    I remember how the media erupted last year around this time. I have had a habit of studying the scriptures regularly. As an African American, I have an understanding and a love for the history of the people of my ethnicity. However, I do not embrace rage and I do not embrace hatred. All of what African Americans have gone through (i.e. slavery, jim crow, etc), we should be extinct. It is the grace of God that we are still here, so we should not embrace hatred, we should not embrace rage. I would encourage African American believers to stay in the word of God, and to meditate on that Holy Writ !!

    A Christian should consider themselves a Christian first, everything else is secondary. And being a Christian means that you're a child of God, and so is everyone else, in your eyes. Meaning that all of this hate and discrimination is pointless, as it makes no sense to discriminate against one's family...

      I have no problem with CRT if it informed us of the past by telling us the truth. As a Christian I believe those that worship God must worship him in spirit and truth. I have problem with Christian supporting a man who thinks Neo-nazi are fine people. The problem is who much of the past can we learn and what can we do to learn from it. Before we call CRT a problem we better distance ourselves from the lynchings, the Jim crow laws the redlining and talk about how Google has an extremely low number of black while hiring whites.

    Critical race theory (CRT) is an academic movement of civil-rights scholars and activists in the United States who seek to critically examine the law as it intersects with issues of race and to challenge mainstream liberal approaches to racial justice. CRT examines social, cultural and legal issues as they relate to race and racism.
    CRT originated in the mid-1970s in the writings of several American legal scholars including Derrick Bell, Alan Freeman, Kimberlé Crenshaw, Richard Delgado, Cheryl Harris, Charles R. Lawrence III, Mari Matsuda, and Patricia J. Williams. CRT emerged as a movement by the 1980s, reworking theories of critical legal studies (CLS) with more focus on race. As the word "critical" suggests, both theoretical frameworks are rooted in critical theory, which argues that social problems are influenced and created more by societal structures and cultural assumptions than by individual and psychological factors.
    CRT is loosely unified by two common themes:
    First, that white supremacy (societal racism) exists and maintains power through the law.
    Second, that transforming the relationship between law and racial power, and also achieving racial emancipation and anti-subordination more broadly, are possible.
    Critics of CRT argue that it relies on social constructionism, elevates storytelling over evidence and reason, rejects the concepts of truth and merit, and opposes liberalism.

    I have got the impression that CRT activists gravely mistake societal outcomes for societal intent. Sometimes this seems accidental and at other times it seems willfully negligent, particularly if they are being given the moniker of "scholar".
    If we look at any society across the globe we will see that the dominant cultural or racial group will tend to be better represented or privileged in the upper echelons of society.

    From an outcome point of view, we could assume this is racist. And indeed, through this lens, CRT activists will dive upon such discrepancies in white majority societies as evidence that society is indeed racist.

    However, when it comes to the intent of a given individual in their respective community, what do they tend to do? They tend to "look after their own", whether that is their direct family or immediate village/town community. Unfortunately, this means people will be looking after those they live near. So poor people will look after poor people and rich people will look after rich people. This can be seen in white ghettos in the UK, and white palaces in the UK, without needing to invoke race at all to observe similar behaviours that occur between "white" and "black" communities in other countries.

    So, we can then see that a potentially BIG PART of systemic inequality issues is actually rooted in people simply maintaining nepotistic attitudes. But at what point should we call this racist? Is it even helpful to call this behaviour racist? Does it create more harm than good? And importantly, how aware are CRT activists that they are ignoring this? Are some CRT activists potentially pushing narratives to create division within society as an end in and of itself?

    Now, when we turn to INTENTIONAL RACISM, we can also see the utterances of black supremacist values in black communities, as it is in white communities. Yet, CRT activists tend to adopt the stance that only white supremacy attitudes are a problem, when it seems like the underlying behaviour common to people that engage in supremacist attitudes warrant greater attention and consideration.
    Perhaps these attitudes and behaviours simply fall on a continuum of human beings acting on xenophobic and tribal urges, which applies to everybody. However, that doesn't mean there's nothing to be done with respect to making the world a better place for all human beings. Nor is the above an attempt at morally justifying intentionally racist behaviour because it is simply "natural" or "normal". The Stanford Prison experiment demonstrated what "natural" and "normal" can look like in oppressive contexts, and it was certainly far from good...

