My late husband is the one who introduced me to Garrison Keillor's show. Every Sunday!
The day always started with easy jazz and a great breakfast!
And it always wound down listening to Mr. Keillor.
Hearing his voice takes me back to our home and it warms me.

So glad you're back, Garrison!! Don't let anyone keep you down. Minnesota Public Radio was so unfair in condemning you! The one and only Lake Wobegon, YES!! I've seen Garrison Keillor onstage four times now. The last performance was at the Hult Center for the Performing Arts in Eugene, Oregon, where he was literally onstage for the whole show, never taking a break. That was about two weeks before the shit hit the fan about his alleged sexual abuse charges. I also used to listen to his "Writers Almanac" every day, enjoyed that program, too. I couldn't believe how quickly MPR threw him under the tracks without any real conviction, just discarded him like he was nothing. Shame on you, MPR!

People who don't like each other standing jowl to cheek ....Indeed. I am a long-time admirer of your work. You are wonderfully gifted! You have the ability to make ordinary extraordinary with your BEAUTIFUL voice and ways. When you were under assault, I stood up for you in any way I could, (simply a listener I am). I continue to listen to you, despite being made aware, by reading your own words (though forgive me I can't recall precisely where) about people like me. You don't like us., we, the NON-LEFT. You said we don't read books (I collect old books, I collect short stories, even at least one you edited). I love to read. You said we don't make our own pasta (yes I do!). I bake our own bread, I garden, cook with fresh herbs from beside our house. You said all manner of ugly things about 'us', implying we are artless, ignorant trash. YET, here I am and likely will be, standing CHEEK TO JOWL with you, because I LIKE YOU.

I’ve been listening to your shows since 76
I raise draft horses in Colorado and every Saturday I will bring in all my horses to completely go over ever horse from top to bottom
I would have your show on and love every minute of it
Then you retired and the replacement show is not appealing to me and last year my npr station dropped the show.
Then all the quick to jump to conclusions ignorance started and you backed away and I don’t blame you
    But
I miss you show so much and have tried to purchase shows and keep coming up empty
Could you Please point me in the right direction to buy all episodes
Thank you for all the years of incredible talent

We could use these folksy community tales again at this time of divisiveness.

The town he describes is one that once was and it’s sad doesn’t exit anymore. True Americana is something that was more precious than we ever thought. I know it’s partly jokes but the image of small town America where people cared about their neighbors and were mostly Christian is one that has been dying as we become a nation that cares more about stuff then people and listen to the lies that the media tells us. Is just a sad thought.
