I really like the idea of RCS, but sadly it seems that AOSP has no implementation yet. From what I can read, it's implemented in Google Play Services, so people like me who use Calyx and other roms without such are unable to use this standard. There really ought to be an open implementation for an open standard like this.

its pretty broken, I did post a tutorial on microg repo but it broke this weak as of apple announcement. Even regular Gapps RCS users have a issue.

@@burhanbudak6041 Yeah! I saw the issue in the repo. Hopefully someone can get it working again for the people who need it. I'm lucky enough to have a family which primarily uses either Matrix or email, so I'm not missing out on anything.

I'm not inclined to think Tuta is a honeypot, but while we can verify the application we download is open source and unaltered, how do we know their back end is actually running the open source code they've displayed online?