    When it comes to "defunding the police", the policy changes that address any aspects of policing that maintain a "Guard/Cop" vs "Prisoner/Criminal" mindset could be helpful.

    Supremacists, black or white, or whatever form they come in, perhaps even political ideology, are still human beings. They have a story. But, the resolution in understanding these dynamics seems to have been diluted and blurred by Critical Race Theory more than anything else. Perhaps this is because CRT activists place a disproportionate weight on societal outcomes as being evidence of racism. Then, the boogeymen are everywhere. The goal posts are shifted to such an extent that anybody can be perceived as racist.

    I believe that until we acknowledge the broader burdens that all human beings share on these issues, that deep cultural change will not occur as readily as it could. So, shifting these issues onto "whiteness", or any other identity construct, shifts the conversation away from understanding human beings to blaming groups of people - which by definition is discrimination.

    Perhaps for some CRT people, they are very aware that they are doing this, and indeed, see the situation as an opportunity for vengeance, grandstanding or profit rather than peace and mutual respect.

    The best way to describe CRT and its sister ideologies (Critical Sexual Theory, Identity Politics, etc.) is that Wooden Bender meme from Futurama in which he says: “Let’s teach the world about our peaceful ways. By Force!”
    At its core are this ideologies are nothing but hatred towards your fellow man and woman. They sell you all this idealistic ideas but in the end is just the same evil that we saw in the past. I have been victim of this horrible ideology just because I disagree with them, they assume I was white and they bashed me without remorse, when I told them I was Latino, they continue to bash me but now with Latino racists slurs.
    Truly this a horrible thing and the sad thing is that is growing and now being forced onto innocent kids, kids who will grow up into hating themselves or thinking less of themselves which will lead to get angry and unleash that anger onto others. That is the vicious cycle this ideology seeks to promote.

    The source of all slavery and oppression is sin. And Christ came to set us free.
    Any sense of equality among human beings can only be based in a transcendental imperative of one sort or another. The Christian understanding that slow but sure created (among people who truly embraced it) ideas such as universal human worth and dignity, inalienable rights and equality under law was based on the understanding of two very crucial doctrines: 1) All human beings are created in the image of God, and 2) All humanity is fallen and sinful.
    The first of these might be described as the height of arrogance... until the second comes along and knocks us all down. Combine the two ideas and some very interesting things begin to follow. First, individual pride can be said not only to be unwarranted, but sinful. And group pride seems no more than an extension of the sin. Furthermore, we might begin to understand why those most influenced by these ideas began the march towards things like limited government and rule of law. The idea of the divine right of kings was certainly something that grew out of particular religious ideas offered as justification, but those two crucial doctrines would eventual chip away at the absolute power of any particular person or group. Within these two ideas it became rational to both pity the poor and mistrust kings. The rich were no better than the poor, and the king not necessarily better in any transcendent sense. Equality of humanity was not an earthly thing in practical terms, but a transcendent thing before God Almighty.
    In these two doctrines all mankind stands equal in the most important of ways. Outside of these two ideas no two men are fully equal in any sense. One better looking than the other. The other perhaps richer. One having a life of relative ease... the other perhaps born under harsher realities. But none of those was to make any difference in how any particular individual was to be ultimately judged by their fellow human beings. Behavior and character could be judged, but not ones ultimate humanity and worth. Christian theology would teach people to love sinners and yet hate their sin. The sinner we were to forgive unto 70 times seven; the sin we were not to forgive at all. We were to be far more hateful towards sin and its results, yet far more kind towards sinners... because "there, but for the grace of God, go I".
    Thus, even the 'smallest' of offenses was condemned... and yet no one was to say the vilest of sinners was not worth saving. The Gospel itself became a thing that had the thunder of pity and brotherhood among all humanity. And the very notion of evangelizing all nations was seen as a beautiful charity to be spread generously and without judging any group of humans as 'not worth saving'. What any nation or race lacked in goodness was only a reflection of the fall that infected all men, for all are sinners worthy of condemnation. And the God who offered salvation through His Son wanted His followers to make this offer known to all mankind.

