Love your content and I'm learning a lot from you. Please never stop sharing you helping people like me who are totally new in this SMM career. Thanks 💐
This video was so helpful, I’m 31 trying to explore new careers. You covered a lot here and as someone who has a short attention span you were SO fun to watch! Thank you for sharing and for your time!! x
I love seeing other smms day! 😍 Its so fun seeing what things owe do the same/differently! 🙌🏽 Scheduling things ahead gives you such great flexibility for you day to day life which s sooo good especially in summer when we can get out and enjoy the weather and work outside 😍
This video is one of the best I have seen so far! I'm at the beginning of working as an SMM and love how you explained and showed us your typical day! 👏
A local restaurant owner asked me today to be his advertisment manager, focus on social media. I am both excited and nervous. This video was really helpful. Kudos Sydney!
This was so helpful! Thanks so much for going into the detail of what you do in a day - its really informative for us to get an idea of what exactly a social media manager does!! :) All the best with your ventures. :D
Hello! I love this video, very helpful and informative. I have some social media experience with my own accounts and working as a social media assistant for a non-profit organization. I am starting to take on my own clients. My question is, how long does it take for you to do to the creating, scheduling and posting? Do you give your clients a time frame on when everything will be done? that's what I am trying to figure out.
Hi! I am also in the beginning stages of becoming a free lance social media marketer and starting my own business with that! I had a few questions actually! With the content calendar am I able to personalize and change the options under the content type, and if so how can I do that?
Omg, I feel so grateful to find your channel. I've been handling 1 social media account of my cousin company for this past 2 years and I didn't know that all I did is a real job and it called Social Media Manager. I just call it as admin 😂 thank you so much for this great content. I got so much new things to learn from your video.
I love the energy! And thanks for sharing / taking us behind the scenes. I have a question though-- just in case you're not going on vacation, like you said, how many hours do you normally spent on working per client?
This video was so informative. Thank you! Can you please tell me how you receive money from your clients and how do you make sure they do pay you (and not scam) every month? Like any tool for it?
@Sydney Hembrough: I liked the fact that you not only told us what a social media manager does, but you showed us. Thank you for making and sharing this video. The only cons about this video is that you were speaking very fast. Also, at times when you were showing us things, you were moving very fast. I have a few questions. 1) When you said you were going to change a quote that a pastor said. Would you be allowed to do something like that? 2) A) When you were on your phone liking a lot of pictures (from the limo company), did your client tell you to like those pictures or were you personally choosing to like them? B) Is that included in your pay? 3) A) How many clients do you have? B) How do you work for them all on a weekly basis?
Hi! Thanks for the feedback! Sorry, I am a very fast talker. Also, I cannot show things in great detail due to privacy, which is why I was moving fast. I wasn't "changing" the quote --- I was making the quote into a graphic. I would never change what someone said. When I like posts for clients, they are within the industry the client advises me to interact with. I have 2 clients right now and I just time block my weeks to get the work done for all of them!
I have a question, how often do you meet with your clients to know what content you will be posting during each week? In the video, for the Christian SM calendar you were working on you had already planned what was going to happen each day and wrote your captions based on that. But now I'm wondering how often did you meet with your customer and if they only gave you the basic ideas of what was going to happen each week or if during your meeting with them they told you specifically?
This was excellent! Thanks so much! I have a content calendar like that but never use it, you made it much more sense out it, now I can use it effectively!!!
I’m wondering how much they pay you for this (or what your packages look like) and how long you’d say the content calendars take you? This was so fun to watch!
Also how did you get started in the industry Sydney?? Did you try to create a portfolio to show your clients, do jobs for free first, etc? Thanks so much for this video, it was super informative!!
LOVED this video! It was refreshing to see an actual day in the life of a SMM! I tried clicking on the content calendar link, but it doesn't bring me to the place to sign up. I just get brought to the general page for the website.
Thank you for this video, very informative! I like that you are very charismatic and the pacing of your video is dynamic. Most videos I've watched with the same theme made me bored but yours I watched all the way through 🙂 Would be nice if you could make an updated version of this video
Thank you so much! Your comment made my day! I’m actually uploading a follow up video that’s a Q+A about working in this industry, interning, finding clients, etc! It should be up by Friday!
It's a blessing to see this video; I always wondered what it was like being a social media manager because I'm so passionate about getting into this field, what's your advice for college grads trying to get more experience in this field and do you need to have a marketing degree? :)
Aww I’m so glad it was helpful! I actually JUST filmed a Q+A allll about this and it should be up by the end of the week! I talk a lot about experience, learning without getting a degree, etc!
accidentally stumbled upon starting to freelance as a student and full time worker… i’m scared to leave my full time job but my question is if you’ve made a video on how have you created packages or how would you go about that?
Definitely fun, but not an easy job It could be overwhelming if you don't plan your time strictly. Useful video for anyone who's interested to start working as a social media manager. 😉
Hi, i loved your video. The question that i have is the following: Do you get to have access of your clients different social media accounts in order to post or how that works? - thank you
Hey! Great question! Yes, I get the log in information for their accounts. For Facebook, I am made an admin, so I can do it all from my own account. I hope that helped!
I know this is a touchy subject so if you are not comfortable answering I totally understand, but can you give any information about how much you get paid from each client and how they works, like do you get paid hourly/weekly, or is it based on the work that you do?
Also, how do you know how many times to post for each client on their accounts? I understand there must be some research beforehand but when you first started, did the client tell you how many times they wanted you to post or you just improvised in how many posts and stories were correct?
I actually go to school for it!! My degree is in social media and digital content strategy. But when I started, it was mostly because clients saw that I had my own social media presence. There are a lot of info videos on UA-cam and tiktok though about starting without schooling!
Hello, which freelancing websites/ apps you use please can you share with us? And also do companies look out for experience in their freelancer social media managers do we need to have previous experience?? Thanks :)
This was super informative, thanks for sharing! I love the flexibility! Definitely something I'm considering doing as I work currently in marketing but would love to be self-employed.
Hi I’m super interested in pursuing this career just stuck in what major to pick? I know the top three are journalism, communication, and marketing! What do you think is best ?
I am a digital marketing major, and I would highly recommend going into something in marketing. Journalism and communication would be great minors or a double major, but I don't think they will offer you the marketing side of things needed for this kind of work. Hope that helps!
@@SydneyHembrough Thank you so much! I think the two I am debating between is marketing integrated communications or journalism with the emphasis on advertising! Wish my school had a digital marketing major!!

@@clifhellner1493 The restaurant never opened lol. The owner was kinda odd to begin with, then became shady as fuck. So I stopped texting back.
