Reliving The War aims to look at every episode of WWF Raw and WCW Nitro throughout the whole Monday Night Wars. With WCW Nitro airing on TNT and Raw is War airing on the USA Network at the same time, fans had to choose which show to watch every Monday night. The competition between the 2 companys would lead to fans getting treated every week with some of pro wrestling's greatest matches and moments.
WWF Raw is back on Monday Nights so the head-to-heads resume this week on Reliving The War. Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker learn about a new gimmick match they're scheduled to compete in at In Your House: Badd Blood. Bret Hart looks to get revenge on Vader in a no disqualification match, and a tournament gets announced for the Intercontinental Championship.
On WCW Nitro, Diamond Dallas Page and Lex Luger want to sort out their differences in the ring. Hollywood Hogan attends Nitro and he challenges Sting, and The Four Horsemen get added to the War Games match taking place later in the week at Fall Brawl 97.

Thanks everyone for the continued support! WCW Fall Brawl, RTW #99 and WWF One Night Only coming up within the next 2 weeks.
Thanks for all the great content Wrestling Bios!
I just wanted to give you props for the way you handled that sting dummy drop. It did not age well, at all. just a quick acknowledgement of that is all that's needed. The "dark side of the ring" stuff has to be tricky to navigate and you've always done a great job at it.
New Tribute youtube channel for Scott Hall! FOLLOW FANS
Appreciate all you do
And this means that the episode 100 will be the September 22 97 shows. And in both shows history will be made.
When Austin tells slaughter the only thing he’s been ordering a bunch of damn cheeseburgers 🍔 🤣🤣 then doing push-ups and sit ups after he gives him the stunner lmaooo. Nice thumbnail of Scott and Owen
Sgt Slaughter Starts Talking begins to sweat profusely....
25:11 - In a tragic coincidence, Brian "Mark Curtis" Hildebrand passed away _two years to the date_ after his moment of awesome right here - September 8, 1999.
That sucks, I thought he was still with us.
RIP
Dammmm my condolences
Lmfao good 😂😂😂
When I see Razor (RIP) & Owen (RIP) in the thumbnail, I can’t click the like button fast enough
They are truly missed
Both goats 🐐🐐🐐
Lmfao get over it. That’s lit it happens to everyone 😂😂
What if it was a sexytime movie they made together
That Austin slaughter segment was legendary and setup Vince getting stunned for the first time by Austin
Sarge took that stunner like a champ. Probably the best one i’ve seen
Totally underrated Stunner. The way sarge snaps his neck back makes it look legit.
Yeah he did if you think about it he was main eventing WrestleMania not that long ago at this point he should have been in good shape well all right shape for slaughter Austin did say he was ordering a bunch of cheeseburgers 🤣🤣🤣
@@xlixity Not to mention how he took that front bump as if trying to sell a Diamond Cutter; there's *NOTHING* supporting his jaw on that bump unlike everyone else who either dropped to their knees or just bent at the waist. Little things like that really drive home what the Stunner is supposed to be.
I agree. Solid sell of the stunner. I don't think I've ever seen someone take it like that.
I wish more would sell like that. The Rock oversold like HBK facing Hulk, but he's The Rock. No one else should be doing that but him imo.
Not a fan of comedy sells when it comes to anyone not named The Rock. Theory's sell made me want to throw up ngl
“The gear available on the streets of Milwaukee is of high quality” 😂
I’ve appreciated Alex Wright throughout this amazing series!
Boy, I love those edits in the intro and that they're changing as we all venture on this together. It's 👌
The Funniest Part of Stone Cold Steve Austin Stunning Sgt slaughter was Austin doing push-ups and Sit-ups that was absolutely hilarious 🤣🤣🤣
Coach Gulak could teach slaughter how to do the fundamentals!
I loved the time Austin stunned Jarrett and mocked his stupid strut afterwards then flipped him off. The crowd went insane.
OMG! I thought it was just me that found that part hilarious
if you ever get a chance & watch the disco & Hugh Morris match. The slaps they give each other is fall over funny too
2 weeks is the Stunner heard round the world!
"This is an order that is an order. Hell son the only thing you've been ordering is a lot of damn cheese burgers."
Lmao Austin was gold. That's why he's the goat
DO I MAKE MYSELF CLEAR?!?!
I think we need a Mark Curtis Tshirt.
5:52
The fan massaging Austins shoulders almost got his own can of whoop ass.
"I want the big man! I want Konnan! I want Bagwell! And I want Syxx!" One of the greatest Flair promos ever imo!
WOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
The Halloween Havoc match between Mysterio and Eddie is a classic and it was ported in the 2k22 WWE game. it's a amazing game !
Mark Curtis is awesome. I missed him back in the day. I was always a WWF guy.
Same. I really need to do myself a favor by going back and watching WCW, in order, starting right around the time Hall and Nash showed up.
Sad fact, he passed away in 1999.
Just wait until Charles Robinson comes around, he’s even better. I think he is the one who was knocked out and then got up and moved so the guy can do his finisher. I believe it was 2001 sin, but could be wrong definetly another great WCW moment.
