Its mine, order date and time match 😅 Can confirm it is a great guitar but sadly indeed only a 1000 series Floyd, which is even more baffling due to the fact that other guitars from the Concept series do come with an OFR. But on the other side, I never had issues with a 1000 series Floyd and they have been as good as OFRs for me, probably because I am not constantly Kerry-King-ing on it😅
the last R in the gio name stands for reverse headstock. the numbers aare serial numbers for diffrent pickup combos/pickguard and trem style and the last letters is the finish code, just heard you say reverse headstock now while writing/watching lol. have fun!
Fun fact: the NYXL strings ARE technically the same as the XS and the XT strings - they just apply a nano coating to the NYXL’s in two different processes. The XS coating gets applied on the NYXL after winding so it feels a bit slick. The XT get the coating prior to winding so they feel naked. I’ve heard D’addario explain this in interviews and it’s mentioned somewhere on their site (or was at one time). I like XT’s for acoustic and XS for electric - mostly for the feel. The XT’s are perfectly balanced while the XS has a tiny bit of added treble as compared to XS. The XS also has a more defined tone than the XT because of the way the coatings are applied. So you kind still like NYXL’s, lol. They’re just coated NYXL’s. 😎🤘🏻🎸
Cool thanks for the info--I've been using NYXLs simply because they last long and do not break--I picked up some of the other ones but haven't tried them yet.
The Jackson SL27 first appeared as a Custom shop guitar back in the early 2000, and some for NAMM shows. They then decided to make a a limited release in 2020 wildcard series in blue sparkle. And now the 'production' model in black (other than the floyd). They are all neck thrus; not dinky. Jackson also have 27 frets guitar back in the early - mid 90's call 'falcon' model only available in Japan. The luthier then started Caparison Guitar in the mid 90s and they have the Horus and TAT special in 27 frets.
The Jackson isnt an ibanez copy, they did 27 fret soloists in the early 2000's, but even before that they were making the Jackson Falcon which went on to become the Caparison Horus when itaru turned the Jackson Japan factory into its own brand
my thoman purchases usually look exactly like the second basket since I also always ask my bandmates if anyone needs anything and just gather links and end up with a giant heep of random stuff.
Ibanez having those codes aren't an issue, it makes it easy to identify what exact model you have. The problem is that they don't have an actual name in place of it for the consumer and marketing. That Gio could just be called the Gio Blackout or some other kind of edgy name for metal kids. XD
@@wesleyzimmerman94 I don't think knowing what each character represents is the most important thing, it's more effective for archiving and pulling up a spec sheet for that exact guitar. I look at it like a SKU. I don't know what it means, it's just a model number. :P

Lmaoo I saw his video too
Was thinking the same thing
Lol he's giving that guitar away to a member soon
He said he ordered it directly from Jackson, so highly unlikely :D

learning how to read Ibanez with Rando Ontheinternet:
GRGR131EX-BKF:
G... - GIO line
RG - Road Gear shape (superstrat)
...R - Reverse headstock
1xx - 100 series, lower level
3x - HH with a pickguard
xx1 - hardtail
EX - EXtreme (shark tooth inlays, dark binding)
BKF - BlacK Flat finish

Those garlic strings better be scented for $20!
I'm only here for the cat
@8:55 I have this bass (though it was 3x that price so I'm not sure what change) and it is great! The active EQ circuit is just right for metal bass.
There's different tiers of that bass shape, they do make a nice higher-end one

I really wish the ZR trem would come back. That and Kahlers are extremely underrated.

The only downside to the Ibanez naming is that they've changed the system more than once without a perfect guide to what the changes were

Finally another Ibanez code-cracker! I enjoy figuring out the specs just from the model names lol
One of those ovations was my first guitar... I liked it at least. even if it was also trying to slide off my lap the whole time

The e-jack is an intonation tool for trems

I think Jackson did the 27 frets thing first with some older model, not sure though
Plenty of manufacturers did it even back in the 80s, but they really did copy the entire design of the Ibanez here, down to the pickup configuration 😂
