Nice one Trev. I know the camera gives a restricted field of view, but around 23:40 and 25:30 I was wondering what your "glide clear" options would have been had the donkey stopped? I'm a firm believer in Murphy's Law, if something can go wrong, it will...eventually, and at the worst possible moment!
I couldn't put it better than @juleesadventures7925...; it would frighten the life out of me up there but you seem so relaxed and thorough about it all. I did wonder how you understand some of the radio transmissions, then you mentioned it. Excellent, another fascinating and informative video, cheers Trev 👍
Nice one Trev! A busy airfield. I haven’t made it in there, though I have passed close to the east of it when routing from Darley Moor down to Popham - just before losing all my electrics a few miles south of Bromsgrove (Stoney Lane). Fortunately I had a backup nav option and was able to complete my journey ‘non-radio’. Your crossing of Birmingham was impressive. I’m usually heading north -south (or vice versa) so no real reason (excuse) to transit the Birmingham Zone (yet). Maybe I’ll arrange to route via Ha’penny Green next time I’m heading down to Deenethorpe 😊
Well done Trev! As a GA pilot it’s easy to stay in your comfort zone as there’s enough to contend with already. But when you do venture outside… such as your EGBB zone crossing, it’s really rewarding, as you point out. It also makes for a great vid 👌👍
Trev, loved this one for a few reasons. a) HG is my home training airfield, b) BZDS (Nordo) is the Quantum I trained in, c) JS that took off on 28 was my instructor and d) having recently passed my FRTOL and only so far having managed a Basic Service from RAF Shawbury, this has gee'ed me up to try for a zone transit in the not too distant. Felt like I was in the circuit with you! Nice one 🙂
Terrific video Trev. Heart stopping moments. I think the radio traffic is difficult to understand and you have to be on the ball with your directions and where to go. Many thanks
Another Informative video ( Without annoying music) I listened intently to the radio messages as I too think they talk too fast to pick up vital info. Im sure I just need more experience. You keep posting, I’ll keep watching. Regards Batts.
Man like Trev👨🏻✈️When you flying over Manchester 😎🤙🏽 + how'd you fly that kite in this weather?😅 by thevtime ive watched all your videos im going to be a fully qualified pilot😅
Loved watching the video Trev, especially as it was continuous. Would have been a bonus catching something landing or taking off at Birmingham. Maybe next time. I would like to ask you if you get nervous flying over such a built-up area. There didn't seem to be many landing options down there. That would have phased me more than transiting airspace, I think. Anyway, it's a great video. Thank you. Jon
Great flight! I know my dad loves VFR sim flying around birmingham as its near to us and where we grew up. Sent him the link to this. Mad to think you can request zone transit and go right across such a big airport.
Can i just go out and buy one of these to fly or will i need a license?😂 ive seen one for 3.5k on ebay👀 Im pretty sure i can learn the "im coming in hot on the left"😅
ha ha plenty of chimney tops to land on with an engine out. Must admit in my very limited radio use trying to fly in turbulence and remember info with bad reception I found it too stressful.
Thanks for the interesting flight 🙂 im curious, does your aircraft have an onboard transponder or do you have that feature in your portable. Also do you use ATS-B at all. Would like to watch for you on the trafic maps. I think clarity will get better if they ever go digital, its been a long time but I thought the plan was for everyone to go to ACARS / ATS. Thanks again 🙂
@trev.lee.adventure Thanks.. The tech now is great, years ago a microlight would not have had TCAS at all. I really do miss flying. Thank you for your videos, always interesting 👍
Great video again Trev. Which flying suit do you use. I need the see through leg patches for my gyro flying. I had an Ozee flying suit, but the see through patch ripped 😢
Well I see I'm #80 for likes. How about that.? Good morning Trev from down here in Nz. Looks an ok day, from where I'm sitting. Hey just thinking, if you ever want to broaden your horizons, you can't go wrong coming down our way. A lot of airfields are on private sheep stations, but made available to private pilots like you. One or two are shared by the local gliding clubs. You can imagine what the thermals are like in those locations.!! Unknown factor, I can't help you with info on landing fees, if any. Anyway, thanks for sharing mate. As usual, great visuals. Take care and all the very best from down here in Nz.
I think they asked you to hold on the way in. What would have happened if you had reached the airport while you were in holding? Would you have done a circuit or something similar? Non pilot here obvs!
Great video trev. Loved to hear how you go about it.we dont have as much call for it as theres tones of space where all that stuff doesnt happen. Keep up the great videos. I always look forward to seeing what your up to.
As usual another great video. One minor gripe though , it's pronounced Ha'penny Green, not Halfpenny. ( I used to fly gliders out of nearby Cosford before the club moved to Shawbury three years ago).
Another no bull shit video just Trev and his flying machine and no stupid music perfect 👍
😎👍
Great pick me up on a p1ss wet Monday in Merseyside; thanks Trev😊

#Trevlee Great vidéo and professional ans smooth RADIO TELEPHONY communication as well,Happy more landings hours mate👍🏻!.
Much appreciated. Thank you

I would proberbly have to stick it in someone's back garden to be honest Graham 🤔
Nice. I’ve no transponder, only running ADSB so doubt I’d get away with something like that.
A transpoder certainly helps to get you places
grate vid Trev thanks, you went right over my house ha ha
Glad you enjoyed it😉

That was a great upload.
Very interesting flying over Birmingham Airport.
Can I ask how long you’ve been flying?
@@JoeyClacton just over 4 years now 🙂

Absolutely👍
Lovely shot flying over R33, what sort of speed would that have been, ? Great vid and loved the comms..
I think i had a slight headwind so it would have been around 70 mph

Thanks for the video.......I was wondering if you also have shots of you and your plane when you are flying or landing?
There are some if you have a look through my vids

They are generally happy to oblige. I havent been refused yet. 👍

Yep you need a licence mate National Private Pilots Licence (NPPL)
ha ha plenty of chimney tops to land on with an engine out. Must admit in my very limited radio use trying to fly in turbulence and remember info with bad reception I found it too stressful.
👍
Hi Trev, great insight to your flight across Birmingham and I agree they talk double fast so it's hard to take it all in
Absolutely. It takes more time to say it twice than once slowly 😬
Great insight. Can i ask what you are writing with on your knee pocket?
Any info they give me such as transpoder codes, air presure settings, runway numbers and hight restrictions.
Another great video very interesting and informative thanks trev
Your welcome

I have a Trigg transponder fitted. I also have Pilot Aware so I can see other aircraft and they can see me.

Its a Blue Sky Blue Dave. I use a wax pencil nand write on the outside with some white paper tooked inside. 😉
@@trev.lee.adventure thank you Trev 😊
I enjoyed that. Did you have to file a flight plan in advance, phone beforehand or just call on radio to Birmingham Radar once airborne? Thanks
You can file a flight plan but you don't have too. Even if you file a flight plan you still have to call them up on the radio. 👍

Yes. Holding is orbiting or circling. I have been asked to prepare to orbit over the NEC before and then given clearance to cross
Thank you for asking this. I was wondering the same.
Thanks for sharing, great to get a insight into another world. Brian in nz.
Thanks Brian. 😉
Trev what is your wing made from ❤
Aluminium tube with sail cloth cover
Great video very interesting thanks