    I love this lady... How can you call yourself a Christian while at the same time being hostile to one group of people? I never even thought about it like that. I mean it seems like this critical race theory ideology is wanting to flip the roles of the atrocities that happened during slavery and with some white supremacists after slavery was ended. Basically now black people should be superior to white people... I personally would rather live by what Martin Luther King Jr was fighting and gave his life for, which is racial equality. My white skin color doesn't make me any better than your black skin color. And vice versa. How bout we react to people based on their character and what's in their heart rather than what color their skin is? If we're ever going to find peace in this huge mixing pot of different ethnicities in this country, that seems like a great place to start. I can promise you there's a handful of terrible people of every race, but there's far more good people, that all want the same thing. Our government for many years and it seems more in recent years has been pushing things like critical race theory. Why do you think that is? Because they know that if we could ever stop being ignorant and stop looking at people and judging them by how they look, and come together as 1 big united group of just AMERICANS.... All the governments power to control its people while politicians become milliionaires, is gone... It really doesn't take much to see they wanna keep us fighting and keep us divided... We the people is rapidly being changed to we the government. We are losing our constitutional rights more and more everyday. This current president was quoted as saying "The Constitution is not absolute". Meaning if there's a constitutional right given to every American in there, that goes against what the government wants, they can change it... That is NOT the what our forefathers thought when they gave their lives to win our independence and write it.... IT IS absolute, unless we the people don't care enough to fight for it... United we will always stand, divided we are doomed to fall... God bless everyone

      To grapple with that, we should look hard at what happened in the early 60's. Within a relatively short historical period, black poverty had halved; the black family was rock-solid (even a smidge more likely to be intact than the majority); in Harlem, people could sleep out on their fire escape when it was hot, and go for walks in the middle of the night. Just when there was this big national repentance over racism and big legislative pushes (the war on poverty, affirmative action initiatives, getting rid of racist laws), at that point things fell apart. Progress against poverty slowed, the family started falling apart and neighborhoods got dangerous. There are some parallels with what happened with poorer classes in England around that time.

However His ancestor King Solomon married a Shunimite woman and their skin was very black. Soooo, it is quite possible Jesus’ skin could be darker (or lighter) then the traditional olive color. Does it really matter? Our blessed Savior does not look at the OUTWARD appearance, but rather the heart. This is the slickness of systemic racism. I have a secure credit card. The payment is due on the 9th of each month. But you pay it earlier. I pay the monthly payment on time.Just a lil earlier; But the bank charge a low cent charge. Like .28 cents close to the original due date of the 9th. after you made your monthly payment. If I don't check my account after I've made that monthly payment. And the bank add a small fee to your account. And that little change fee of .28 cents is not paid on the 9th. The bank has to report that to the credit bureau as something negative. Therefore you have a negative inquiry on your credit report. That what white people do, that runs these bank systems. They target black, to put negative inquires on our credit report, that prevents us from getting loans for homes, businesses etc. The bank teller tell me, it's just 28 cents, but I do have to report that as something negative if the 28 cents is not in your account by the 9th. The 28 cents isn't the problem. The problem is. If you've made your monthly payment, and your account is in good standing. The bank add a small change fee like 28 cents, so they can report your account negative to the credit bureau. That's what systemic racism is. Something little as 28 cents can cause a lot of damage. Because, when request a credit on you. The credit bureau is not gonna say you have a negative inquiry for 28 cents. Their just going to report a negative inquiry. And that's what a lot of these racist people been doing to blacks, that's working in these systems that can report things on your credit. Then you have to go through all these mental, stressful loop holes to fix it. For them to comeback and lie and say. It was a clerical error.First Premier Bank is corrupt of doing this, and so many others

