You should start the set up in the app. This week prompt you to scan the qr code before plugging it in. After that, just file the directions in the app. It will be a much easier setup.
This Chime Pro is so much better than the old one, user friendly and easy to install very fast. The light is more viewable no straining the eyes like the last one.
My first generation chime pro lasted me only 1 year and I called Ring to see if they would give me a free replacement but they said my warranty expired so I got me a Rock Space WiFi extender and it works great with Ring and all other devices but it does not have a chime. its been 6 month and works Great.
If anyone is trying to get better Wi-Fi connection due to poor Wi-Fi connection YOU NEED THIS. My outdoor stickup cam was having a poor connection and always offline. I bought the chime pro and PROBLEM SOLVED.
Hey, I have the ring 2 doorbell and the ring chime. I keep losing the WiFi connection so Ring are sending me the chime pro to help with the connection. Do I replace this with the other chime which is plugged into my socket in my hall?.
If the ringer is situated between your router and the doorbell, then replace the original ringer with the pro version. You then need to enable the WiFi extension feature on the ringer via the app, then you will need to re-setup the doorbell to connect to the ringer (extended WiFi) instead of your existing WiFi
Jay P That’s a really good question. I’m not entirely sure, I haven’t got any of the Ring security/alarm system so I can’t check. It may be worth contacting Ring and asking the question. Their customer support is really good!
I asked ring support and they told me it does not integrate with the alarm system... I am having the same problem where I am unable to hear the base station upstairs however I prefer to keep it downstairs. let me know if you found any solution to your question thanks.
@@jont5034 _ You can add a "Dome Siren" (buy directly from their site) or another "Base Station" to your alarm system setup. I too was having this problem and these are the answers I Received directly from Ring. Good luck...
It does get a little warm, maybe if you can get yours an equal distance between your router and other ring device(s), it may not work so hard and therefore not get so hot
thank you for the info my brother , I have a question if you get the ring pro ring bell the one that goes wired to the wall do you need the Chime also ?
Can you just add one ring item to this? I just need it to boost the signal to my cam that is about 15/20 feet away from the front door. It’s currently working on my normal wi-fi network but the signal is weak.
You can add more than one item as it is acting as a signal booster for ring devices only. So you can connect a manner of doorbells, chimes and cameras to this
@@andycdgreen I’ve bought one and installed it and tbf it has improved the signal but not by much at all, guys at ring said give it a few days see how I feel. The signal is still weak (was RSSI 89 now RSSI 76 with the chime pro) so has improved it but it’s 100% not worth £50 it would easier to move your router closer if you can and save the money. Works but I wouldn’t buy another one.
First chime wouldn't connect to router and had ti try many times and finally it connected and now i cant use my wifi on my phone and the chime at the same time. I had to unplug the chime to use my WiFi. So far I haven't been happy with there products.
Hi so I'm a bit confused, what is this actually for and what does it do? I have just purchased the ring doorbell 2nd gen. Does this work with that? So if somebody was to press the doorbell would it send a sound to this chime device so I know somebody was at the door?
Yes, exactly that. Ring doorbells were originally designed to work with American prewired doorbells that run at 24 v ac. So pressing the button in that type of system would “ring” the existing prewired doorbell. This Chime is designed to be placed anywhere within WiFi distance to replace the prewired system, or to be used if you don’t already have one in place. This “pro” model also extends WiFi to other Ring products too
Joe White Sorry I didn’t include this. A few people have asked the same, so keep please subscribe and hit the notification button as I will add an additional video including all the doorbell “ringtones” soon 👍
Rich Boz I’m not 100% sure. It’s probably best to place it approx halfway between your router the cameras you wish to install. The less amount of objects in the way (walls, etc) the better range you will have
This chime pro 2nd gen is really p.....ng me off today. I spent 4 hours trying to connect to my wifi, it says connect to its wifi which i do but then it wont continue after that and of i go out and when i drop out of the app and go back in it says again ready to set up with green blinking light and goes back to connect to ring network. Really annoying me 😡
Hi, did you ever get round to connecting your ring doorbell to the chime pro WiFi? Any noticeable benefit? Also if you have a chime pro, and a doorbell, plus 2 additional outdoor cameras, are you able to set it up so that the chime pro only sounds when the doorbell is either rang or motion is detected? And any notifications from the additional 2 cameras are just sent via phone as usual and don’t sound through the chime? Many thanks 😊
I haven’t connected the doorbell to the chime pro, it is still connected to my home WiFi. My door bell is close enough to my home WiFi router that I don’t need to use the “WiFi extender” feature on the Chime Pro. The Chime Pro is the only ringer in my setup, the original Chime I have donated to a friend who purchased a different model of Ring Doorbell which didn’t come with a ringer. As for additional Ring cameras, I don’t have any... yet! But watch this space as my Ring ecosystem will be due some additions and maybe an upgrade in the new year! 😉

There is a qr code on the manual as well
Would be nice to know what a chime sounds like, how loud it is, if there are different chime options...
You can find a follow up video with all the chimes here: ua-cam.com/video/y7aiqft2JV8/v-deo.html
During setup it gives you the options of various chimes or go to the settings you have access to them
So you replaced a 1st generation to the second generation, correct?
Is this working with 220 voltage? Couse my electric is 220 voltage ? Thank you
Yes, it is multi voltage
I have just seen a review where it states that the Ring chime pro only extends wifi in the ring network itself.
Yes, that is true. It only extends WiFi for other Ring products only
You said the setup was a little troublesome which means you cut out the problem you were having setting it up.
Ant Parks The app froze on me, so I had to close it and start again
If you have a VPN on your device make sure to disable it before trying setup it took me about 5 minutes to figure it out I forgot about the VPN

Do u need Ring subscription to use chime ?
No, it’s just for devices that have cameras, so the footage can be saved to the cloud
I just received mine today and it didn’t work. It keeps telling me the router is too far.
Completely New to Ring, does it come with an actual doorbell for the front. No mention anywhere of an actual door bell in the video or packaging
so.. are there different sound settings, how does it connect?how does it perform?
Can you set different ringtones ???
ua-cam.com/video/y7aiqft2JV8/v-deo.html
So if u unplug this this front door ring doorbell will disconnect ?
Yes, unless you have another “chime” connected to the doorbell
I like it
For me, this is very frustrating to say the least. You would think by now it would be a much simpler task than what it is.
You may want to contact Ring for your set up, it's not as bad as you think, compaired to the last chime version.
Can this integrate with the ring security system in order to give notifications when door entry is opened/closed and alarm settings? Thanks