"The big loss man" really made me laugh, I'm certain Hogan didn't write that
Lol big loss man, loss is right, he lost weight.
He might have written it. He and Ray were good friends.
@@StageRight123 I just meant it was too funny for Hogan
They didn't have writers in WCW. Especially for the bigger stars. It was just bullet points and wing it.
What a Rib
I just realised that episode 100 will have Austin stunning Vince and the debuts of Cactus Jack and Goldberg. Well played, sir
When I saw the date i immediately realized that xD
Big brain bios
This series really reminds me how cool Eddie Guerreros moves looked. Like even his basic suplexes or dropkicks had a certain icing to them that just looked so good. Best tilt o whirl backbreaker ever.
" A bunch of cheese burgers " 🤣 love that promo jajaja when stone cold starts doing the push ups and sit ups that was gold 🤣
I never anticipated the legendary Mark Curtis becoming one of my favorite parts of Reliving the War, but there he is. Curtis definitely maxes out the Meng Manly Meter.
The first episode of Raw I legit remember watching in living the war was this week, and it was, ironically, the Brian Pillman segment that surprised me.
Was watching it at a friend's house at the time and he randomly had it on. Was 10 at the time. Boy, the irony considering what was said at the time.
Hooked me then, didn't miss a Raw until 2002.
My Thursdays are not complete until I watch RTW... Thank you for the excellent content.
Jim "the Anvil" Neidhart was busy conducting Horseman Business during the period.
With Davey Boy Smith being removed from the RAW main event, I was hoping that Savio Vega would do more nerve holds. I'd buy a Savio Nerve Hold T-Shirt.
Thank you for making awesome content like this every week. They never fail to entertain. This episode dropped on my birthday so it makes for a great present.
A Happy Birthday to you Sir.
Happy Birthday hope you enjoy it 🎂🎂🎂🍫🍫🍫🍧🍧🍧🍧🍨🍨🍨🍨
Happy birthday enjoy the jam
Thanks but I'm a try.
Happy Birthday sir
5:29 God damn, Slaughter took that stunner like a champ!
Yeah, when they talk about the best stunner sells they don't mention Sarge, they should.
The Scott Hall intro hits so much differently now. If I rewatch this series, I look forward to the bangers, ups, downs and jokes, but I think it'll be the reminder of the greats (Hall was definitely among them) and the memories that will bring the most to me. We know DDP watched. I hope Hall got to enjoy the series before he went. We enjoyed him in the ring as one of the greats, hope he got something back.
Well, those words basically signaled the beginning of the on-air Monday Night War. Only makes sense to open the videos with them.
{RIP Scott Oliver Hall}
Rip To all the Male/Female legends of The WWF. We have Bret Hart that's still here ,I hope WWE does a Massive tribute to him when he passes away💝
Should have had more one-on-one brawling from Bossman and Hall. It's the two guys with the best looking punches ever.
Man the intro gets me hyped EVERYTIME! Let’s go 👊🏽
Mark Curtis just obliterating the Meng Manly Meter!
15:40 If you reduce the speed to 25%, it sounds like Nash is calling an ambulance for the 4 Horsemen.
😆
Jeeeez those Eddie Guerrero powerbombs always made me inhale back in the day
They are still are unbelievable to watch even now. My old notes rated it: OH MY !!!!!
The intro gives me goosebumps. Edit: best stunner sell goes to Sarge. Move over Rocky.
That Stunner on Slaughter is one of my favourites. Right up there with Santino doing a salute or Jericho going over the rope.
Thanks for another stellar upload Ryan, bring on fall brawl on Sunday, looking forward brother
Watching all these videos just make me feel so good. It's like reliving my teen years and now seeing it in adult eyes. Amazing. Thanks Bios for your work. Salute
Man, this was a great era of wresting. I would go back to watching it if you still had larger than life characters like these guys.
Alex Wright has become my favorite wrestler ever thanks to this series. I've never heard of him before this either. If it feels so Wright it can't be Wrong
Your comment deserves theme music and lasers!
@@UCUSmusic or a t-shirt (with lazers (sic)
Every Birdie I make on the golf course this year will be celebrated with an Alex Wright dance.
Need some toast with that JAM?
Bet that fanny pack of Nash's could put a horse down. The aroma of soma got Buff fired up for the horseman challenge!! Top work as always from UA-cams finest creator @wrestling bios
Austin losing it on the fans 😂 5:53
He probably tapped his injured neck :P
I hated Das vundar kid ......until you started this series. Thanks man and thank you Alex this is so great.
Me too 😂
Wunderkind
Haha. I remember when referee Mark Curtis wailed on that fan! Awesome stuff!! RIP Mark Curtis
You do wrestling fans a great service. Great work man!
Man in so glad I found this channel. I love it. It's helped so much from getting away from politics and all the craziness. Letting me relive my childhood
" Biker, Mike, Liker " lives in my head rent free. I hate how often I think of that stupid phrase randomly.