    • @joselinvalle6219
      @joselinvalle6219 3 роки тому

      I believe so. Heck, Christ himself, a Jew, had a conversation with a woman who all the religious superiors considered a gentile or lower being. He didn’t care about your race, ethnicity, religion to begin with, and he didn’t make any of those a requirement to learn about God’s love and your self worth. He just wanted to get to know you for you. What we see throughout history are people who use religion or a belief system to grant them political, militaristic, racial etc power. And religion by definition is already structured in a way that can exclude more than it includes (keep in mind religion doesn’t have to be a spiritual thing, or belief in a deity, refer to any dictatorship). That’s why there are so many different forms of “Christianity”. Because people will emphasize different parts of scripture to meet their own personal agenda. They manipulate Truth to create their own truth. They tell people what they WANT to hear. So the instances of religion being used to perpetuate supremacy (I.e. the South during slavery) are far from faith in Christ because they are missing the big picture and all the details. And in my personal experience, sharing a love of Christ has brought me so many friends of different backgrounds. And it has also helped me talked to those who don’t know Jesus. Is it world changing? No and it doesn’t have to be. It’s all personal relationships, but that’s where it starts. I never want to look at someone and think they are a certain way by default because of their race. If I did, then I wasn’t taught right. That’s just completely missing God’s word.

    • @sivad1025
      @sivad1025 3 роки тому +3

      I mean this with respect: it is absolutely heartbreaking that this is a serious question.
      When "religion has been used to perpetuate a system of supremacy," it was used by people intentionally misusing it. For example, the fugitive slave act compelled people to return slaves. Deuteronomy 23:15 says that you shall not return fugitive slaves and shall not mistreat them. Was the fugitive slave act based in the Bible or lies and ignorance of the Bible? That seems pretty obvious to me.
      The first chapter of the Bible teaches:
      *Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness.* _Genesis 1:26_
      Anyone who reads the Word of God understands that those of different races are also in his image. So, yes, true faith in Christ brings people together. Religious bigots who misuse their "faith" for inequality are deceivers and children of the devil

    • @joselinvalle6219
      @joselinvalle6219 3 роки тому

      @@MikeStoan It’s not bringing people together if Christianity is used as a tool to subjugate, discourage, or discriminate. Those who do that are hypocritical. Your question sounds like Christianity was exclusively used in a malice manner. I’m not denying it hasn’t, but were they true followers of Christ? Absolutely not. I think people get surprised when they hear that the Bible teaches to love; love God first and in turn you love yourself and others. The turn off being that you have to have conviction, to understand your shortcomings and recognize sin (following Christ is no walk in the park believe it or not). It’s not a new modern message, Jesus had it covered thousands of years ago. I think the question should be “Can CHRIST bring people together?” Yes he can! Christianity without merit, faith and effort is just a word, but get to know Christ, and you’ll be able to spot people who want to control and discourage others. Get to know and trust Christ, and he’ll teach you to form good relationships. It’s hard for me to put into words because it is a very personal thing. In my day to day life, I think “if I can make a single person smile and feel good about themselves, and show them what God’s love looks like” then that’s enough for me. And it’s a big step to bringing people together. The goal is not to change people necessarily because you can’t force that to happen. But to inspire people. They will choose to change if they want to.

That is clearly racist and goes against the message of the Gospel that all are one under Christ who saved us.
      Second, critical race theory teaches that racism can only be overcome with discrimination against the poor. See Leviticus 19:15 or Exodus 23:2-3. The Bible clearly teaches that partiality to the poor is just as unjust as parituality towards the great.
      Third, critical race theory teaches intersectional theory. That is, you are defined by your intersectional traits. Galatians 2:20 teaches that we do not live our own lives, but rather, Christ lives in us. The intersectional theory is at odds with the principle that our lives are defined by Christ, not identity or works.
      Fourth, critical race theory teaches standpoint epistemology. That is, your race gives you authority to speak on certain matters. The Bible teaches that God is the Truth and the Truth does not change. Moreso, John 16 teaches that Truth is delivered by the Spirit, not our own authority.
