E' per me uno dei migliori baritoni della nostra epoca:timbro bellissimo,lucente e sicuro negli acuti,espressivo sempre.Qualcuno critica la dizione,ma bisogna considerare che non è italiano.
La dizione sarebbe trascurabile... il resto no ...
Negli anni 70 uno dei migliori baritoni con Zancanaro Carroli Glossop Panerai.
Mi piace molto la sua voce, migliore di altri baritoni, ma la dizione a volte un pochino troppo yankee, mi disturba

@@vincenzomarenghi1660 certamente in questo brano di sente anche meno che in altre occasioni. Resta il fatto che resta uno dei migliori baritoni.

the acute in the end of the cabaletta is not wrote by Verdi ....is great that he omits .I Think is better sing that the composer wrote
I was waiting for the B-flat at the end, and then didn't get it, leaving the tension normally released by it.

@@commandert5 the cabaletta was originally made to have that exact effect. By many it was considered a mere "applause harvester", and Bellini begrudgingly wrote cabalettas in his operas. But man, Verdi knew how to be a Rockstar hehehehe. Proud of being born in his and Tosacanini's same city. And Bergonzi's, Campanini's...By the way, it's the same effect of the big fireworks scenes in the action movies.
It's no easy job for a baritone to sing the B flat you know...
Pity that Sherrill Milnes omits the acute in the final of the cabaletta ... still excellent interpretation ...

The highest interpolated note for baritones fans have a right to is A flat. Notes above that are confined to singers with an unusual high extension. I would practically boo a baritone who sang what is written as the last music of Rigoletto, ,but would never expect a unison A at the end of ‘Si pel ciel’.
Non male ma manca di aulicità, il timbro é accettabile e non sento il grande condottiero romano. Assolutamente imparagonabile a Zancanaro...

Va bene le opinioni, ma niente cazzate. Milnes che armonia. Sugli acuti il coprire lo sforamento di potenza vocale, dizione perfetta, una musica

@@cristinapalermo3569with about 1/2 of the power of Milnes, whose voice in the house was ENORMOUS. Heard Zancanaro sing Di Luna and Renato at the Met in 1982. Lovely voice but little impact.