19:30 - incidentally, back in the days of Limewire, Napster, etc. and even today on stuff like in the comments of the Lost Media Wiki, footage of "Sting" falling on this Nitro would often get shared around by edgelords claiming it was actual unaired footage of Owen's death.
Man, that sting mannequin falling into the guard rail is kinda eerie now, knowing what happened to Owen hart😬
I love how you're making Mark Curtises guns a real thing it's definitely getting over I wait for it every week keep up the excellent work I love it fr real talk salute from Philadelphia 💯💪💪
Slaughter's face and body is usually get when clicking Randomize in a game with a character creator.
When you mentioned "Chairman," I immediately expected La Parka.
Also, Davey Boy's face at 33:00
I can't believe it's episode 98! Time flies when your having fun watching wrestling bios. Great job again brother such good content!!
"If you like Saturday Wright Fever" is like saying "If you like breathing Oxygen"
War day Thursday is back let's go and get back to head to head
Hey hope your doing well Bios thank you for all the work with this serie its simply ,toooo sweettt
Vader was so extremely underutilized during his run in the WWF it’s just insane, he should have been booked to squash Brett and handle the hart foundation on his own and challenged for the title
Calling it now… Raw wins next week setting up a big tie-breaker for episode 100. Excited to see what happens!
Almost getting that Raw takeover!
Thank you Bio-Man, best day of the week for me.
I tried watching old episodes on Peacock but damn it was tough. I will gladly take my weekly dose of reliving the war!!
Lets not forget the infamous Karate Fighters tournament the WWF held right before Hennig left.
Well 5 tournaments if you count the Europeon Title tourney too
Awesome episode WB. I personally laughed at the Kevin Nash promo for a couple of minutes it's hilarious 😂😂😂😆 You're killing it Wrestling Bios as always!!!
It is a miracle HBK remembered all the spots and promos in this time period considering it looks like he was high af on snow all the time. 😂😂😂
Time for the best wrestling show on UA-cam baybeeee!
My days finally complete 🤘🏾
I've started watching the Raw is War and WCW Nitros and PPVs in the week lead-up to this breakdown. It's really added a fun element to this journey you've taken us on. Thank you so much for re-igniting my passion for wrestling.
Love that Bret Hart cologne commercial 😂
In my opinion that Hart promo was gold, stumbling over words and all. It made it seem like Austin was so deep in his head that he couldn’t even think clearly.
That buff Bagwell "cup of coffee in the big time" comment will not be matched.
Favorite channel on the tube. Alex Wright fan forever ... welcome to the greatest series of all times, soldiers 😎
Look forward to this show every week. Keep up the great work man.
Can't wait till you reach November, such an epic month. The one I'm waiting for is the epic Rick Rude on both shows week as I was front row for the taped Raw event in Cornwall Ontario. It was a great event.
The Sting manequin angle(s) were awesome!
I get why those moments don't get championed due to what happened to Owen Hart.
But part two of the manequin angle got as over as about anything I have seen.
It didn't age well but I liked the angle.
My Thursday just got better. 😁😁
Another amazing Thursday thank you !!!
Dude , the mark Curtis segment...😅😂😭🤣😭😭🤣🤣😂
Awesome video when the series ends it going to be insane but we only have like 4 more years
Great video! In case no one mentioned it, I appreciated and love how you synced up Disco Fever to the John Travolta dancing in the clip, as well as Disco Inferno's moves. Well done :D
Listening to this while playing Lego Star Wars The Skywalker Saga
The world could not handle the utter manliness of two Mengs.
Mark Curtis was empowered by residual manliness of Meng that was still in the air around the ring.
15:40 I have rewatched this so many times 😭😭😭
Love the old WWF Warzone background music
When Nash did that 2 Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet I thought he was having a seizure 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Damn, Bret's promo skills is probably the reason why HBK and others overshadow his prime years. I'm actually a tiny bit surprised the Vince ever put him over at all in light of that.
Bret Hart was mostly a transitional champion. The right guy for a period of time
@@blackmantis3130 I'm a huge Bret fan, so if pains me to have to agree. I'd say the same for HBK as well. Their stars became so bright, that it's easy to forget that Vince was pushing hard to get his ideal archetypes to take the belt.
Sid, Nash, Luger and the like. Watching back the old manias it's clear that those were supposed to be the true top guys
Seeing the Sting dummy fall down that way give me a shudder knowing what happened to Owen Hart.
Another awesome upload from the greatest wrestling channel on the planet!
I remember when the fan hit the ring. Heenan said "how embarrassing to br taken down by the smallest guy in the ring."
Your a legend these vids are epic💯can’t wait to get my horseman business shirt😎
Brett choking on his own rage here!
My hangover needed this. Cheers!
Excellence for those sunny days
22:19 swag incarnate. R.I.P. Scott Hall
Nash was wearing an actual fanny pack and you didn't think to comment on it.
Oh SGT took that one badly
Thank you sir another great video 👍👍👍
Don't think I've ever had a thumbnail hit me like this one so sad great video as always
I'll never understand why with all the talent wcw had at the time they would put the us title on mongo🥴🤣
I think we sometimes forget the importance of Sgt. Slaughter during the Attitude era
