    What mostly trigger my vestibular migrain, is low iron (with anemia). It turns to chronic when my iron levels gets low. I get iron infusions 2-3 times a year. It usually helps in 3 weeks.
    When my iron levels are fine I can keep attacks in 1-3 times a month, those vestibular attacks go away in 1-2 hours, just taking normal pain medicatios. I have prevention medication, ketogenic diet, good sunglasses and no stress lifestyle. I sleep 7 hours a night, avoid people with parfume each. Sometimes I need cortisone for 1-3 weeks to balance my brain. It's been 8 years now. First my attacks ware 2 weeks, then up to 3 months. Nowadays it's 1 hour to 1 month.

      @@rupalrbsplease don't oversimplify - you can't cure migraines with vitamin D. Yes, take viamin D - it is good for you. Bt you don't have migraines, you just had vitamin D deficiency if that worked for you.

    One thing that I found triggered my vestibular migraines to become chronic was getting glasses with progressive bifocals. I've never seen this addressed anywhere, but two months after getting those glasses I still hadn't adjusted to them, when normally it only takes me a week or so, and that's when my chronic vestibular migraine journey began. Previous to this, I typically had one migraine every 6 months, lasting at most 24 hours. I just want to put it out there in case it's also affecting someone else.

      I believe this is what caused mine, too. I had my first progressives about a month before my first experience with vertigo, with consistent issues getting used to the prescription, and now seem to be having persistent vestibular migraines.

    I am suffering from migraine for 12 years now and during days of attacks I experience dizziness and vertigo even while lying down still. It feels like I am feeling motion sickness although I am not traveling in a vehicle. I got these all after walking on treadmill which i had to give up ultimately as the symptoms got very severe leading to multiple migraine attacks. What could be the reason for such symptoms? Is it vestibular migraine? Or basilar migraine as my physician told me?

    If a triptan doesn’t do anything to help with the migraine /aura/ sensory issues from migraine, does that mean that it’s more related to vertigo then an actual migraine? Sorry if that sounds confusing lol I’m just confused 😂🙏🏽

    • @vivicadoll249
      @vivicadoll249 6 місяців тому +3

      Not necessarily. Triptans are not effective for all people with migraine, so a triptan not getting rid of vertigo or other migraine symptoms doesn't rule out migraine as a cause. Vertigo is just a symptom of a disorder, not a disorder in itself. It can be caused by a lot of different things, which is why it's so important to find a neuro-otologist for an accurate diagnosis. I highly recommend seeing a neuro-otologist over other doctors, because they are (in my experience) the most thorough in examining possible causes and giving an accurate diagnosis. Vestibular migraine wasn't an accepted diagnosis 15 years ago, so many doctors were never taught about it. I graduated nursing school in 2015 and never learned about it either, until I was diagnosed in 2019.
