Joey struggled with just doing this tour, Korn grooves aren't really where he rest naturally. It works in live settings sure, but actually getting together and writing music, probably just wasn't going to work. Even in the Murderdolls, where the drumming is far simpler than Skipknot, Joey is going all in.

Nobody called this Death metal so not sure what you are going on about. Also, Korn don't even consider themselves to be Nu so its not exactly a title set in stone for bands like this.
