Tip from therapy: look at the spot between the eyes. To the person you're talking to, this is indistinguishable from real eye contact. You just have to look away about every 20-30 seconds to make it seem even more natural. (And yes, I know that this is just masking and we shouldn't have to do this, but it can be helpful to play along in certain situations.)

2-3 years after starting HRT my eyes were almost as blue as eyes can be.
Similar things can happen to pregnant people, apparently.
It was kind of terrifying, because I didn’t make the connection, because I didn’t notice until my wife was confused when I was putting the wrong eye colour in a form or something.

The Rugrats movie clip is even worse than you think for two reasons:
    1) the context of that clip was that one of the babies was looking for someone else in their group to sniff his feet and tell if than stank or not. Because why only have one barely disguised fetish when you can have two?

So, PETA once _demanded_ that the Village of Fishkill, NY, change it's name to something less "violent against animals."
Fishkill is named after Fishkill Creek, a name kinda like "Table Mesa".
You see, Fishkill is near Poughkeepsie, and both are in parts of NY that were one New Netherlands, so there are many many Dutch placenames in the area. An old Dutch word for "creek" is "kill", hence Walkill, Spackenkill, Killvan Kul, Katerskill, and Fishkill. Yes, "Fishkill Creek" is, literally, "Fish Creek Creek".
Obviously, the Village of Fishkill just laughed in PETA's face.
Sadly, I didn't hear about this until years later, because I wanted to write PETA _demanding_ that they also do something about the name, "Spackenkill," around them, "What about the poor spackens? _Why don't you care about spackens, PETA?!?!?"_

They often take athletes who have an injury, pay them not to work out during their recovery and to eat a LOT to bulk up their fat to take the 'before' pics. Then, when the athlete gets back on their workout routine, they quickly shed everything due to their prepared metabolism and existing muscles and ability to work out far more of the day then working people. I mean, yes, it's messed up, but it was also 18th century British-controlled India. That is a level of desperate poverty that few people alive today can comprehend. It was probably obvious that the twins were going to die young and at least this way the parents could have some money for their care, and maybe some for their other children. Even though it was awful, it might still have been the best option that they had.
I'm also going to say that I am guessing that the child died of natural causes and the cobra thing was made up by/for the British. It sounds like children with this condition usually die very young. Death-by-cobra stinks of a writer's attempt to make the whole story more exotic. And the bit about the family being "very religious" reads to me as family trying to defend their children's right to rest in peace and not be exploited by the Brits. If it were purely about money they could have sold the body for a lot of cash.
We'll never know for certain. It's a really rough situation all around. All I can say is that I hope that the remains can be reinterred. Given the history of English museums, however, I doubt it will happen.

Socially only the ruling "class" actually matters. Anything below that is very much like ants in real life. Disposable. The one difference is that every single member of a xenomorph hive is female since metamorphosis exists where drones can evolve to warriors and etc until they reach queen status.

@@ghalano2993 yeah I was guessing they're all female at least biologically but I always thought of the drones as males. Though, they're just strange in general as such large and complex parasites because male or female, someone else gives "birth" to their children either way, so I doubt we can actually really accurately compare them to humans and how they operate or perceive such roles. Still though, nasty creatures, but the hierarchy in different colonies is pretty intetesting. Not sure how humans rank among them though, my guess is they rank anywhere from a pest species to food so still, can't imagine if they suddenly popped into existence anyone would actually wanna try to date one because, sure, they'll protect the hosts of their larva... About as well as a raccoon protects a trash can or a dog protects their food bowl, the vessel itself likely has even less respect then a drone in the more feral colonies

It's called Mindkiller (by Spider Robinson), and it takes place in a future where people can plug a cord into the pleasure center of their brains and plug the other end into an outlet and just bliss out for a while. It has safeguards to prevent using it for too long continuously or at too high an amperage, but with the right equipment (a screwdriver), you can disable the safeguards and just euphoria yourself to death by ignoring all of your physical needs for sufficiently long.

It's tied into human psychology, as the pupils of the eye expand when we see something or someone we like. For the limb lengthening procedures, they do that to the arms as well. Each part of the arms are done separately like the legs. So you would be in those contractions for YEARS, having your limbs pulled apart as the bone grows to fill the gaps. However, it isn't guaranteed that the new bones is going to be strong enough to hold you up. You could potentially end up in a wheelchair if you new bones can't support you.
I have dwarfism and my family and I were asked about this for me. We all said NO! I still would have dwarfism and none of my medical conditions that goes along with it will go away. Unfortunately there parents choose to do this to their kids with dwarfism for a few inches, because they want their kids to be "normal" and without their consent sometimes.

3:34 An important thing to note about this one is that UA-cam was literally just complying with copyright law in this case. The whole transformative thing isn't as generous as a lot of people make it out to be; if you want to parody a song, you need to actually license it. Most movie parodies have a whole cast of original characters in an original setting probably for this same reason. If it's only kinda similiar to the thing they're parodying, then they don't have to license it.
So in short: Just making something a parody doesn't automatically make it transformative. There are a few more steps to it than that.
