I was in Ireland listening to my trusty Maura compilation as I was driving over the hill to the southern coast of the Dingle Peninsula. As I crested the hill and looked down into Dingle Bay, the song playing was 'Western Highway', and I just lost it emotionally. The combo of actually being IN Ireland after dreaming of it for so many years, hearing her incredible voice, and seeing the morning sun glinting off the sea was too much.
Maura has such a beautiful voice, i first heard her voice on Donal Lunny album "Bring it all back home" more than 33 years ago, I was aware she's been going longer, but never gave her a thought! Ive recorded with Donal on one of his live stage concerts and have chatter to him about her!

What a voice! Been listening to her since the 80's and she never disappoints. Wish I would have seen her in person.

There is something in her voice, it is a bit melancholic, romantic, beautiful.
