more accessories, unique sculpt, better paint, and better execution in the joints. i.e. movie Cable, Hugh Jackman, etc. that recently came out. take a look at ZD Toys MK3, MK2, and the MK4 that just announced. These are $25-30 figures officially licensed figures also. If a smaller Chinese based company that can offer these type of paint and accessories and packaging, Hasbro certainly can.
It’s ML Spidey for me based on price, the head sculpt, the paint colour and body lines. It does what I need it to do posing wise and I’m able to get most of the wave at the same price point. The packaging is amazing too.

Had to get it in there before I forgot hahahaha.
@@UnparalleledUniverse Thought you forgot about me in the stream!, your a g man!🙌
Mafex spidey: The King
Retro spidey: The budget King
All we need now is a Mafex Green Goblin... I hope they make one!
or Emo Parker
It's a rap battle with their respective crews in the back. In my head, it was three import/premium Spidey's psyching out Hasbro, and vice versa.
Loved the video! Can't find Retro Spidey anywhere, though. Will have to wait for my pre-order 😐
I can't afford many action figures so watching your videos and reviews make me happy. I hope one day I can buy a spiderman figure
I was posing and playing my marvel legends retro spidey watching this :D
I've been waiting for this one Wade, and damn you never disappoint dude! From an objective standpoint of engineering, paint, articulation, and accessories, the Mafex Spider-Man is undoubtedly better. But from a subjective standpoint, I'm one of those rare people who can't STAND the 90s design for Spider-Man. John Romita Sr. is the GOAT when it comes to drawing Spider-Man IMO, so the I personally prefer the Legends Spider-Man by a mile
Oh hey!!! You're the shartimusprime nipple guy, I remember you!
NotTooFast Always a pleasure to meet a fan ;)
NotTooFast Hahhahahahahahahhahahha
Great video !
-Unparalleled Backstabber :P
🤣🤣🤣
Its a tie, both are awesome! One is classic Spidey & the other is the Mcfarlane era, both are a must have for a hardcore Spidey fan! Good luck getting the Mafex one now!
If you repaint the pegs I think it would be perfect. I'm going to search for him within the next few days
Great comparison vid!
11:14 How he is moving the head is hilarious, like bro has to be crying under the mask right now
Chungus1Trick or dead under the marks lol
I don't like how the muscles look on the Marvel Legends figure and how some of the articulation is implemented. I hate those red pegs on the arms (the new pegless system is a major upgrade though).
Like you said, Hasbro deluxe figures are the future of the line. Can't wait for War Machine!
Wish they had introduced the pinless joints on this ML Retro Spidey, gonna have to wait for the next ML Spidey to be the definitive one. Great comparison, bro!
Which red u prefer?
We need an updated version w how ML has been doing. I really need to see if that amazing fantasy Holds up w Mafex
Update coming soon!
Hi, do you think they will re release this again as I keep missing it.
I don’t have a Spider-Man 😕. I would love one.
I just got the comic paint version of the MAFEX. Was really disappointed with it (legs popping and wrists broke). Hopefully the reissue of 075 fixes these issues.
Awesome review!! Can you tell me where I can get information about hasbro is trying to pegless??
Awesome Spider-Man figures
I’m with you on that. The Legend is an excellent figure, but the Mafex is still superior (as it should be for the price lol) but well done ML! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Thanks for this comparison!!! 💯🔥🔥
Is the marvel legends retro wave out already in stores
The comparison vids are always awesome bruv. Good shit! I love my Mafex because I feel he's more Bagley based and can't wait For the wave to ship because this Spider-Man right here, the Romita Sr. version is the one I've been waiting for. Both show my two favorite versions from my fathers era to mine when I got into collecting.. ages ago haha.
5:20 how did you take it apart?
Nice vídeo man!!
Goodness ML has a great box! Should I open him?
Ohhh that's a tough one but I'm a dangerous person to ask. I will never tell a figure collector to keep something in a box haha.
best 6 inch movie spiderman figures next please
Been waiting weeks for this video! So hyped!!
still feel like the marvel legends is the best for $20 but the mafex is the best so far. but 90s is my spiderman
Why are you talking about the Hasbro Spider-Man as if it is an Import figure, it’s obviously not!?
I would put them both in my number one spot because they’re two different types of styles of Spider-Man
Are you going to get the Mafex carnage? Looks awesome!
I gotta review the limit toys and Damn toys 1/12 stuff.Ooh la la.
Can you do a best Venom comparison video?
@@FrankW1029 yeah i guess so
It’s ML Spidey for me based on price, the head sculpt, the paint colour and body lines. It does what I need it to do posing wise and I’m able to get most of the wave at the same price point. The packaging is amazing too.
