This album ruled my life from 87-88, absolute monster of an album.

This song is the quintissential 80's tune. Reverb on the instruments, top down on the car, just driving with nowhere in particular to go, overall carefree vibe. One of the first songs I wanted to learn on both guitar and bass.
Now people realize why this was so great. It was their #1.

The 80's was a great decade in music, it just moves you and touches your soul!
Such a chill version of not only Def Leppard but 80's rock in general! This is actually one of my favorites of theirs! You get their typical harmony which is nice for a rock band, but the tempo is just oh so nice and mellow. And still, you get those fantastic rock notes and then the brief yet pleasant guitar solos. It's a masterpiece I tell ya!
I loved it one of the biggest albums ever the production was top notch it's sold like 60 millions copy's they kick ass still going strong today

Gotta do "Photograph" and "Pour Some Sugar On Me". They're bangers. Drummer Rick Allen lost his arm in a car accident. They other members waited for him to heal and develop a new way to perform.
Foolin or Too Late for Love from Def Leppard's live In the Round In Your Face video are must sees!

Saw them at the Montreal Forum way back when, was an incredible show musically and visually and the crowd was nice to look at too, lol.
"Love Bites" has to be next. Hysteria is one of the best produced albums at the height of actually putting money into that part of the album. Layers upon layers of goodness. Mutt Lange is a genius. 'Foolin' is another gem from an earlier album you would rock to. Sample them and let me know if I'm wrong. You don't stick around for 40 years by accident
Still together, and still able to do great live performances. Joe Elliot's voice isn't as strong as it used to be, but he still sounds pretty good. And it's almost the same lineup you saw here - the long haired guitarist (Steve Clark) died a few years after this video, but their new guitarist (Vivian Campbell) is great as well, and has been with the band since then.
Rick Allen still carries the beat smoothly with only 1 arm
This album, "Hysteria", was the follow up to "Pyromania" that was hugely successful.
After coming off that tour they decided to take some time off before hitting the studio again.
The drummer, Rick Allen, was driving his 1984 Corvette when he ended up crashing flipping it and losing his left arm. It was reattached, but infection set in and it had to be amputated.
The band decided to wait until he was ready to come back, relearning to play on an electric drum kit playing the parts with his left foot he used to play with his arm.
During that time their producer, Mutt Lange, left and finally came back to finish the album. It took 3 years and this album pulled off 7 or 8 hit singles.
Absolutely love this song. Their most popular song is Pour Some Sugar On Me. Love Bites is similar to Hysteria. Animal and Rocket are like Let's Get Rocked
Maybe the best mixed album in my opinion of all time, all the instruments flow together with the vocals and harmony's like warm butter, great job in the studio mixed with great players and great songs
Another great one guys! How ironic that you did this one at the same time you did the Tesla song. The 2 bands are great friends and have toured together a lot. The irony is that "Song and Emotion" was written about Steve Clark, the guitar player with the long blonde hair in this video. Steve died in 1991 due to alcohol related causes. Def Leppard is still very active. They are true pros, much like Tesla. Def Leppard just did the "stadium Tour" last year with Motley Crue, Poison and Joan Jett. \m/ \m/

Let's Get Rocked and Hysteria are two excellent choices from Def Leppard to start with! From there, more great choices would be Bringin' on the Heartbreak, Photograph, Foolin', Pour Some Sugar on Me, Love Bites, Have You Ever Needed Someone so Bad, When Love and Hate Collide...
This song, and album, takes me back to 7th grade camp. I remember this was one of the songs they played at the camp disco, and one of the first times I slow danced with a girl, will never forget that, so much nostalgia.
You really need to listen to some of their early stuff from High n Dry & Pyromania albums

I used to not like love bites from the same album Hysteria for a lot of years. Last year I gave it another listen. I actually like love bites now. Goes to show taste changes.

I've seen them 6 times, the first time was the Hysteria tour in 1988 in the round. They never disappoint. This whole album is fire...!!!! Listen to Love Bites...!

They are the band that started that style of metal or rock with Mutt Lange in 1981. So many imitators but nothing as good as the originators often called the first hair band but that is not true. Hanoi Rocks was the first hair metal band. You should do Slip of the tongue by Hanoi Rocks sometime soon. She will love the hair.

The album that this song comes from had 7 singles on the Billboards top 100 count down & 6 of the 7 singles were in the top 10 from August of 87 - October of 88 . Something that no other album has done in the last going on 36 years .
This is an incredible album from these guys for sure. We had just got cable tv in my area in 1988, so I got to see the music videos of all of their songs they had released. I remember that time period well, it's insane the run they had from late 1987 through the fall/winter of 1988.
Do Photograph by Def Leppard. It's their best song and blonde chicks dig it.
