@@dmitryparenkin lol - I just stopped working on splatterhouse for the day. I was doing this game before I started on splatterhouse. I’m not touching it again until spring. I do have to do my paying work though ;)
Looks really cool so far. It's a bit weird that the player carries a sword, but attacks with sort of a whip. Also, man, the player sprite looks hella familiar!
@@darkfalzx we have been calling it “whipsword” the entire game is basically a joke - as is the weapon. The blade will have all sorts of different forms as the game progresses. Character is based off of the Black Tiger, Magic Sword and the original game, Insanity’s Blade.
@@MonsterBathGamesInc Yap! Was def thinking Black Tiger, though for a second I thought, maybe Amiga game Satan, but upon checking what that looked like... man, it wasn't great: ) I assume “whipsword” is a shortcut to not drawing different weapon overlays?: )
@@MonsterBathGamesInc I meant, like drawing the character to the screen in layers, like a dress-up doll - basic layer of just a dude without a weapon, then a second layer of just the weapon/accessory/etc. This obviously requires a weapon overlay sprite for every player frame of animation, but editors like Aseprite allow you to do this pretty easily. I do this for powerups and outfits in my Ultionus game.
@@darkfalzx That's basically what I do, I just don't use Aseprite. It lets me swap out the chain and the blade sprites easily in Unity. The only time I use Asperite is for fixing palettes on megadrive/genesis art though :D
Can't wait to buy this game looks amazing
esta muy bueno, seguire tu progreso
This is so cool! But please don't forget about SplatterHouse!
