Well if you watch the video 'Dave Grohl Proves You Don't Need Lessons To Rock' it is indeed a thing gutiarists don't need -although it only makes sense if you play drums-
GNVS But you sure as hell need to know a fair bit of theory to rock well. Everything is so basic without it. The greatest difference between a rockstar and a tribute band-member is that one is picking random notes from the pentatonic scale and the other knows their fucking modes.

Howard Dusek they're practice amps that i guess people assume to be recording amps and is then disgusted when they hear the sound coming from an amp not meant for recording.
I don't know either. I can kinda see the arguement of the "it's a trap, the effects suck, you can't get a good enough sound, you're better off with an Orange amp" arguement, but to a new player, my Line 6 Spider 2 fulfills its purpose nicely. Use a Line 6 amp with a mindset of "i wanna get a taste of what's possible" instead of "this amp will make me money". As with all things, the more experienced you get, you'll want better gear.
Kinda makes me wonder why beginner guitars aren't hated as much. They're both meant for new players, yet one apparently sounds like nails on a blackboard compared to the nice sound an average player would expect.

I've never lost a guitar pick, it's one of the many benefits of having only played guitar for a year. Also, I like to strum, tap, fingerstyle, and slap a lot, so I probably use a pick only about a third of the time at most.

Changing strings on a Floyd rose... God, when I first had to do that I had no clue whatsoever, and ended up spending the whole day researching, buying strings, and then eventually doing it for a guitar that wasn't mine. THE PAIN!

So got my first guitar a few months ago and it's got a Floyd rose. Stays in tune for ages and sounds amazing, but you get one string out of tune, oh boy. I jumped in the deep end a little for my first guitar but it's allowed me to learn so much about it :)
